    Moderate light exposure from electronic devices may be causing you to go blind in ways even Stevie Wonder would warn against.
    Sure, you can be a visionary even without your eyesight, but why ruin it with the use of your cell phone and computer?
    The Chesapeake Bay Waterman Study found that even fishermen who stared out over water reflecting the sun’s rays suffered macular degeneration - or damage to the retina.
    But, even if light doesn’t have the intensity of sunlight, the brightness can cause our eyes to become fatigued as they are trying to adjust to the level of “sudden” illumination.
    How often have you reached for your cellphone in the middle of the night only to feel like you were literally being blinded by its brightness. This feeling wasn’t just a hunch. Long-term exposure to sudden bright light from your cellphone or computer screen can damage your eyes.
    It’s got a fancy name - photo-oxidative damage - when light reacts with the retina to produce molecules that are reactive to the surrounding molecules in the eyes - but all you need to know is that these sudden bright lights can be harmful to your eyes.
    Little Stevie Wonder was a 12-year old musical prodigy without sight, but you needn’t join him by losing your own. Turn down the brightness of your cell phone or computer at night, or allow your eyes to adjust to light slowly. You’ll save your vision, and get to keep your illuminated genius, too.

      A phone can help you in a lot of ways... The only reason why they say that is because they don't experience what we're experiencing they're not seeing what we're seeing. As they say seeing is believing. They think that we're doing nothing wasting our life because they're not seeing us do anything but stare at our phones... Unlike their days which was filled with stuff like reading books,writing on notebooks, and outside almost all the time. We can do those things using our phones but they don't acknowledge that fact, simply because they didn't experience it. Some parents say our phones are harming us because of it's radiation but in fact eating 5-10 pieces of bananas gives us almost the same amount of radiation we get per hour using our phone. One time when I was studying for tests on my phone doing too much research on the point where I was tired, my father came in with his belt yelling at me saying im wasting my life on my phone instead of reviewing for my tests... We had a heated argument then my mom came in explaining everything but he still didn't believe it so she prepared a test for me containing everything I had on my search history. Considering I just read them it was all fresh information so I got a perfect score. He still didn't believe us but atleast he doesn't bother me when I'm reviewing.

    I've discovered something very worrying when I bought a gift for my bro, which was an expensive welding "chameleon" helmet that has a visor that automatically goes dark as soon as you look at something that is too bright for your eyes. While I was testing it I looked at my mobile phone - and visor went dark in instant. Every single time. Too bright for our eyes. Yet we stare at our phones for hours at the time, often in the dark. If welding helmet thinks that mobile phone screen is as harmful as a bright welding spark - shouldn't we start worrying, as with this degree of light exposure macular degeneration will eventually set in, leading to a probable severe vision loss? 🤔

    • @sweetdestruxion
      @sweetdestruxion Год назад

      LCD screens, sunglasses, and welding shields typically contain a polarizing filter for the same reason: to make it easier for you to see clearly, especially in bright sunlight.
      What tends to happen is your polarized sunglasses do their job by only allowing light to pass through vertically. Meanwhile, your phone screen emits horizontally vibrating light while blocking vertical light.
      Your lenses and screen end up counteracting each other by working in opposite directions. As a result, you wind up seeing a dark or blacked-out image.

      @1F694_ it's a simple Google search. I put on a pair of polarizing sunglasses one day and pulled out my phone and couldn't see the screen, thought my phone died. Happened to pull it out again later with the glasses off and it was fine. Put the glasses back on to check and sure enough it went dark. Googled it and found out how it worked.

      Hahaha me too.. my dad's phone brightness is always in maximum and it's too bright for me .. so whenever i borrowed his phone i always lowered it and he will scolded me.. "why is it so low? You can't see anything on this.".. LIKE DAD? IT'S TOO BRIGHT YOU KNOW..
      *sorry for my english😘

    That's a complete myth. In order to be harmful in any way, blue light would have to be extremely bright. The blue light from our phones isn't bright enough to cause any sort of damage. The worst it can do is temporary strain the eyes. Please do your reasearch next time.

    What if u have a screen that is so freaking bright so if u turn it down it still is bright.. I have 2 screens and the other is ok. Ima just use that screen xD

  • @APTECHTV
    @APTECHTV 5 лет назад +1

    just turn your brightness down, plus if you are using an LCD screen, turning down the brightness not only protect your eye, it also gives deeper black(color on screen), just like an OLED screen.

    All facts are true in the given video, but it doesn't fit with the video title. Sure, your theme is of 2 minutes, but instead of saying "Does Electric Device's Light Damage our eyes", saying "How much of an effect does max brightness at night affects us" is better as from someone who hasn't seen the video will get the exact response the viewer from.
    All in all, Good video. Liked
