"Professor" Kit. I agree that many times fruits and vegetables are used interchangeably. However, e.g. cucumber, zucchini, peppers (bell, chilli,m etc.), tomatillos, and many other fruits are used as vegetables. Conversely, many vegetables are used as fruits, other than rhubarb. As well, people do not know/realise that most of what they call nuts are in fact seeds and peanuts are really legumes, the same as peas, beans, and lentils.

You mostly see rhubarb used as a dessert. Could Hugh have meant use it as the vegetable it is in a main course and not dessert course?
