Tonight wifey and I managed to get our daughter done long enough to settle on the play mat on the floor and watch the latest Jesper video with a glass of wine. Then she woke up, then we watched, woke up, and watched some more. Our nights are much like the Danish weather it would seem, a constant source of unpredictable interruptions. Even the small wins can be made more joyful by doing things together with those you love. We always save these videos to watch as a family #lifegoals
@@FixitFingers Give your family a big hug from Denmark. I'm your biggest fan ❤️🙏
Julie is clearly a kid any parent could be proud of, which means You and your wife have done an incredible job as parents too! ❤
Dear jesper, it's always a pleasure to watch you. You show the bad parts and mistakes that so many people wouldn't. Your end product is wonderful, and to partner with your daughter is priceless. I hope she is proud of her achievement. Lots of love and best wishes 💚🇬🇧
My dad taught me about woodworking and I think that this adventure of your daughter’s and yours is pure gold! I will try and pass on what I learn one day too. Thanks for sharing.
That’s awesome to hear! Passing on those skills is what it's all about. Thanks for the kind words!
This is one of the most wholesome series on RUclips. It's lovely to see. The offers of help and support you recieve are due to your obvious authenticity and is absolutely deserved.
Thanks so much, that really means a lot! The support has been incredible, and we’re grateful for all of it.
The Adventure Time quotes was a nice touch. Made me want to rewatch the show
Rain on a tin roof is one of life's great sounds.
You rock Julie. I'm so sorry to hear about the sciatic nerve Jesper. I think you should build more of those cabins on your property, for holiday makers and for your fans who want a working holiday with you. Imagine how quickly your house will be done. 😂😅😊
I think of it this way. If you try, you will know. If you fail, you will learn. Learning is good. Nice solution too. Can't wait for the next video, Jesper & Julie.
Thank you Julie, for having a devoted, funny, persistent, occasionally talented, brutally honest dad. Nice work.
And, I hope the main house is ok.
Haha, I’ll pass on the message! The house is still standing... for now! 😄
Jesper, your humble demeanor and beautiful videos are such an inspiration. Well done, as always!
Thanks so much! Glad you find inspiration in the videos, really appreciate it!
I can definitely relate to the difference between "skyscraper dreams (my ideas) & shack aspirations (my current skill levels)." We both know your talents are developed far beyond mine!
Your title here is personal to me! A change of circumstances at my day-job means that its time is ending, so I might get to "9-5" as my own boss from now on. I'm hoping I'll be a good boss AND quality employee to myself. It's a serious test of character!
Really grateful to see you doing your thing over there (including the persistence to work through and demonstrate do-overs and fixes for unexpected difficulties). That so-called "shack" is looking pretty Cadillac to me.
Am I seeing AI-generated art in this, too?! Next level, man.
Prayers for renewed health, safety, and success.
Cheers!
Memories being made with Father and Daughter, thank you for including us in your journey. From one Julie to another, You go girl!
Thanks, Julz! Father-daughter memories for the win. Julie will love the shout-out!
"...he is a master at this." Yes he is. Hi Jesper. Hope you are well. Father and daughter, you make a great team...lots of future projects for you to tackle as a duo.
Thanks, Juliet! We make a good team for sure. Plenty of projects ahead for us!
Very proud of you both, Jesper and Julie! Your bond comes through in every screw, every cut, every mistake and every triumph! Thank you for sharing this! 🎉
the way you roll with the punches is really inspiring. my grandfather was always doing stuff around the house, always building and renovating. he passed away when i was little, but he was like a father to me. it would have meant so much to me to do a project like this with him.
As always, fantastic video and a great watch. Thanks for posting, Jesper.
As a fellow sciatica sufferer, I hope your recovery will hold steady for long.
