Su's voice is so clean, so straight and so razor-sharp...I can't believe it
This song is also really, really beautiful.
Welcome back, it's been a while since your first time watching BabyMetal.
This song is beautiful, especially this version of live at Legend M 2019 when MoaMetal (the one playing the guitar) is celebrating her 20th Birthday. Unfortunately you pick a song that fits and is part officially of a set of songs called Trilogy Of Lights.
Those songs are in order: Starlight, Shine and Arkadia. And is meant to represent the ongoing cycle of birth, death and rebirth. Is part of their 3rd album "Metal Galaxy" where the concept is traveling around the world and getting rhythms and genres combining with the unique sound of BabyMetal.
This set was took unofficially by BM fans as a tribute to Mikio Fujioka, Kami Band guitarist sadly past away and YuiMetal withdrawal both events in 2018, dark times for the group. That's why this song and the meaning got more meaning taking notes of these events as well following their evolution throughout the songs on previous albums.
My suggestion is to go back to previous album songs and comeback to this trilogy after getting to know the girls a little bit more.
I'll leave a list of recommendation of more classic songs and where to find it for you while is safe to react, it seems you already know the BM Reactor Resource so that's wonderful help.

This is a list you can follow not necessarily in order if you like and where to find these songs, sorry for no links but if you search for the titles it'll be easy to find:
- Ijime, Dame, Zettai live at Sonisphere Festival 2014, sometimes is blocked so careful.
- Catch Me If You Can, live at Budokan 2014 (you got a safe to react version with subtitles at GuilhermeCait channel)
- Akatsuki, live at Budokan 2014, this is a SuMetal solo, "BabyMetal Fans Ecuador" and *アカツキBabymetal* got the Black Night version (the safest one); and "アカツキBabymetal" channel got the Red Night (this one is heavily blocked, both are pretty much the same, only thing different shots and SuMetal different outfits).
- Megitsune, official MV is my first recommendation but if you want live check it out Budokan 2014, "Kawaii Metal" got a safe version; and Red Fox Festival 2017 (my favorite version), BMRR (Babymetal Reactor Resource) got this version under the title "Me - Git - Sune All Female Audience 2017".
- Karate, again official MV is beautiful and you'll get more meaning, but I highly recommend you live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got a nice version with a short interview.
- Rondo Of Nightmare, live at Budokan 2014, "Kawaii Metal" got this (length is 7:03).
- Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai - Answer For Animation With You, live at Budokan 2014, "BABYMETAL FANS ECUADOR" got this, not sure if it's still safe, so try opacity and logo over this, if is audio blocked try to mute or just cut the parts.
- Headbanger!! live at Legend 1997, "Gans Tomas channel" or "abr metal" got this under "Head Bangya" or "HedoBangya" title.
- Akatsuki Unfinished Version, SuMetal solo again but with only a piano behind special performance at Legend 1997, there's a "widescreen" version safe to react at "Kitsune Sama" , careful with other versions around coz is heavily blocked.
- YAVA! with Kami Band intro live at Big Fox Festival 2017, again Babymetal Reactor Resource channel got this.
- Road Of Resistance, live in Japan, official MV is heavily blocked but you can find an uncut version at BMRR, is under the title New Year Fox Festival 2015.
There are more songs from 3rd album but we can wait to get there, look for the tracklist in case you're lost when someone recommend those songs. Recommendations like "Shine, BxMxC, PA PA YA!, Shanti Shanti Shanti" those are from 3rd album
And remember some of these you can find at Babymetal Reactor Resource channel, try always look for those watermarked logo, put the logo for us while you watch the one without logo (read the description on the vid to get those clean version), if you don't pause a lot this won't be so much issue when editing.
Please, don't pay attention to suggestions over live compilations (like KuroKitsuneSama) and fancam, this isn't the best way to experience BM songs for the first time, there are very few exceptions you can go for this because won't affect your visual experience so much.

I totally agree. This is a fantastic song and Su-metal vocals are something special. Even if you don't know a word in Japanese she's able to convey the emotions like no other vocalist. The way she performs, her diction, tone, expressions, intensity... All these features are what make her so good. And here in "Shine" she outdoes herself since I consider this song (and particular performance) one of her finest works.
As it's been already said, to complete the "Trilogy of Lights" might be the best option 😊

This song is in the Trilogy of light - 3 songs in this order: Starlight - Shine - Arkadia. I would recommend you to check out two other songs then may be comback to see more of their classics in first and second album when they were younger: Megitsune, Headbanger, Syncopation, Road of Resistance, Ijime Dame Zettai, Yava, Karate...
Also those are Su solos like Rondo of Nightmare: Akatsuki, Amore (those two related somewhat if you see the lyrics, Akatsuki has amazing guitar solo in middle and Amore have both amazing bass and guitar solos), No rain no rainbow (this one is a power ballad, I recommend the official video which from Legend S - which Su show off how she control emotion when singing)
Great reaction and, in my opinion, quite possibly Su-metal's finest vocal performance to date ... but as you said, she is so good and her voice is so good that listening to her all day would just be a complete pleasure.
'Shine' in actually the second song of the three in the "Trilogy of Lights". It follows on from 'Starlight' and 'Arkadia' completes the trilogy.
Together they are about the stages of mourning we go through after losing somebody close - 'Starlight' is about the initial shock and grief, 'Shine' is about coming to terms and accepting the loss and finally 'Arkadia' is about moving on, never forgetting but looking to the future and better things yet to come.
It has never been said by anybody officially associated with BABYMETAL, but most fans believe the trilogy is a tribute to Kami Band guitarist Mikio Fujioka (RIP) who tragically died in January 2018 after falling from an observation deck where he had been stargazing ... it is just fan speculation, but it is hard to believe there isn't something in it, especially given the lyrics of 'Starlight' -
"Fly higher in the sky (like a stargazer)"...
also the softly sung part, which was also in English:
"Wherever you are we'll be with you.
We'll never forget shining starlight.
Wherever you are live in my heart.
We'll never forget shooting star.
Wherever you are we'll be with you.
We'll never forget shining starlight.

and the Legend M performance (which you have just watched - Legend M was Moa's 20th birthday celebration) in particular of 'Shine' would also suggest there is something in it with just Su, Moa and the guitar on stage. The guitar may be one of Mikio's, it may be the same model as one of his - we really don't know, but the way they used it in the performance - and at the end Su and Moa just turning and leaving the stage and the guitar. It looks meaningful to me at least (and all their choreo etc is done for a reason, so maybe I'm right).
'Starlight' was also released on the same day that Yui announced she would be leaving the band and Su has said she thinks of Yui and how she would have danced to this song, so maybe the tribute is for her as well. Only the Fox God knows.
So a couple more reactions to complete the Trilogy of Lights would make sense I think - 'Starlight' and 'Arkadia' - live performances from the same channel where you got 'Shine' from.

My favourite performance of this song . Su's vocals and Moa's courography is incredible and as Grington 300 300 said there most be meaning behind it . Su's vocals have just got better with age also Moa's dancing and harmonies as well .

Su's gift is that she can communicate the meaning of the song just with her voice, you don't need to know what the words mean to understand. As she herself has said about their songs, "Don't think. Feel."

Su doesn't use a lot of tricks in her singing, just straight forward direct delivery.
I would have also loved to have Su sing for me to celebrate my birthday.
I'll admit that Moa deserved it a lot more that I would have. : )

Great reaction and wonderful to see your appreciation of this song. It is one of my top 5 songs by BabyMetal. With over 50 LIVE performances by these young ladies and their backing band The Kami Band I think you are in for an amazing journey.
