Sooo nostalgic... you covered most of the legendary maps, well done! (lost/shattered temple and bel shir/vestige beach are 2 I also remember well from those times :) )
My personal favourites in HotS were King Sejong (Dear vs RoRo in SPL comes to mind, among many) and Vaani research station (INnoVation vs Life, Soulkey vs Rain...)
Maps are some of the most memorable things that I associate with my time actively playing starcraft. I spent so much time playing them and we theorycrafted a lot in our clan :D Funny how broken most of the old maps are
I remember Metalopolis very fondly but after revisiting it, it seems unfit for today's SC2. Map is big but lacks bases, it's open yet prone to stalemates, it's paradoxical how little it works for today's factions. Incineration Zone and Scrap Station on the other hand...
There was this map in early early WoL that made 6 pool almost an instant win it was such a short rush distance. This was before you could veto, or before I knew how anyways. It was AWFUL. I just immediately said goodbye to a depot and prayed I could micro my SCVs. Also, I'll never forget "most of that army was halluc" 😂😂😂
Personally I think Radhuset station and Equilibrium from the last map patch were horrible lol... But props to them for taking a risk on radhuset and Equilibrium was just awful for me as a Terran so im biased in that regard
Good trip down memory lane. I wouldve hoped for more mention of the truly bad maps that plagued the early era of WoL though. Shit like steppes of war lol Hopefully the next part of this series covers more of the worst maps of all time too

Ahh i miss wings of liberty days. Good video. GGs

Yeah, king sejong was great. Played a big part of proleague
Vaani was goateddd
I’ve been playing StarCraft for 23 years. This video brought a smile to my face.
Ah man can't wait for the worst to showcase Jungle Basin & Steppes of War. Those small two player maps were not fun!

Is possible to play Legacy of Void in the initial Wings of Liberty maps? Curious about how games in Xel'Naga Caverns and Megalopolis would be today.
I think you can do it at custom game
Just load it up in a custom game

Incineration Zone and Scrap Station on the other hand...
Where is Lost Temple?
I remember those ledges over the natural giving way to Shattered Temple!

Awesome video! Been waiting for this one!
Thanks!
I miss that desert map from a few seasons ago. Cosmic saphire? Or maybe thats my fav 2v2 maps from second last map pool.
Same
Personally I think Radhuset station and Equilibrium from the last map patch were horrible lol... But props to them for taking a risk on radhuset and Equilibrium was just awful for me as a Terran so im biased in that regard
weirdly I remember the maps from that time period much better. afterwards they are a mush.
lost temple and shattered temple were also iconic btw
Daybreak is goated. When I read the title of the video it's the first map that came to my mind.
anyone else remember how amazing it was to see TLO play on Metalopolis back in the day?
Pride of Aldaris come to my mind, as the worst map of the recent genereation.
I always felt steps of war was the worst map that stayed in for a decent amount of time. Maybe bias because I was playing Z at the time
Nuke should be super expensive but cannot be cancelled and faster drop
Gotta mention the map named after one of the most iconic Kpop songs - Catallena!
Great vid! awesome highlights and backstory!
moar maps videos pls)

Best map for HotS is Overgrowth. No contest.
I only rank my maps on how cool and overdetailed they look
Cool clips, but now I hate DTs even more
no ryung vs sniper in daybreak? Kappa

I remember the ultra bug. it was soo much fun to see them kill a PF with SCVS trying to repair but dying to the cleave.
I always loved World of Sleepers
Overgrowth is my favorite
Nice, thanks for making this. I would have liked some more mentions of when a map was good for a specific race
Correction. MKP used the nickname "foxer" not "boxer"
Golden wall baby
the mass baneling play was the inspiration for zagara coop gameplay
i feel like submarine was really controversial as well
as a terran i loved
I'll never forget metalopolis lol
I hate that i played all these maps
