  • In this excerpt video from the Mass Readings Explained, Dr. Pitre covers the famous verse from Proverbs 8 that Arius used to argue that Jesus was a created being and therefore not fully divine and only a creature.
The confusion that has arisen regarding this chapter is, as Dr. Pitre, points out is in the translation from Hebrew to Greek. Watch and see how Dr. Pitre addresses Arius' contention that Proverbs 8 claims that Jesus is merely a creature.

Actually Arianism was widely accepted during the fabrication of Islam by Muhammed.
As a caravaner Muhammed had common interaction with Arian Heretics and Jews.
Hence why Muhammed when fabricating his new religion denied the Holy Trinity and Divinity of Christ.
Actually Islam only grew because of all the Christological Heresies that were engulfing Christianity in his time, especially in the East.

OH you are all stupid, Arianism is closer to God than all you idiots who worship a man as a god. Trinity is heresy, you should all be asking your Forefathers (Judaism) and Islam is the truest Religion even though the world hates it. Jesus said to hate the world and all your Father (Devil) and Mother (Your churches)
      Revelation 13:14 (NLT)
14 And with all the miracles he was allowed to perform on behalf of the first beast, *he DECEIVED all the people* who belong to this world. He ordered the people to make a *GREAT STATUE of the first BEAST, WHO WAS FATALLY WOUNDED AND THEN CAME BACK TO LIFE*
The cross is the mark of the beast, the beast that was fatally wounded and came back to life. (Died and Resurected)
They place the mark of the beast in your forehead on Ash Wednesdays
and they perform the cross with their right hands, the Spanish Inquisition killed you if you didn't accept the False Messiah, you cannot buy or sell if you are dead.
The false prophet who is a model after the Pope's son, Cesare Borgia, so he is the real false prophet.
You were warned not to worship this man as a god in these end times.
So what statue did they build of a false god that died and resurected?
Is it a building, or a magic stone?
What other man is being worshipped as god today?
What other false god was fatally wounded and came back to life (died and Resurrected)?
What other god, that has died and resurrected, was made into a statue?
What white man lived in the middle east 2000 years ago? Who is Cesare Borgia ... He is not a prophet, yet he is the image and the face of Christianity, a false prophet.

Eric Gatera I was reading “arianism” in the catholic encyclopedia and the issues being discussed have created following in the east. A young man of 30-st Athanasius eloquently defended our Faith as discussed by Dr Pitre but he suffered various persecutions, ousted, banished, restored, etc by arians so that this period is truly a very difficult era of our Faith. Let us pray that during these modern times we will not be mislead by many noises emerging to muddle our faith. Dr Pitre is a gift to us re-educating us to our Faith as contained in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Eric, when I read your post I immediately began to chuckle. Dr. Petri is truly gifted and a gift to us all. Occasionally, I go to reconciliation with a Jesuit priest. Mostly so that I/we can talk through "things". I went to see him yesterday in preparation for first Saturday. During our conversation I brought up Dr. Pitri and to my great pleasure he stopped me, got out a piece of paper and asked me to repeat his name while he wrote it down. Needless to say I got the warm and fuzzies and said a little prayer for him later at Adoration at my church.
I should note that he's one of several priests at the student parish of a very large university here where I live. I sincerely hope that he's sufficiently impressed to share Dr. Pitri (and Catholic Productions, RUclips) with the students he's advising.

At 05:30 the verb (or past participle) "possessed" is cited as being the English word choice found in the NAB (and other translations), but the word "possessed" is never again mentioned in this video. If it was an error to translate the Hebrew originally used in Proverbs 8:22 into the Greek word meaning "create," was it also error to use "possess?" Dr. Pitre moves into what he sees as the correct English translation for the Hebrew as "beget" but never again mentions whether "possess" was apt or whether that word choice equates with "beget." Without clarification, the video's content is cloudy.

Most people mistakenly believe that Tanakh/the "Old Testament" had been codified in a single form at the time of Jesus Christ and the Apostles. If you read the theological history of the development of the canon of sacred Scripture you will find out that this is not so. Because of the captivity of the Hebrews first in Assyria, and then in Babylon, Hebrew, for the average person, had become an unintelligible language. Only some priests and rabbis still understood it, and only those very close to the center of Judaism in Jerusalem near the Temple. The universal language of the Roman empire had passed into it from the prevalence of the Alexandrian Greeks and was "koine Greek" (common Greek). It served the purpose that English does in the present day, as a language that most cultures knew; the language of commerce and government. Consequently, the sacred Scripture of 1st century AD Judaism had been translated into the Greek in Alexandria (the Oxford or Sorbonne of its day; there was a massive imperial library in Alexandria) and was known as the Septuagint version because it was believed to have been translated by seventy/seventy-two Jewish theologians/rabbis/scribes. When you compare the quotes of Jesus and the Apostles, in the New Testament scriptures from Tanakh / the Old Testament, overwhelmingly they come from the Septuagint version of the Old Testament.