For me, you guys are the Bob Ross of cabin building, Jesper and Julie. Superb story-telling, as always. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing epic episode. It really is phenomenal the amount of resource that goes into just a small building. You really have done a great job just sourcing all that. Ready for the next installation J n J ❤
Such stories are something for I am grateful to see on the internet, they recover my faith in humanity and the family itself. I'm happy you have managed to continue and for all the support you have already received. I wish you good luck with small, only some words, yet sincere greetings from Poland. :)
Cheers, Jesper, at the end of the video both the house and cabin are still standing, and you and your daughter are still speaking together, all limbs intact, so I count it a huge victory. School of Hard Knocks covers the rest, absolutely valid, valuable education. Plus you connected with new generous donors, a blessing, and edited another entertaining video. Another victory lap. You don’t live small. Sure I am concerned about your home but at least you should be on the correct side of insurance there, I pray. Keep on keeping on, will be here watching.
I love this series! A great entertaining and informative video! I also admire how you keep your chin up even with all the (not so small) setbacks!
Jasper and Julie! Wow, I love watching you guys work together, Julie< you are killing it girl! Well done! My Dad and I have built my house together, with my brother too. It took us 14 months of part time building, its was one of the most challenging things and beautiful things ive ever done! I’m looking forward to the next video! Blessing to you all! ❤😊
I have been watching you since the first video and still it amazes me how much I enjoy the projects. It's been 40 to 42 degrees here so it seems a bit odd to hear about winter coming. Amazing job sir thank you for sharing.👍
Thanks for following along since the beginning! 40+ degrees does sound odd with winter on the horizon here, but I’ll trade you any day. Appreciate the support!
Fantastic video and effort, well done both of you. Love your videos, and how they are funny almost without trying. Look forward to the next one!
I love the sound of rain on a tin roof!
Totally agree, there’s something so calming about that sound!
Well done Julie and Jesper. My memories of working with my dad are very fond and lasting memories. RIP Gerald ( Dad). 🇦🇺🎸⚡️🤘🏾🤘🏼💋💙💙💜
Great to see how genuine this build is. Thanks for sharing
Just and excellent near permanent memory of your time together.
Love it Jesper. Project with my dad are the best. We built a dining table together not long ago and in January we have again huge plans of building a project together again! Loving this content. Keep inspiring us all. PS you rock Julie
Jesper, cracking job with your daughter, some of my fondest memories are working with my daughters, so believe me when I say i get it, that time spent together is priceless, and you didn't do a half bad job on the cabin either, pmsl, keep up the great work my friend. 🇬🇧
Amazing work, and beautiful commentary. This is a must-watch 👍👍
Stunning just stunning! Jasper, This is turning into an epic build with some lovely moments for you both and thank you for sharing ! - PS hope the sciatica resolves itself take care of you....

I love that quote. Get out there and do stuff. You might actually learn something and get good/better at it. And you’ll undoubtedly have fun 🙂. Cheers. 24:11
You catch me every single time...wanted to go to bed... saw a video from you, and watched it till the end with pleasure. Well presented and told. All the best my friend 👍🏼👋🏼
Thank you Sonke!
Amazing story telling and amazing adventure! Very inspiring. All the best to you and your family!
Thank you! All the best to you and your family as well!
Deareast Jesper, I am so sorry to hear about your sciatica problems. I totally feel for you.... I am currently going through the same thing .... after pushing myself too hard to help my mom move, my back just looked at me, flipped the bird and said " Nevermore"..... sorry wrong poem..... you get my meaning. Good to see you back and about buddy! Take good care!
PS: the flooring mistake.... listen don't beat yourself up about it. and the ceiling thing.... yeah, avoid the bruises there too. I'm in the industry and I have seen professionals make these mistakes. In my remodel, I have made "common sense" mistakes..... Mistakes happen... bouncing back from them is what makes you awesome. Not daring to do anything just makes you... well.... an observer . Hope that makes sense.
Holy Moly, Lemon Cannoli please tell Julia she talks too much LOL!!! Fantastic job guys, & fantastic cinematography from beginning to end. Such an enjoyable story to witness. Hoping all is well guys, greetings from New Jersey USA!!!
Haha, I guess she’s just so quiet in this one, you imagined her talking! I’m doing all the yapping here. 😄 Thanks a lot, Mike, greetings from Denmark!
