the thing about the correct posture is that there isn't any perfect posture when you're in it for a long time. So a much better thing is to try and change the way you sit, maybe sometimes stand up, every 10 minutes or so.
* Dry eyes were a constant source of discomfort for me until my doctor recommended StillerSafe's Zero Eye Strain laptop screen for my laptop and smartphone. The change has been incredible. Now, I can effortlessly spend 10 hours a day working on my laptop without experiencing any dryness or irritation. The dryness has completely vanished, and to my surprise, even my facial skin dryness issue has disappeared. Frankly, I'm convinced that there's no better alternative available.
I arrived at many of the same conclusions but some I was unsure about. I live on a smaller sailboat so 20 feet requires either looking out small windows during day or opening hatch at night to view an object 20 feet away. But my night vision isn't great so that would casue eye strain. On top of the eye strain I have only one good eye so depth perception and blur around text has always been an issue. I've never had corrective lenses despite the cornea transplant at age 16. The eye injury lead to a cataract to form and the cornea transplant. The bad eye has floaters which my eye tries to focus on whether I want to or not, adding to strain. On top of all of that, I have spent last few months writting 220 pages of a book and at same time learning a 3D software(for animation and other). The countless tutorials I watched to learn the softweare are often compressed videos on youtube and the 1080p is more like 480 on many of them. My eyes are killing me. I just want to sleep so they don't hurt. Further surgury to fix cornea transplant issues would be around 30k. I show no signs of eye issues beyond that so simply getting glasses would do nothing but magnify screen. Plan to upgrade screen and hope that helps.

If you try to relax on PC in the evening with some youtube videos or something, then filtering out blue light will help you fall asleep easier. Doesn't directly affect eye strain, never even heard anyone assume that. New Windows also has a "Night light" mode and you can instantly see and feel the difference.
I've had two different optometrists suggest the 20-20-20 rule, but I absolutely NEVER remember to do it consistently. Otherwise, I think it works well. Just remember to actually DO it .😂
Ambient lighting! I like dark rooms for playing games and watching movies but now I am older I can't get away with it as much. Fixed it by adding background lighting, You want it out of direct sight and have it roughly the same brightness as the screen, Colour can be anything you want but you will find yellows, orange are easy on the eyes as it's more like natural sunlight. I added some philips Hue play bars behind my 2 front speakers at each side of tv reflecting onto the wall, I added an RGB lightstrip behind my computer monitor which also reflects onto the wall to give ambient lighting and reduce eyestrain. You could also add led strips behind desk or in another part of room out of direct sight. Plenty of ways to do it but lighting behind the screen in some form will give best results for reducing eyestrain, The other obvious thing is to take breaks and look off into the distance and stare preferably outside in daylight, Your eye muscles will relax. If you are a computer geek like me you may also have light sensitive eyes, Need to get outside and shut your eyes and look up into the sky near the sun, Get them used to light again and have more blood flow into that region, Just make sure to be safe about it and DON'T look directly at sun with eyes open.

Eye dryness and accommodative burden are likely the primary contributors to eye strain when using a computer. Vision correction that helps ease the burden on the ciliary muscles can help. Multifocal contacts may be good as they are not gaze dependent like progressive eyeglasses.
As an optician I can confirm that blue light filter glasses are kind of a scam, their effect is mostly placebo. Even some lens manufacturers don't believe in their helpfulness. You should never let anyone tell you to get glasses just for the blue light filter. If you need glasses anyways, i wouldn't pay more than 10 percent extra for the filter.

You are wrong about the blue light. I can prove it. Next time your eyes are strained, use the Windows Night Mode and slide the adjustment back and forth. You will easily notice that your eyes feel much better the more you remove blue from the screen. This will also show you that most blue-blocker glasses don't remove enough blue light to make any difference.
hey! I really appreciate your confidence and your approach to prove the fact about blue light. But blue light glasses and filters work (if at all) through Placebo. When you adjust to the night mode it can provide you relief by minimizing the contrast between the environment and the screen. As far as I see it blue light has been unfairly accused of eye strains, purely based on subjective experiences. Scientific studies have failed to establish a direct causative relationship between eye strain and blue light. But I like the way you are thinking. May be take it one step more and try to find confounding factors of your experiment.

I have photobia too,eye starts burning in sunlight. I spend about 6 hrs on computer and 4hrs on phone. My eyes are often dry ,tear drops don't work . Vision dont improve even on sundays when i don't have work . Do i have computer syndrome or refractive errors ?
i have astigmatism and near sightedness...still can see far objects better..no eye strain without specs. but while using pc eyes get stressed within 5min of usage. do i need to wear specs while on pc?...also i dont have eye issue while using mobile phone for hours that too without specs
Why you don't mention this is caused by IPS screen problem? All laptops are IPS screen after 2019, this is the most disgusting type of screen panel ever, it pretend like more vie angle and colour, but actually just use a more bright luminating panel, use 3 multiplied luminating to get same brightness with a low contrast ratio. And the IPS panel will make blue light and UV light. Even you buy a screen protector, it can only decrease 30% eye strain while these filter claimed themself as filter 96% eye strain. It's not about PWM, IPS panel will make you eye strain, can't sleep, if you use it long time, it will make you can't focus sight and can't see at night. It's not adaptable.
Blue light lenses almost a scam, as they don't protect, but help to regulate sleeping patterns. If you have problem to fall asleep after using computer screens, then they can help, but they won't save you vision.
thats not correct, artificial blue light can degenerate the maculars. there is a direct correlation between people who live in artificial city light conditions and increased ocurance of AMD
Thank you for the honest feedback. 20-20-20 works. That's a fact. But it doesn't mean that everyone will benefit from it. As I elaborate in the video, If these steps don't work for you, then you should definitely see a doctor (ophthalmologist). May be you are having a refractory error, etc, etc. Appreciate the feedback.
@@TinyMedicine My problem even doctor wasn't able to solve which grew severe over time ...Stillersafe screen protector reduced my strain by 60 percent now trying Occushield..