Trinity is not talked about in old Testament, yet we see the instances of Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) and voice of God ( pre figured Jesus the incarnate Word ) as appeared to Moses at burning bush. Also God appeared to Abraham as three men as strangers. Though the language used in old Testament sometimes say as Angel of God , we see that Abraham prostrated and worshipped the three men and we do know that angels of God do not and cannot require such type of worship as we read in the book of Tobias where angel Raphael asked them not to worship him. We did not fully know God , His true image untill Jesus revealed it to the world. Also we do hear God addresses Himself in plural , at many instances, not only as a singular person. However Trinity is a subject one has to believe to understand and not possible to understand and believe. God bless you.

I think about it as all three truly being fully God, but how God reveals himself in three different ways.
God the Father is the 'Figure Head' and Author of all things, who reveals himself to us firstly through the 'Spirit' and ultimately reveals Himself to us in human form as a Man, 'God the Son' Jesus Christ.
Today God still reveals himself mostly through His Spirit and at the resurrection from the dead, God will live with humanity forever as the Son, Jesus Christ.

Now this is becoming a problem. because i genuinely thought that the correct christian belief is that
God is the essence which father, son and holy spirit share. Yet god has no form or body of itself, rather 3 persons with 3 forms / existent bodies, that represent 3 instances of the same essence, hence the co equality. Yet again, these 3 instance are not parts, they together do not compose a god being, nor it's one being who is sometimes takes the form and role of the son, and some other times takes the shape and the role of the holy ghost, and so on, rather each one of them is 100% god.
But i keep finding people ascribe themselves to Christian faith and keep giving examples that cannot be reconciled with this understanding, which i believe is the right understanding. Please correct me.
Although i am not specialist, since i witnessed the dignity and truthfulness of dr James white, and because i watched several debates for him, and sometimes get lost, and because i really want to test to what extent is he consistent through the rest of his debates, that i intend to watch. i started to read authentic books from true distinguished mainstream high profile christian figures.

I have heard another explanation is that Wisdom here in Proverbs alludes to the Incarnation of Christ, that his "birth" was understood and planned well before Creation and it is because of his incarnation that Creation happened. He is the "firstborn" over creation in the sense he is the reason for creation and he is the birth of the Old and New Creation.

He is the firstborn of all creation = The first of Gods works. A beginning at some point in history before the world began. In Him the fullness was pleased to dwell and through Him The Father created all things that were created. The "SON who was and is now" is the radiance of Gods glory and the exact representation of Gods being in whom all things hold together. In that context Jesus is God.
Fullness= All the Fullness of the Father or all the wisdom and power of the Father. In that unity Jesus, (who has His own Spirit), is all that the Father is and one with the Father. Now at the will of the Father a body was prepared for Jesus and the Son who was, His Spirit, was placed in that body and the Spirit of the Father was living in Him doing His work.
Jesus on the cross, "Father into your hands I commit my spirit"
The Holy Spirit or Spirit of God or Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is the Fathers very own Spirit. The Spirit of the only true God. The Spirit that dwells in Jesus without limit. (fullness)
The Fathers promise, "in the last days I will pour out MY Spirit.."
The Spirit Jesus sends in His name He received from the Father. Acts 2
Jesus=>for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. Matt 10:20
Jesus=>The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me for He has anointed me....
So this question, "Is Jesus God?" is answered thus
      He never dies
yes, He is all that the Father is
no, He has always been the Son
The head of the body of Christ=>Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent
Note the word Son and that the Son received authority from the only true God
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been GIVEN to me. THEREFORE go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the SON and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
It is the Father who glorifies Jesus.
Jesus inherited all things as from a parent. He received all authority. All that belongs to the Father belongs to the Son and Jesus has a place on His Fathers throne and is the ruler of Gods creation and the mediator of a new covenant between the Father and man. He has been found worthy of honor and power and glory forever by the Father.
Jesus has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God.

Jesus prayed to the Father, committed his spirit to the Father and many other things, because, Jesus had a human nature. He lived as a real man, not a avatar.

