In terms of ghost writers, there is a HUGE difference in singers and rappers. When you are a singer, your talent is your vocal ability. When you are a rapper, your talent is to put words together in a creative and skillful manner. If you are a rapper they don't write your own rhymes, you are replaceable and the number of people that can easily do what you do goes up tenfold. Great singers are hard to duplicate.

There are many singers who have phenomenal voices but choose to write for others... so to say that singers are only judged by their voice is a bit flawed.
So voice and delivery doesn't matter with rappers? Listen to QM samples and tell me Drake didn't deliver them better and have a voice you rock to over a beat.. Singing is not just about the voice the words are VERY important too.. You listen to Sweet Lady that's all about what he's saying.
