You don't have to control the brake, the vehicle will do for you. P.S. I am the one that designed and implemented the movement control during parking on these trucks(not the steering part)

I'm wondering if the perpendicular parking assist can still work if you're in a tight parking garage where there isn't a lot of clearance on the side opposite the spot.

21 Escalade here sport platinum, fully loaded, dual exhaust put on at the dealer, fridge, night vision, supercruise you don’t control the brake the truck brakes for itself. Just an FYI you can control the brake yes.

irrelevant question... did you do ceramic coating on the interior of the car? I have the same exact model with the "fabric" door panels and i have no clue how to protect it
We had the dealership do a fabric / interior protection treatment with warranty. I don’t know the specific product they used unfortunately
If only there was a button for double parking because this vehicle is one that is acceptable to do that due to the price.

Is this Park Assist only available with the SuperCruise option?
It came with the Technology Package as an option on my new 2024 XT6 Sport. I don’t have the Supercruise option.

That’s odd you have to control the brake. Our 23 XT6 moderates on its own and just says when to put it in drive and reverse
I don’t think you have to on ours either, it was just a reflex

Very slow self parking mode i do better myself and my Chrysler Pacifica do better but nice to have
It is nice to have but the feature is not something I would likely use as I am more than comfortable parking pretty much any vehicle
Yes, Chrysler Pacifica is hella faster and more accurate especially in the perpendicular arena. That process was stupid and for a 100g car, I'd expect more.

Never fails to amaze me that most women want to drive fancy cars but have no idea how they work. Neither for the features and certainly never for how they do anything mechanically. Most women tend to drive their cars and not even THINK of maintenance. They use them like purses.
In this example, The car flawlessly parked itself and he response was "I don't like it!". Now either she was being facetious or she really meant it, or somewhere in the middle. But I'm willing to bet she will forget this feature even exists.
One thing about technology, is that there is often a small to steep learning curve for features to become actually useful. And most people do not want to learn, even if it makes their lives easier. You'll never beat the computer, assuming the computer has all the data it needs to render a good result. But in particular women. They just don't want to bother reading the owners manual. its too much of a chore for them evidently.