    Thinking out load
since Atoms give order because they are observed
all life has order therefor there is an observer
The only time we see Atoms behave different is in the Resurrection when Jesus rose with a new body
That body behaved different than other bodies ,ie can appear and disappear or walk through walls or rise into the air.
So the heavenly body does not consist of Atoms or Atoms work differently in a heavenly body.
so my questions are did Jesus when he rose take on his original heavenly body or a new body? Did he take on his original body when he went to the Father?or was it the resurrected body glorified?
Heaven after all is a created thing, so does heaven consist of Atoms too?
if Atoms are the building blocks of all creation, heaven included then God has to be outside of creation so do Atoms exist outside of creation .
when we become one with Jesus do we leave heaven and all creation to be one with God as I can't see why God would only exist inside of his creation!
Are Christians restricted to Heaven, if so how can we be one with God?
I was asked would heaven not get boring if it was for eternity, so got to thinking about eternity and what it is
thanks for reading and I hope someone out there in computer land has some insight on this.

i too have your first two questions, which are basically one question. and i genuinely looking for an answer. please let me know when you have the answer.
I wouldn't necessarily assume that atoms are the building blocks of any created thing. since god is omnipotent, it is but convenient that god can create creatures of different essence. I also wouldn't assume that people graced with heaven will have their same atom based bodies. unless someone knows otherwise.
Regarding eternity i quote the gentleman in this video "we cannot wrap our brain around eternity". so i would say, focus on the things that we can comprehend, the things we can exhaust (to an extent in some cases). and leave the unseen for the observer of the unseen.

The prophecies of the destruction of the Old Covenantal world (70 AD) come from the Old Testament books, eg.Daniel. The New Testament is the fulfillment of all things in the Old Covenant. Therefore it doesn't matter if the New Testament was written before or after 70 AD. There are no new prophecies in the New Testament. What you find in the N.T. is the FULFILLMENT of all things in the O.T.

The mystery behind Proverbs8:22 can be understood if we read St.Montfort reflection that there are Two Wisdom, the Uncreated Wisdom is Jesus Christ and there is the Created Wisdom and this is not Jesus but a personification only.
Next, we need to study the reflection of St.Kolbe in stating there are Two Immaculate Conception. The Uncreated Immaculate Conception is the Holy Spirit and the word "qanah" means the Holy Spirit created or born a Spirit of Created Immaculate Conception.
This is a profound mystery that God hidden from the wise esp.to satan and his demons, why?
The answer is wriiten in Genesis3:15. God declares war, and when God declares war He cannot reveals openly His Divine Plan. The Divine Plan of God were contained in the Spirit of Created Wisdom that was "qanah" by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus the Begotten Son of God received the Holy Spirit as His Anointing.
The mystery, Im going to share is...
Who is the created person who received the Spirit of Created Wisdom described in Proverbs8:22?
The answer is found in the Upper Room when all the Apostles & Disciples received the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in the form of anointing.
Who is the person who received the Sevenfold Gifts of the Holy Spirit perfectly and completely? thereby possessing the Spirit of Created Wisdom in Proverbs8:22 in full as Her anointing.
Do you know who is this person?
St.Liguori pointed to Her specifically as the "another Advocate"..
Anyone know who Im talking about?
"I AM the Immaculate Conception" is the answer.

    1. "proverbs 8 is about the wisdom of god" the text itself says no such thing.
    2. "Wisdom according to Paul is Christ"
god begot(!!!) wisdom, hence god begot Jesus.
well, I know that this is the work of real scholars who put much effort to explain and critique the bible and the doctrine, etc. and that myself is utterly ignorant on the matter. also of course i have no problem with inductive reasoning, otherwise i have problem with the majority of everything we know. But i have a problem (my problem) when every piece of information said in this video for example is based on another inductive information.
You say we cannot wrap our brain around eternity, i had an argument, but you simply dismissed it with such statement, and i agree, we cannot. However, we can conclude with so little effort that the son is dependent on the father, at least in the process of being begotten.
    Finally,
when i read the video title (that's what i wrote in google search), i cant help but add. True god from true god, that's two gods, one came from another. is this ok with christian belief or do i have another problem?

Jesus himself said I and the Father are one. And remember when Thomas saw Jesus after his death and resurrection, he said "my Lord and my God." Jesus did not try to correct him. Also, after Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well, she went and told people about the man that told her everything she had ever done. She was probably exaggerating but can you imagine that when we die, everything we've ever done will be shown to us? You probably cannot, but even more than that, can you imagine being shown the CONSEQUENCES of ALL your actions in this world and even your inactions? I do think about some of these questions myself but I do know there are things that the human mind cannot ever fully grasp.

