I too own a 430i convertible and most of the videos out there are not for the convertibles. Great job in making videos that are relevant to convertibles.
Great Video, another F33 owner in the UK, nice to see the focus on this convertible, I have found the battery on mine is starting to discharge more frequently, however I have front and rear dashcams, and two tracking devices on the car which promote the battery drain I am sure, I have not used the car in 2 weeks, and am same battery discharge error, ill certainly look for the Diehard battery if available in the UK.
I just figured out this method of accessing the battery this week! I couldn’t find this info anywhere - not in a forum, in the manual, or in the Haynes book. The other RUclipsrs who did this went in through the trunk and made a mess. You rock! When you do this, did you have any worry or issues with leaving the roof half open with the battery disconnected?
I agree,, its so crazy that there was no info out there about this! That's why I felt like I had to do a video about it. Glad I could help you out 😀 No issues leaving the top half open, it didn't move at all during the process.
I did remove the battery, and then accidentally shut the boot/trunk, had to connect jump leads to the two contact points under the bonnet/hood, and the doors will unlock using the key fob, unfortunately my replacement battery a Bosch S5A13 arrived damaged, and am waiting for a replacement to arrive.

I didn’t realize having the top this way made things easier, I did it with the top fully up and fought the carpet
