    1. I once had the very fastest T2 transition elite and age group at the Reading Triathlon, even beating Alistair & Jonathan Brownlee!
    2. Pizza eating competition: 39 slices of Pizza in 60 minutes in Victoria London. Not recommended felt ill for 48 hours afterwards!
    3. 3rd fastest time up London’s telecom tower live on BBC Christmas day TV, 4 mins 54 seconds for 900 steps (3 steps per second!)
    4. 1,000 press ups in 28 minutes & 41 seconds!

    Sports teacher said “Mark you could never run a marathon” 10 years later he ran in the first London marathon (1981) and has the running endurance bug ever since!
    Mark has covered more than 100,000 kilometres running and has completed more than 800 running events and run 71 marathons faster than 3 hours with a personal best of 2:24:40.
    Other odd events
    “Race to the top”3rd fastest time to run up the Telecom Tower 900 steps 650 feet in 4 minutes 54 seconds (3 steps a second) live on BBC on Christmas day.
    5th best position: Multi storey car park race (run up to the top then back down again)

    London marathon 9 x times.

    Local Hardwick X-stream trail and run across a stream multiple times, sometimes mud up to knees.
    Unique triathlon experience: Escape from Alcatraz San Francisco (swim from prison by jumping off a boat swimming back in freezing cold water then cycling up or down the streets of san Francisco then running to the golden gate bridge and back
    Proudest moments:
    After 6 attempts finally achieved my ambition to run sub 7 hours (6:56) for Road running London Big Ben strikes 7 am and running Brighton pier before 2pm touching the entrance to Brighton Pier!
    3rd overall in the first London triathlon 1984.
    Toughest Physical Triathlon: Longest distance Triathlon Triple iron distance, no stopping no sleeping covering 675km swimming cycling and running taking 45 hours 58 minutes and 29 gruelling seconds. - not helped by the fact it snowed and rained for 36 hours+
    Ironman (iron distance) Triathlons: 44 = 3 x sub 10 hours - 23 times sub 12 hours - Slowest Ironman Norway 2018 13:52 2 x Iornman world triathlon champs Kona Finisher. Coached & mentored more than 30+ to qualify for Kona.
    Other sporting achievements:
    Held the fastest combined time for the London Classic, Swim 2 miles Serpentine - Cycle ride London 100 mile & London marathon
    8 hours 27 mins 7 seconds!

    That's a very impressive list of achievements! 😅
    I have a close friend who is a cyclist, we always joke that if could find a good swimmer we'd have a decent triathlete between us 😂

      @@RunWithJulia Certainly! I'm off to the Northern 12 Stage Road Relays on Saturday. I'm planning to dig out the race day shoes and give it a good go! 🌠

      @@RunWithJulia Back from a very windy Northern Road Relays. Initially I was selected for a short leg, but due to logistical issues (gridlock traffic) I was asked to run a long. Remembering the learnings from your videos of plans changing, I was able to complete the 8km leg (7.7km a little short) in 27:57 at a pace of 3:38/km or 5:50/mile. Wonderful day out if not perfect weather conditions, but as you know I'm used to that! 🌪😂

      @Stevenc1984 Wow! Congratulations 🎊 Great running! 👍 Especially having to adjust plans as you went !! And from short to long, too!! A harder change !
      I used to love running relays and remember watching the Southern 12 stage back in the day when Nige ( H1) was running it 🙏🏻 Fabulous ! And in the wind! 🙌