I bet close to 90 % of people will not believe you "blue rays" from a screen are not harming the eyes. Massive propaganda by the optical industry to sell extra glasses ... proofs how ridiculously easy people are manipulated.

i have a problem with the huge lights !!! think about i cant even go out on cloudy days without my sunglasses !!! i feel my eyes got fire !!!! but some ophthalmologist tells me that is not a problem and its normally for people who have light colours on their eyes like me !!! people with green/blue/grey eyes etc !!!! cause the light colour eyes absorbs more light than the others !!!! so they tells be to keep wearing my sunglasses !!!
Should I set the contrast of my screen to 100%?
I got eye scans. Nothing wrong. I wake up with eye strain and it burns within one minute of computer use. 202020 rule doesn't work for me cause it hurts before 20 min even ends
No refractive errors of the eyes?
If it's that severe, definitely suggest channeling an ophthalmologist.
@@TinyMedicine refractive as in?
@@OranguBANG maybe like myopia, astigmatism(?) Did you really go to an ophthalmologist and get basic medical check up?

Can gaming be as bad for the eyes as welding though ?
which type of coating is effective for preventing digital eye strain?
Is it the same thing for cellphones and playing videogames for hours?
In the same boat ha, eye strain for 5 years everyday that never goes away.
How about not using distance vision eyes or glasses for close up viewing, give the ole eyes some help/relief
2:41 I think dark room is not good man ?😢
thanks.❤
i have a strange awareness that "my eyes are there" they feel heavy dry and exhausted..also photophobia and "pressure" between my eyes and on my forehead(wandering) is this CVS? will it ever go away?
also problem with vision like i can hardly focus
Do you have it now

Blue light only keeps you awake at inappropriate times, as far as I know
That's a stupid rule. I mean, sure, it works, but I don't live in a house made of glass to look at something so distant. So I have to walk to the window every 20 minutes? That doesn't sound so convenient
20 feet = 6 meters. It’s like looking a distant wall in your house. No need for moving out of the chair
thanks
Yes yes yesterday
I had lasik 5 years ago . I had perfect vision. For the past 3-4 months have problem reading pdf texts smaller and larger, looks like eyes cant focus . I have photobia too,eye starts burning in sunlight. I spend about 6 hrs on computer and 4hrs on phone. My eyes are often dry ,tear drops don't work . Vision dont improve even on sundays when i don't have work . Do i have computer syndrome or refractive errors ?
20-20-20 is somewhat reasonable. A 20 minute break every two hours isn't
Good video, but those typing sounds you added in are incredibly distracting and annoying. Sound is incredibly important for your compositions!
is this the same with the visual terminal displacing syndrome?
Sitting straight is not ergonomic, visual is wrong and studies prove that sitting straight long term damages your back.
Eh, you forgot the basic fact about Computer brightness. Having too much light, will create sleeping problems, yada yada.
I have myopia, should I be wearing my glasses for close computer work?
Probably not (since computer screen is considered near distance). But I can't give you medical opinion; so better to ask it from your doctor.
i have astigmatism and near sightedness...still can see far objects better..no eye strain without specs. but while using pc eyes get stressed within 5min of usage. do i need to wear specs while on pc?...also i dont have eye issue while using mobile phone for hours that too without specs
Does this help vertigo too
First, other causes for vertigo must be excluded. A slight dizziness can be a symptom of digital eye strain, but not true vertigo.
Not really a cure. Just preventative measures. But thanks anyways
thankyou :))
Blue light lenses almost a scam, as they don't protect, but help to regulate sleeping patterns. If you have problem to fall asleep after using computer screens, then they can help, but they won't save you vision.
If "computer vision syndrome" is a real problem for you, just grab some OTC readers (+1.00 will work for most just fine). Eye strain improved.
thats not correct, artificial blue light can degenerate the maculars. there is a direct correlation between people who live in artificial city light conditions and increased ocurance of AMD
Sorry but it is the same old thing which doesn't work
Thank you for the honest feedback.

Me, as someone who had the perfect vision but staying many hours in front of computer without any issue until...I started a job and in a month I started having headache and I went to a doctor I was diagnosed with astigmatism and I started wearing glasses. I spent the most money to get the best lenses for protection just to discover last year I also have cataract :( The thing I fear the most I couldn't escape. FML.
Why cataract though? Are you diabetic?
@@TinyMedicine nope. I really don't know honestly, I also suffer from Hipotiroidism but that's could not be the cause.
I bet close to 90 % of people will not believe you "blue rays" from a screen are not harming the eyes.
Massive propaganda by the optical industry to sell extra glasses ... proofs how ridiculously easy people are manipulated.
Im gaming at least 8 hours a day since 2013, my eye vision is little blurred and it does not go away after hours break, is my vision possible to fix without glasses? Will the blur stay forever?
