    Really that is the best knitting channel ive ever seen
    U know what is the best about yours that u teach clearly not soudless and u give us sth like postive energy while u re saying the instructions
    And i will really like if u could add how to do a blanket or a skirt or even a sweater it will really helps and it will give us alot of useful information like what is the best stitch border and how to make the border stretchy as well as reading the patterns
    But first of all i must tell you thanks 100000 times for your videos

    I loved your video. Very clear and looks like I could probably do it but could you explain how you add the other color. Do you get it from the same working yarn ball every other row? You don't cut off a tail every time you end a row do you? Do you just pick it up the next row your going to be that color assuming it's going to be every other color. Maybe you can tell me which video shows that.. Sorry, I am a beginner and I'm just not exactly sure.

  • @melanieshepherd7038

    this is really a lovely stitch pattern and quite easy - but just a few tips before you begin with this stitch - if your tension is tight, you will need to loosen up a bit or else the P3tog, YO p3tog, can be a bit of pain - also if you do find that somewhere along the line (like I did ) that you lost 1 or stitches and you land up pulling out a few rows - make sure that you pull out until this row " once you picked your stitches up - you must start with a knit row - in other words row 1 or 3

    • @melanieshepherd7038
      @melanieshepherd7038 6 лет назад

      Actually, I've now tried again - if you find you have to pull out, then it seems you have to pull everything out - picking up stitches just makes you loose the entire pattern - i can see a clear distinct row thats not the same as the rest :(

    I love this stitch, and I'm making a baby blanket. But I can't see from your video what to do with the yarn when you change colors. Do you snip if off and weave it in later? Do you let it hang and pick it up the next time. If I don't snip it off when changing colors, I am overwhelmed with yarn coming from all directions. Please any ideas will be appreciated! Thanks!

    I'm teaching myself to knit and watching videos of different stitches and patterns to try to understand what I'm doing a little better.
    Which leads me to my question, when you purl, do you always put the yarn on the needle counter clockwise? Or is that just for this stitch? I've been struggling with the Stockinette stitch and I'm wondering if it's because I'm not purling correctly.

    • @studioknit

      +Carol Curtis It would depend on the size of yarn you were using. Many blankets use afghan yarn which, being quite light, uses smaller needles. The yarn shown in this video appeared to be worsted weight, and the needle size looked to be a US size seven or eight. (That, or I'm very bad at guessing.) When in doubt, find a yarn you like and use the recommended size of needle (usually it's listed on the label.)