I am super impressed with your cabin!! Well done, you two! Looks like it might come in handy especially with the problems in the house. It looks like you might need to live in your cabin for a little while 😂😂😂😂♥♥♥♥
An unbelievable coincidence... I too have been bed ridden with sciatica for the last month, I found your videos and binged them all, I love them! Furthermore I was so inspired I've started filming my friend Signe whilst she builds a table extension for her mother who lives in Copenhagen! Shes a recently qualified Carpenter and wants to get more women into using power tools and wood projects. Go' bedring Jesper! 😉
If you can sew, you can build; all you have to do is learn how to use the tools. The skills are transferable. I also used those skills (sewing) in sheet metal work, building airplane parts.
The sound of rain on a metal roof is the greatest sound I know.
Awesome and well done loved every minute of it... Thank you
Thank you so much! Glad you loved it!
Beautiful job jesper looks amazing and big high 5 to julie for everything she's done. Everything looks amazing. Can't wait for more videos. We need more jesper. Ps is this the pallet kitchen you mentioned ages ago your wife wants?? Hope your good mate catch up soon. 👍🏴
Brilliant. You tell a good story Jesper!
Absolutely brilliant from beginning to now I’m always looking out for your videos 👍🏻
Great work you two! It is a lovely ☺️ little cabin. I look forward to the next video! Cheers 🍻 from Prince Edward Island, Canada 🇨🇦
Guess what... This is such a great example of how to create a bond between a parent and a child! And you know what? If I get the opportunity, I will use this example to try and do the same with my daughters! (They're twins, so give me some slack though 😉) This is great Jesper and Julie!
The only thing that comes close to a FarmCraft video, is one from JesperMakes. Love the story, love the humour, hope you are better now. Definitely looking forward to the next one!!
You really "spruced it up" in this part...It looked a bit wobbly up on the roof before the sides went on to brace it.
The cabin is the strong physical focus but Julia and her Dad is the real story. Yet there are so many beautiful branches like spouses and grandparents and friends and suppliers and sponsors and ceilings. We can't control the weather we can't control people but we can be smart and work within the parameters that we know about.
The candle scene was so touching..well actually every moment of this series is absolutely precious. You two a making a masterpiece, a metaphor for everything that it is to be a human.
You really nailed it-Julie and I are the heart of this build, but it's a whole team effort. And yeah, that roof looked like it was about to take flight before we braced it! 😄 Glad the candle scene resonated with you. Thanks for sticking with us on this journey!
Ahh Jesper, you and your family are sooo loved! You taught me, a 50y/o woman, not to take her WW'ing failures so seriously and how to just enjoy. Plus your creations are beautiful!
34:46 DIWHY😂😂😂 Ain't that the truth? Oh the choices we make. Way to preserve my friend. I'm struggling through my own DIWHY misadventures at the moment, so I empathize with you. Thanks for the podcast shout out. Hopefully Lee and I will find some time to keep the rig rollin
yep, I laught at that too, some of my project are DIWHY LOL xD
Epic video! Beautiful story! I've loved following the progress.
Great video, bet your a proud dad well done Julie 🎉 loved the videos what a journey to watch
Absolutely, couldn’t be prouder! Thanks a lot for watching!
Love the adventure time references and you putting up quotes from BMO was most excellent.
Oh yeah, and the building was great too. Love your videos Jesper!!
I actually have this adventure but in reverse. My son started with construction and building . I was always interested in refinishing furniture. Together we built my chicken coop . Not anything as unique and as challenging as a cabin. But it turned out well and we get compliments.
Sounds like a perfect team effort! A chicken coop might not be a cabin, but both keep things safe and warm. Bet your chickens are loving it!
I’m loving these videos, thank you.
As a child I rented movies from the local video store on a weekend evening. Now I watch Jesper Makes apparently. Great work buddy.
Haha, glad I’m the new weekend entertainment! Thanks for watching!
So beautiful. It made me tear up
I've never felt so happy for a door!
Right? That door’s got a lot of history-it’s about time it found a new home!
You are doing great. You said you would tell a bit about your daughter’s plans and dreams. You don’t have to share if you don’t want to but I thought about Project Kamp. And wondered if that was something she would be interested in. A must watch channel.
