To be the Honest, the french and Caro are becoming more popular, which is nice to see how openings such as london, KID, and More are getting more recognition and praise nowadays, thanks to new types of resources in our time waiting to be discovered.
Can we take a minute to appreciate how when he returned from the mailman(?) he continued the game with the next move without even hesitating or missing a beat.
#suggestion I've been really enjoying the French defense games you've shown and was wondering if you could do a tutorial on the French defense opening as it would benefit many of us viewers. Thank you for your consideration!
Thank you for explaining why the d4 pawn isn't able to be captured in the opening. I couldn't see the Queen check follow up. It's little things like this that separate your channel from all the others, you take the time to explain things through our eyes. I definitely appreciate it.
what was white doing in this game? Like, that weird bishop move is just complete huh? Or, at 3:40, if the goal is to get the knight to a good square, why not just defend the knight by moving it to C5?
This is a very instructive game. White does not blunder in a blatant fashion. Black made his strategy clear in the first 5 moves but White seems to have not caught on. If he did, he failed to form a strategy of his own, lost a bit of time and let the initiative pass to black. Once the second pair of bishops was exchanged, there was almost no chance for White to win.
The best thing about these videos is that you explain why a move ir bad/good by exploring the possibilities. That way even someone who knows very little about chess (like me) can understand top level games.
If you watch him long enough your game play will improve too. Too many basic chess principles get repeated in his videos that he talks about will make you know them even before you study any chess. When I got Chess.com premium membership to learn chess systematically, every lesson I was like "Yes I knew that before from Agad's videos."
After bishop to F4 the engine showed Nils Grandelius odds go down like crazy. Again shows that even the best make mistakes, Nils played very well so far. Great game by Harikrishna!
Anybody able to tell me what's wrong with 28. a4? 6:00 The queen is pinned and that gets rid of the outside pawns or even leaves white with a passed a or b pawn... Am I missing something?
@@sudiptodam3725 Thanks I was curious and put it into stockfish, blacks best is to play b4 ... For a draw. That line leads to a crazy rook v 2 knights drawn endgame with perfect play but a 100 different ways both players can blunder. Allowing black to get his rook on the a file is totally winning for black. Stockfish recommends a4 and anything else is losing for white. I get it that the players don't play like engines but a4 was the first thing popped up in my mind and I'm not that good lol.
a4, Two possibilities with it, either you push a5 or take b5, From Black's perspective, axb5 is annoying so I'd rather not allow by b4. And the knight on c4 is really taking care of stuff around
Why was it the wrong captures at the end? Why wouldn’t black capture with the knight? Why would black trade queens if he could have a queen and knight or a queen alone winning?
"...a straight out victory for black out of nowhere, which is something that often happens when you play against the French" 🤣🤣🤣 I love playing the French lol!
There has never been a perfect game of chess. Every player makes inaccurate moves, mistakes, blunders etc. The point of the game is play the best moves you can, while trying not to make any serious mistakes. Every move gives you the chance to play an excellent move, or to make a mistake.
My guess u can make 500 blunders in a chessgame and u ll still be fine as long as your opponent also makes 500 blunders. What matters is who makes the 501st :)
this exact french line is featured in the chessable guide “master the french” for anyone wanting to learn it. I recommend the course, but the opening itself is kinda boring
Basic innocent question- Why Medo linger on the couch most of the times when you shoot these videos? Does he like to be in the video and want to be more famous than you? Or did you train him to be there while you shoot :P

The d7 square is the most precise square of the light-squared bishop. Not in b7 or a6. Pentala did the right thing in the French defense.
