So fascinating Dr. Pitre!. I could spend whole day and whole night listening to your teachings without getting tired. You are a gift from God to us Catholics who wanted to be educated more about the Holy Bible.
I’m so glad that a Christian challenged you on the Real Presence of Jesus in the New Covenant Meal, Dr Pitre. It is such a pleasure to learn from you. I can’t see a biblical blessing on focus on Mary, speaking to her, saying repetitive words over & over with focus on her while we meditate on Jesus OR naming certain people as saints & then people praying to them to do certain things. It grieves me. I believe it grieves the Father too.
When the visionary of Kebeho fasted for so many weeks at the request of Our lady, she only survived on Eucharist and later she didn't have to eat like someone who hasn't eaten for so long. This explains why. Eucharist is really food
One thing that came to mind that I don't think he covers in his book is that when you made a sacrifice in the temple you actually had to eat the sacrifice. I'm going to go over Leviticus with a fine tooth comb next time I read through it.
This is great. Well done Brant! A mother who breastfeeds her child is actually giving herself up for it. The child who suckles it mom is actually eating its own mom. The mother sacrifices her self for the child because of love. Likewise God gave himself us up because of love. For God so loves the world that He sends His begotten son. Remember Jesus is God. He can be the priest and the victim simultaneously. He can be God and food at the same time

I think of it this way: Jesus is both God and man so the Eucharist is both God (Jesus) and man (bread made by man). I dunno, but it helps me make sense of it.
Dr. Petrie I have a question right now during lock down a lot of us can’t receive Eucharist or if we can they don’t put the plates under because they’re worried about making people sick and distancing and I’m not exactly comfortable with this I believe that you’re not supposed to receive Eucharist in hand and I believe that the particles should be quite how do I approach this
I find it distressing that today many Catholics fail to believe in Transubstantiation and the Real Presence. I hope that in most cases this is merely lack of education and not formal heresy. However, in the Church I attend here in St Leonards has a very good priest who emphasises this doctrine.
John 6:48-51,53-56 KJVS [48] I am that bread of life. [49] Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. [50] This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. [51] I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. [53] Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. [54] Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. [55] For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. [56] He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
The Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and we fear we shall get Corona by receiving Him on the toungue!!?? Oh God help our unbelief.
Proper use of typology here posits the eating of His flesh and drinking His blood is an instruction for the saint to take within himself/herself that which the body and blood of Christ signify. For example, Jesus said His blood is the blood of the new covenant as it is effective to deliver actual spiritual redemption of the soul, as opposed to the mere forbearance of God through the blood of bulls and goats. To drink the blood of Jesus means to recognize the grace of redemption the blood represents as having permeated throughout your entire soul to give it true life; just as food and drink give nourishment to your physical body when the nutrients permeate through organ, muscle, tissue and cells.
No. The doc's conclusion is erroneous on this issue. Relative typology as "greater" or "lesser" than to arrive at the peculiar conclusion - that Jesus meant His literal flesh and blood - is the result of a poor hermeneutic principal. Spiritual life - indeed, eternal life (which begins at regeneration), IS GREATER than the manna given in the wilderness.
Dr. Brant Pitre, will you please explain to the people the Dogma of the Catholic Church that there is no Salvation outside of the Catholic Church. Consuming the Holy Eucharist is a perfect example of why all other so called Christian religions and all other religions do not eat the true body and blood of Christ because they do not believe, and that Schismatic Churches such as the Greek Orthodox who do not believe or accept the Pope, cannot enter the Kingdom of heaven because only the Catholic Church has the Keys to Heaven.????????????????
Eat my flesh and drink my blood..... At holy mass we are told that the host changes into the body of christ and the wine into His body. Why then, in many churches, only the body of christ is distributed...why not His blood too. Why are the catholics priests not following what Jesus said.
The Bread is fully Jesus and the Wine is fully Jesus..when you receive the host you are receiving his body, blood, soul and divinity and it's the same when you drink the wine/blood so no need to receive both. The reason that the priest consecrates both is to demonstrate that his body and blood were separated during his passion and death..that used to confuse me too by the way before I heard the explanation and then of course it made perfect sense.
Exactly I think of this all the time they say they eat the body and blood but they do not drink the no one ever talks about this or asks this question I would love to hear the answer to this.
@@TF80s I'm sure Jesus knew that too but even then Jesus ordered us to have His body and His blood. Obedience, 100% is what is required. When I was young I remember the priests used to give the body and blood. Somehow for the sake of convenience it was stopped. There are consequences for changes in the liturgy.
No, I still don't get it. What about "Flesh and blood count for nothing, it is the Spirit that gives life"? You make it sound like Flesh and Blood do count for something. "Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. "(2 Cor 5:16). Jesus gives eternal life.... and this Eternal life is knowing God and his son Jesus Christ (John 17:2-3) then the important aspect of our lives is a (non flesh) realtionship to God in "Spirit and in truth" (John 4:24). You may still be right but this argument doesn't cut it for me. Bless you though (I still love listening to your teachings).
look at his other videos on the eucharist. he addresses this questions specifically. Short version is "the" flesh vs. "My" flesh. Jesus is referring to "man's flesh" which represents humanities limitations. What man thinks or reasons about this doesn't count. the spirit gives life. The spirit changed the water to wine. The spirit multiplied the loaves. The spirit resurrected Jesus. The spirit gives life to the bread at the mass.