The cladding boards make it look so good!
This is brilliant. I love how you and your daughter worked together on this as equals. I hope my daughter and I can do something similar when she is old enough (she's only 10. I think she should be at least 11 before I let her loose on the track saw.) Here's to lots of fun family memories being made in your new cabin.
Sounds like you’re almost ready for a father-daughter build! 11 is a good starting point-just be ready to “share” the track saw. 😄
@@JesperMakes 😂
Looks like you had a few of those mornings where you wake up and say "can I be someone else today?" . I have been entertained and hope to be someone else tomorrow.
Birdy
Haha, you nailed it, Birdy! Some mornings feel like that for sure. Hope tomorrow treats you better!
I think its always a great idea to put the roof up as soon as you can. I've watched other people finish the walls all around then put the roof up last. Seems like they have to hustle due to the weather. Great job!!
Totally agree! Getting that roof up early saves a lot of headaches later. Thanks!
Jesper it’s so great you’re up and moving around again. Please take it slow. It’s so good to see a video come out.
Thanks for a great inspiring video! Greetings from your friends in 🇫🇮👋🏻
I was long waiting for a new episode. Love it
Glad to hear that! Thanks for sticking around and watching!
Hi Jesper, wow first comment! Sorry to hear about your sciatic nerve. Explains why we haven't seen much of you lately. Hope you are able to recover quickly. If you ever need a hand, including getting your grapes harvested, just let me know and I'll come lend a hand. Cheers! Scott from Japan
Thanks Scott! I'm over the nerve thing, and thanks for the support. If you're up to some primitive living, you can stay in the cabin! And yeah I'm trying to do some more for my members, so releasing new videos for you first.
@@JesperMakes I'll happily take you up on that. It's not that different from the stay I've had while rebuilding my old Japan house. :)
Let's talk soon. Cheers! Scott from Japan
Lovely video. I have fond memories of doing projects with my dad. He renovated/rebuilt a large fishing vessel into a two-masted schooner, in which we later spent a year in and it has since traveled across the Atlantic to The Caribbeans many times. Unfortunately I lost my dad a couple of years ago and I just now find myself rebuilding his old workshop, which I have equipped with an old Robland X31 similar to what he had. Miss you dad!!
What an incredible project and a beautiful way to honor your dad. That schooner must have so many stories. Best of luck with rebuilding the workshop, sounds like you’re keeping his legacy alive!
@@JesperMakes You are more than welcome to stop by, should you venture to the beautiful island of Lolland some day.
"oh shit, that's my house" 🤣 i almost spit out my coffee
Someone sounds danish here.... :D -So I subbed, gotta support your own countrymen when there is so few of us... P.s. I actually liked the video! :)
My daughter is also called Julia, I wonder if she will want to build with me when she grows up. :) Thanks for sharing!
That’s awesome! I’m sure she will-just keep the tools ready! 😄
Very emotive, especially the 10-15 identical adverts (every 2 to 4 minutes) thanks youtube. Thumbs up from me.
Appreciate the thumbs up! RUclips's got a funny way of testing patience with all those ads, doesn’t it? 😏
En rigtig flot hytte 😊👍 i har virkelig lavet et rigtig flot stykke arbejde 🙏🤗
I have my first kid on the way, and I cannot wait until I get to build a cabin with her
That’s amazing, nothing beats building with your kid. Hope you’re ready for all the “help” that comes with it! 😄 Congrats, and enjoy every moment!
@@JesperMakes thank you! I'm beyond excited
Oh damn haven't even watched this and I already know this is gonna be good
Bring on part 3!
Part 3 is on the way, stay tuned!
Jasper your a poet and you know it. 😊
Haha, I’ll take that! Thanks! 😄
Everything about this is awesome!
Thanks a lot, really glad you enjoyed it!
Grand story teller. I would like to hear how you think you came by this wonderful primary talent. It would be way too much "9 to 5", but Jesper could be the creative director, writer, or narrator on any documentary. God bless! 🙏
If you can make sawing logs and paint drying interesting...