It is not until He (the Divine Logos) assumes to Himself a human nature in space and time in 1st century AD Palestine, that He becomes Incarnate as Jesus Christ. It isn't a contradiction. You are confusing His existence, in His divine nature, as the eternally begotten Son, with His spatial / temporal Incarnation as a human being. Two natures (one divine, one human) in the one person of Jesus Christ.

Why true God from true God ? This is explained in this Jesus' interview:
I: "Dear Jesus, who is the omnipotent God?"
JESUS: "The Father seeks such people to worship Him. God is a spirit."
I: "I see: you mean that your Father is the omnipotent God and that He is also a spirit, ONE SPIRIT. Crystal clear: this means that God is just ONE spirit and not THREE IN ONE as generally claimed !"
I: "But if your Father is now a spirit, was He ALWAYS a spirit ?"
JESUS: "O righteous Father, the world has not known you...no one has ever seen God"
I: "Yes, I can figure out: your Father only existed in the past, this is why He is only a spirit now! This is why you "inherited" the reign of God (The Father loves the Son and has given ALL THINGS into His hand.)
I: "Well, how could we call now "God who is a spirit"? But of course: "the Spirit of God" ! Now I understand why "John saw the Spirit of God" (the Spirit of your Father) descend as a dove and say "this is my beloved Son.... !". EVERYTHING is now made by your Father who is a spirit...
I: "But WHERE is your Father, the almighty God NOW? God cannot die or disappear, of course !"
JESUS :"He who has seen me has seen the Father"
I: " So is it: you were the Father, you were Him! "Son" only means that you COME from the Father, not that you are like a real Son! Yes, it was really weird God having offspring !
But what is the difference between you and you beforehand, when you were the Father ?"
JESUS: "I can do nothing on my own"
I: " I see: this means that you lost your power in order to become exactly like a normal man! This of course means that for any miracle you must turn to the Father... yes, I can recall you thanking Him for the Lazarus' miracle...
I: " Well, we could say that you are not the omnipotent God anymore but also that you are not someone distinct from Him: you still are God, even if non-omnipotent..."
JESUS: "the Father is in me and I am in the Father"
I: But, who is in Heaven now ?
JESUS: " the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God"
I: "A pity, your Father is only in the past and He cannot be in heaven now: this is why you judge people when they die.
JESUS : "I shall set the sheep on my right hand, and the goats on the left."
I: "Being classified as a goat for eternity... dreadful ! Well, you are alone and only your Father's Spirit is next to you. Of course: you are God and only one God can exist..."

The firstborn of all creation=the first of Gods works. Jesus has always been the Son.
I don't know Arius nor do I quote his words even if they weren't destroyed.
The Holy Spirit could not be a created Spirit. Though Jesus speaks of that Spirit as separate from Himself the Father does not.
The Holy Spirit is the Fathers very own Spirit. The Spirit of God.
"Jesus" calls the Father the only true God. If Jesus always was and always was God how then do you believe in one God for Jesus stated on the cross, "Father into your hands I commit my spirit"?
Begotten before all worlds but not made. - I agree in part.
"If" the Father has a beginning it could not be by any other being.
Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.
As in all things its from the Father and through the Son.
yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.
How then can the Son be the radiance of Gods glory and the exact representation of Gods being in whom all things are held together?
The fullness was pleased to dwell in Him. (from the will of another)
I don't preach two Gods rather 1 God the Father and 1 Lord Jesus Christ. With the Holy Spirit being the Spirit of the Father.
...for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. Matt 10:20
You should also see that it is the Father who glorifies Jesus.
Jesus does not call the HS His Father.
They didn't forget to honor the HS for its the Fathers Spirit
To Him who sits on the thrown and the lamb..
One God the Father and One Lord Jesus Christ..
And the Spirit Jesus sends in His name He received from the Father. acts 2
Again in all things its from the Father through the Son.
That Son is the heir of ALL things as from a parent.
That Son received all authority from the one He calls the only true God and His God.
The Fathers promise-=>In the last days I will pour out "My Spirit"..
One day the whole world will become the Kingdom of God and HIS Christ.
The Son who was, His Spirit, was placed in the body that was prepared for Him. And the Spirit of the Father was living in Him doing His work and they were one in that manner.
About the Son who was in Hebrews. -
The fullness was pleased to dwell in Him.
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature, upholding all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. So He became as far superior to the angels as the name He has inherited is excellent beyond theirs
    Note the word Son
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

Why would God and Jesus be creating together? The creator created everything why would he need to form himself as his son and have him help him create? Catholicism is beautiful but I can’t help but see elements of paganism in the tributary belief.

