The reprinted version mentioned is the I Hate Fairyland Special Edition (B cover has the F-Fairyland title) (Oct 2017), It has some added story panels, a reprint of the script with some commentary, and a few process sketches.
was super refreshing and almost wholesome to see a more contemporary work get some love. I was stocking comics shelves in 2012 and 2013 and obviously coming off 2011 which was a pretty rough spot for sales in comics, they came back in a big way the next few years. Fraction and Aja's hawkeye, Kirkman's walking dead, Snyder's 52 batman stuff, Morrisson's batman inc, Saga becoming a huge hit, some of the best BPRD stuff was coming out around this time, Hickman's FF and East of West, Manhattan Projects. I think small press comics are having to do a ton of heavy lifting right now and it's a bit sad to see the publishers floundering on periodicals but if comics are doing great in collected formats I'm fine with that. And as much as I love comics beat, now that Comics reporter is gone and comics and cola was sidelined for Shortbox to succeed, I love that you guys came in to keep educating and give comics the personality and video journalism it always needed.
I always love a parody that is done so well and with such luscious colors to feast your eyes, helping to soften and so balance the difficult to achieve sense of parody done with a fine sensibility.
Skottie is such a genuine nice guy and a family man. This issue is just hilarious and I would love to see you cover Middlewest to show his more serious side.
Loved this, would love to see more I Hate Fairyland deep dives

9:40 Notice the window looking like a capital "F" -- right next to the "Holy"...? ;-)