Appreciate it! Guess if you can make sawing logs interesting, anything's possible. Too much 9 to 5 would kill the fun, though!
A bit late now, but the wind stopper goes on vertical. This so that the overlapping joints get clamped.
Good point! A bit late in the game now, but I'll keep that in mind for future builds!
Don't beat yourself up about the water super highway! At least you found the error before you finished the whole place!
Fantastisk arbejde Julie og Jesper. Hilsen fra Californien USA.
Tusind tak! Hilsner fra Danmark til Californien! 🙌
Jesper Makes, amazing content keep up the good content
Thanks!
Really nice!
i love your content! great video!
great stuff Jasper
Thanks for this video. Inspiring. And yeah, as a classic american DIYer (i can do it myself, so much better and cheaper! Ha, Ha) It's amazing how projects quickly turn into a can of worms. Sometimes it's your own fault, sometimes the previous builders. You saw it through, congrats!

LOVE IT!
greetings from Austria!
Thanks a lot! Greetings back from Denmark! 🙌
Wonderful story.
I wish that I could do something similar with my kids as well, but unfortunately they are not interested in anything without a display on it.
Any suggestions what I could do?
as an ordinary guy, who built 2 similar cabins in DIY fashion, I would disagree with the green roof arguments. using epdm and a layer of hydroisolation/root barrier + geotextile, some porous substrate and a mixture of succulents+grasses you can make a green roof pretty cost effective. it is an excellent noise and thermal insulation. of course one needs to plan this in advance, as the roof construction must be strong enough.
I see where you're coming from, but for me, the green roof still seemed like more hassle than it’s worth with my setup. A bit more structure and maybe we’d be talking! How did your roof handle the winters?
@@JesperMakes OK the snow is a fair point. where I live (southern part of Slovakia) we barely have an amount of snow during winter, which could make me worried. I used 10cm x 20cm rafters, supporting a length of appr. 3,5m, 60cm distance from eachother to make thermal insulation easy. so it should withstand a considerable amount of weight.
I mean, using EPDM has the advantage as it could be your one and only layer on the roof for now with the option of creating a green roof in a later stage.
but I did not want to cause headache or make criticism, just wanted to share my experience.
I enjoyed watching the video!
You know that you are supposed to take the plastic backer off the roof water proofing? It adheres by itself or with warming it with fire.
Yeah, I might’ve skipped a step or two there. Live and learn! 😄
loving your videos. thanks for the great content
thanks mate!
@@JesperMakes I'm from South Africa, so I'm less of a 'mate' and more of a 'tjomma' (pronounced chomma - Afrikaans word meaning - 'Pal'), but you are welcome and it is amazing to follow your story... it is such wholesome soul-food in these crazy times we live. Best wishes, love and regards to you and your amazing daughter from Cape Town, SA.
@@JesperMakes Oh, and PS. The videos you make are really good content... your method of editing, audio track, narrative and story is really good. You should post as many videos as you can muster, and your channel will become your main source of income... I promise you that you will reach a million subs in a short period of time if you post videos weekly. Hoping selfishly that you take me up on my advice 😀
@@JesperMakes PPS - Betterhelp is a tremendous rip-off... you would be better off choosing a sponsor that doesnt rip people off and harvest their personal data for their own financial purposes. Many people wont support your channel purely because of betterhelp... so do your own research and reviews and decide for yourself... my experience with the company was not at all good... absolute thumbs-down from me... Their concept and model is noble but the execution is selfish. Perhaps align your channel with sponsors that project the energy of the wholesome content you present, and not some corporate bully designed to exploit the vulnerable... Just my opinion.
Halløj Jesper og Julie.

WoooW nice!!!
you know there are code books . Vapor barrier under the building . not in the building ....
Thanks for the code book reminder! Things are a bit unconventional here, but that’s part of the charm. 😄
Sciatica nerve pain I understand is caused by a vitamin deficiency 😢. Adk your doctor about a vitamin combination of K and C.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely check with my doctor about it. Hopefully no more sciatica!
