    Not bad. But I go a step further Spencer. Stuff I figured out. I use calipers and check each ball. To get a perfect match. Then I polish the diff rings my self for smoothness. For grease I use a Teflon grease my dad used at Delta air lines. Its engineered for jet engines. My diffs will feel perfectly smooth for weeks to months.

    Everytime i build my diff it feels crunchy to me. Is it supposed to be smooth like a gear diff with no friction at all? Mine are not. I have used ae balls and schelle balls. Same outcome.

    • @TTMOTO888
      @TTMOTO888 4 года назад

      Might be you've over tightened the screw? You can try backing it off 1/8th turn until its smooth

    • @jeffbryner5355
      @jeffbryner5355 4 года назад

      @@TTMOTO888 i do it like the ae manual says. All the way down then back it a 1/8 off. Its crunchy at that point. If i loosen it to where its not it will bark under power once installed in the tranny. I have also tried breaking it in by turning the throttle up in the radio just to get it to move and stick a screw driver in the outdrive and let oneside spin at a time for a few minutes a side but still crunchy. Nothing smooth like a gear diff. It feel almost like u would have a bad ball bearing

    • @TTMOTO888
      @TTMOTO888 4 года назад

      @@jeffbryner5355 - I've done it the same way in the past. Crunchy diff is all I get. You might like to try the Losi way. Theres a video on how they do it, just tightening it enough so as not to slip then break in the diff on the table then retighten as needed

      @jeffbryner5355 4 года назад

      @@TTMOTO888 ok awesome. Thanks for the info. I just pulled mine out of my sc6 to replace it with a gear diff and it felt like rocks were in there lol. I will check it out when i get a rebuild kit

    • @NebraskaDownHiller
      @NebraskaDownHiller 4 года назад +1

      Don’t tight the diff all the way down, that is probably flat spotting the ring or balls. Break it in first before final tension adjustments. Watch some videos on the process.

  • @KTMcaptain
    @KTMcaptain 3 года назад

    So nothing prevents this diff from just spinning inside the outputs outside of friction on the balls? Why balls instead of roller bearings? Why not have spider gears between the outputs so you can run the diff looser without worrying about it not transferring enough torque.
