    Thats my husband Guitar Legend Dick Dale...The Creator and Pioneer of Surf/Rock music in 1955 and Pioneer and Creator of the Fender equipment with then like second father Leo Fender marking 61+ years in the business.
    DD is the first to create his genre of music and plays all kinds of music since 1955 starting on Town Hall Party with all the greats!

      totally agree, big cheerz, no jeers from me.
      Anyone with a Strat or Fender amp must show all do respect for Dick, as well as his great invented style, he paved the way for so many, and beats Elvis by a loooong mile.

      We really miss him coming to Durty Nellie's in Palatine Illinois... the great man that he was he came there when he was obviously, and visibly so sick he should have been home in bed, but he came there to play for us anyway... We love Dick Dale, and we'll always remember him fondly.

    I also love those intermittent squeals he does in some of his songs. He appropriately named his guitar THE BEAST which is only fitting the way he makes it sound. YES SIR, he was one of a kind. There will NEVER be another like him.

    As a Drummer, Saxophonist, Trumpeteer. Harmonica player and vocalist-Dick Dale was one HELL of a Guitarist!

    Dick was a World-Class innovator and a non-surpassed musician. People such as Mr. Dale only come around once in a lifetime, if we're lucky! Thank you, Dick! You'll always be a major contributor to American music and our cherished lifestyle! God Bless you, and Rest in Peace.

    This is the best hint of the talent of Dick Dale. I read where he's having internal health issues while he tours. I'm just so glad to see succeeding generations see one of the founders of the Fender telecaster legend while he can still play. Like Chuck Berry, Les Paul and others, Dick began playing jazz but found his fountain of youth in surf music. However, another video interview explains how musically inclined he was, learning horn, drums, organ with equal zeal and exuberance. I knew in '62 what ability he had but rarely found a way to capitalize on it. Long live this legend! Keep on!

    I can tell you weren't around in the 60's When the best of guitars were making this sound and it led to what is around now, which you cannot hear because it is blurry and mushy stuff. Remember, Dick was doing this in 1963 and 64, probably long before you were even imagined. He has also had a serious bout with cancer so have some respect.

  • @petermarquard5107

    Kinda unfair to judge Dick by this clip. I understand the money aspect of going on the road with a full band but Dick was just overpowering when he fronted the Deltones...a full rock and roll band. A lot of surf music contains minor chords that aren't there with just bass and drums. A lot of his music simply doesn't translate to a trio. I would guess he's a bit out of practice since, in his better days, he never missed a note. His stunning version of "Miserlou" actually evolved over the years and he could pull it off even with just minimal backing. I used to go up to him after every show I saw and he was always cordial. Invented the genre of surf music. Long Live Dick Dale!

    Can't help but get a kick out of the 5 dollar penalties he was putting on the bass player for not paying attention to what Mr. Dale was switching the song to. These old school stars demand you never stop watching them. You should always watch them and expect them to change the routine. They want the freedom of changing their mind from night to night. Song to song. If you stop watching the front man, that will be the moment he decides to change what he's doing and you miss the cue. Dick is nice and only taking 5. James brown would fire anyone at anytime.

    • @mikeincalifornia
      @mikeincalifornia 5 лет назад +2

      There are some clips of him not only fining the bass player but collecting the five dollars right on the spot, right in the middle of the song, pocketing it with one hand, while playing with the other, never missing a note. He's one of a kind, that's for sure.

      QuillPen77 He's a real hardass apparently

    • @manring7008
      @manring7008 9 лет назад +1

      zimonslot yeah I've seen him a few times over the decades. He is indeed a hardass despite being the most pitiful performer up there. Agent Orange drummer played for him awhile and spoke of how around this time or slightly later he "metalized"'all of his newer stuff. Drummer said if he played a classic surf beat like everybody wanted to hear, he was fired.
      Probably something dick liked about buddy rich or somebody from the old world so he picked it up, with the docking.
      But yeah it's getting really bad even last time I saw him ten years ago. You should hear what a mockery dick made out of vocals like Folsom prison, switching around all the lyrics in the different verses and ending on the wrong part. I figured it was just age. That doesn't seem like a confound here in 94.
      yeah he's already fucking up pipeline- arguably the easiest sing in rocknroll... He couldn't hire players sloppier than himself.
      Unfortunately by now in 2015, I think I does show signs of dementia or Alzheimer's
