    "Other than myself, no one else is confused." Nice playthrough. It seems like there is a lot to keep track of with Venom. BTW, I just got my copy today. I'll start the campaign tomorrow :)

      @Jonathan Weeks Yes, this set really has several things to track and remember triggers ... and then rules interpretations. I may have got this one all wrong ... or I may be right. I don't know, I'm confused. ;)
      Anyway, Hope you have some great gaming ahead of you!!

    Rules explanations/clarifications/mistakes:
    1. I may have misinterpreted the "You" on Venom's character card to be the identity, not the player. Something like, "After damage is dealt to Venom from an attack, deal the players identity a boost card." would have helped be more clear for me.

    • @wittebaard
      @wittebaard 2 года назад

      So when attacking with allies, you would've needed to grab additional boost cards right? Because that's how I interpreted it, that's why I only used events to damage him since they don't count as a card you control.

    • @DaletheCasualGamer
      @DaletheCasualGamer  2 года назад +1

      @@wittebaard Events with the Attack keyword would count too. I played on "easy mode". ;)

      I’m not entirely sure about that. I interpreted it as when you play an attack action, it’s allowing your identity to do the damage, which is a card you control. I hope Caleb clarifies this though because I’m not really certain which interpretation is correct.

    • @jeremymullen7097

      Venom's card says "attack and damage with a card you control", and the rules define control as any card in your play area, deck, hand, and discard pile, so if it's an Event card with the word "attack", then Venom's Forced Response comes into play.
      NOTE: This is different than the words "deal damage", like on Tac Team or Miles' Venom Blast....these actions would not trigger the Forced Response.

    attack and damage venom with "a card you control" .
    ally is a card in control?
    for example
    reality stone ability , discard an ally , upgrade ,or support "you control".

    • @DaletheCasualGamer
      @DaletheCasualGamer  2 года назад

      I definitely could be wrong. Rules are definitely open to interpretation. According to the rules reference, in my opinion, when the game asks "You" to discard or draw it refers to the player. Otherwise, "You" is your identity which also counts upgrades and events played from your hand. "You" does not count supports and allies.
      If that is what they wanted I wish they would have just said, "After damage is dealt to Venom from an attack, deal the players identity a boost card."
      So is "You" talking about the player, or the identity and cards the identity controls or the player. I don't know. Just playing the game the best I can.

    I took a hiatus from the game and jumped back in with the Sinister Motives expansion. Playing the Venom scenario today it was a little daunting keeping track of all the effects. Between the Bell 🛎, the boost cards and the usual encounter card shenanigans it felt like a bit much. Maybe it’s just me though being a little out of practice.
    I am so excited for the Mutant Genesis expansion(just announced today!)-still my favorite game of all time overall but yeah, some scenarios are a little more labor intensive then others!

      Glad you're back to the game! I know many players really love the set, but I can see where the extra accounting and trigger upkeep can take away from the game. And after a normal day at work, I'm done with accounting. :)

    Well done.
    Now is this a scenario tacked onto a theme or a theme glommed onto a scenario? Either way it’s a nice fit. The extra boost faff is a pain and the expansions additional faffinage is just getting started.
    I wonder if FFG will ever give us a replacement for those poor green “everything” counters. Talk about working a double duty.

    Hi Dale, keep up the good work. I noticed a few rules mishaps. As you already know as I saw you comment on it, at 10:10 Ghost Spider should have taken another boost card when her ally SM UK attacked as it is a card she controls. Not taking a boost for ally attacks happens again later and I presume the entire time-I did not have time to watch the entire video. At about 14:41, Spider Man attacked but you took no boost card.