You left out the holy spirit.. you have to understand trinity. GOD is triune. For example, say the Father, The Son, and the Holy spirit were all in one room and I walked in. If I said "Hello Father", the father would say hello. If is said "hello Jesus", Jesus was say hello. If I said "Hello holy spirit", the Holy Spirit would say hello. If I walked in and said "Hello God", all 3 would say hello at the same time. All are 100 percent God

The Father is the One who speaks the world into existence. The Son is the Divine Logos, the Word; the creative word that is spoken. The Holy Spirit is the meaning of the spoken Logos; the creative message of love.

Sir, go reread John 1:1-5, 14, 18. To be a "Father", YHWH "begets" that which He is (cf. John 1: 14, 18). Animals beget animals, humans beget humans, Divinity begets divinity. Historically and creed-ally, to be a "Christian", is to believe God is both one (in substance or essence) and three (in person: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). They aren't simply "names" or "titles" that speak about one and the same thing. THAT heresy is known as Sabellianism / "dynamic monarchianism" / modalism. It isn't Christian. What's more, IF you believe that, by definition, you aren't a Christian. God is the Father. God is the Son. God is the Holy Spirit. The Father is not the Son or the Holy Spirit. The Son is not the Father or the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not the Father or the Son. One God. Co-equal persons. Google the words "circumincession" and "perichoresis" (John 10:38; John 14:11; John 17:21).

YES, exactly, there IS one divine nature, co-equally and co-eternally shared by the three divine 'hypostases' [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit]. God is the Father. God is the Son. God is the Holy Spirit. The Father is not the Son or the Holy Spirit. The Son is not the Father or the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not the Father or the Son. The second 'hypostases', the Divine Logos, became Incarnate - fully divine, fully human - and defeated our ancient enemies [Satan, sin, and death]: "...and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us....". To me, it is simple math, sir. Father=1 PERSON; Son=1 person; Holy Spirit=1 person. ONE God[i. e. one divine 'substance'; one divine 'essence'], THREE divine persons['hypostases'].
It is the "Son" who is manifested in the flesh, He is the "only begotten Son" of God [cf. John 1: 1-5, 14, & 18].

Here's another example of Catholics' believing in unscriptural teachings. For instance, the Catholic Nicene Creed says that Jesus is "true God from true God," thus saying that there are _two_ true Gods. On the other hand, Jesus said at John 17:3 that his Father is "the *ONLY* true God." The word "only" means, "to the exclusion of others." Since the Father is the true God to the exclusion of others, how many other true Gods can there be? Answer: NONE!!
Just one question now. According to the Catholic Athanasian Creed, God is a trinity. As it says: "[The Father, Son, and holy spirit] are one God." So, if it takes three PERSONS to make one God, how can Jesus be "true God from true God"? Catholics don't have an answer to that question.

    • @Personaje123
      @Personaje123 2 года назад +1

True God from true God means that he is begotten. He is of the same substance as the father. And so Jesus is God just like the father is God.

@@Personaje123 "True God from true God" didn't come from the Bible. Instead, it came from the Nicene Creed. Of course, such nonsense was made up by the Catholic Church. At John 17:3, Jesus didn't just refer to his Father as "the true God." Instead, he called his Father "the ONLY true God." The word "only" means, "to the exclusion of others. So, since Jesus' Father is the true God to the exclusion of others, how many other true Gods can there be? Uh, NONE! Apparently, you missed my saying this when I first posted it.
"Jesus is God just like the father is God." Wrong again. Jesus' Father is also Jesus' God. As Jesus said to Mary: "I am ascending to MY Father and MY God." (John 20:17) Paul agreed, saying: "We always give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." (Cpl. 1:3)
Oh, and Jesus is not God; he's the Son of God. As Peter said to Jesus: "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God." (Matt. 16:16)
"[Jesus] is of the same substance as the father."
Really? Where does your Bible say that? Let me answer for you. NOWHERE!! Trinitarian terms like "substance" and "essence" were borrowed by the Catholic Church from pagan Greek philosophy. As the Catechism of the Catholic Church says: "In order to articulate the dogma of the Trinity, the Church had to develop her own terminology with the help of certain notions of [pagan Greek[ philosophical origin: "substance" (rendered also at times by "essence" or "nature"), "person" or "hypostasis", "relation" and so on."
