Love the interview, I mean Tom Hanks' journey is inspiring! And I love this podcast. But is it just me or does anyone else feel like the "Coming Up" foreshadowing clips are a bit distracting as the conversation is going on? I have been an ardent listener of the podcast for years, this is where I come to learn. So now when I'm deeply listening to what the guest is saying I get distracted by the interjections, kinda like with ads, which then takes my mind off what they are saying and I lose track. Just thought I'd share this feedback and see if it is just me experiencing the same.

He just has a presence about him, genuinely seems like a people person and that soothing voice has made him millions!! He’s the poster boy of the American “Hollywood dream”. Anyone born during the 80’s-90’s, have been watching him on the big screen for an entire lifetime. There’s no going back from setting the bar at the Forrest Gump level: PURE AFFECTION!!! Combined with Woody from Toy Story? I will never forget that little cowboy, but you can’t picture him - without hearing Tom Hanks voice. He stole our American hearts for good going solo and talking to “Wilson” on the beach ?! I mean… 🎉🎉🎉

Grown up with Tom Hanks movies!! My earliest memories consist of BIG, The Burbs, The Money Pit, Forrest Gump, Turner & Hooch, Splash, Sleepless in Seattle ect… I loved this chat.
I love how he ended with the “experience” of movies. My first movie experience was seeing Joe vs the Volcano in our small town theater at 10 yrs old. Mr Hanks, my adoration for you has only grown stronger since then. Bless you both for another incredibly amazing experience, HERE and now.

I was born before Soviet Union collapsed, communists had forbidden people not only to read what they wanted but to listen to the music, speak native languages, believe in God, keep traditions, dress and even think differently... I have retired for many years and played music 🎶 with many famous musicians and this podcast has got me back into writing songs again and I would appreciate Jay if you could give my thanks to Tom. I am 70 and was raised in Sacramento California and Tom’s life is just like mine for my parents divorced at 5 and seen many houses before I learned to travel light.
