I learned to do this while in the military.
They call it napalm
Jelled gas
But they used laundry detergent not ground up bars of soap. Can you imagine that guy that would have to grind up a bunch of bars of soap? Not vey fast. I learned from the same place during Vietnam.
Yea me too
It's called Napalm. A little less soap. It sticks to anything like crazy. U. S. used it big time in Viet Nam.
Also in ww2 and Korea
Can also be made with gasoline and styrefoam ( likely spelled it wrong but you know what im speaking of).
I heard that you dissolve styrofoam in the gas til it wont dissolve any more.
Napalm isn't soap and gas is Styrofoam and gas

Robert Duvall loves this aroma.
Music please!!

LMAO!!
Napalm of 1943. Ivory flakes then.
Styrofoam for the poor boy mix.
Sure
Napalm has gas and diesel mixed together aluminum salts ,polystyrene and benzine .
Original was naphthenic and palmitic acid mixed with gasoline and benzene. . Fallbrook type uses polystyrene as a thickener. Neither type uses aluminum salts but they did add phosphorus so it wouldn't go out if you jumped in to water
I always heard it had sulpher in it and it had to be heated.

And it makes a great underarms deodorant too. Look for it at , Bed Bath, and Garage Lol 😂, just a little humor there. I never knew this combination. Super torch fuel. Thank you neat idea 💡.
Couldn't find the store (Bed Bath & Garage) to order it from, but I managed to improvise.
Those glue sticks they sell can take a while to wash out in the shower when they're used as a deodorant roll on, but mixing the glue sticks with benzine seems to have gotten around that problem now.
But hey, thanks for the tip anyway.
That is awesome. This old dog just learned a new trick. Thanks for sharing.
I had forgotten about this learned that in the 60s. Thanks for the reminder
Yeah, I learned it in the 70's.
Smells like victory
Great movie!!!
I somehow feel dumber
Well if you feel that way, then you must indeed be dumber😅

Why because you don't know basic alchemy
I don't think some of the posters watched the video. They are scolding the video maker telling us that it will ruin the car's fuel system. Did anyone see him put it in a fuel tank of any kind? After reading these comments I had to rewatch the video. Just asking because I tend to miss things sometimes. Also I am pretty sure that anyone that has had at least a Readers Digest version of internal combustion fuel systems and gasoline or even 2 brain cells to rub together would never consider putting soap in their fuel tank!
Soap can be used as a temporary repair to a leaking fuel tank though. Mix it into a stiff paste with water and pack it into and around the leak for a get you out of trouble repair 👍🏻🇬🇧
the only exercise some people get is from jumping to conclusions
Hay , low I Q politicians could read this , So .
This gunk would never leave the tank. No fuel pump would move or and it would not sucked or pushed through fuel lines, fuel injectors, or even a carburetor. People are simply stupid to even think this is a possibility. LOL
@@AJ-qn6gddon't have to mix it just rubb, soap bar on hole
I think the dude just invented Napalm again...
That would make starting campfires easier.
Last longer too
There are many wonderful thing that mixture can do... Really hard to put out once it's lit...
Napalm ...
"Wow, this video blew my mind! The simplicity of mixing gasoline with soap to create something practical is truly ingenious. It just proves that sometimes the most effective solutions are the simplest ones. Kudos to the creator for sharing this practical invention!"
The inventor of napalm was a secret military research lab in 1942, but even before that people were using thickening agents for fuel based incendiary weapons.
@@herbieschwartz9246 Yeah - they would fling burning tar.

Look in the garage by the gas can
i remember them old metal gas cans from my military days. Some of the ones we got from this one supplier ya had to bang & pry on them flip tops and mostly they broke off. We had this older supply Sgt Kurt Renwual and he would acquire the broken ones legally put in a slip for em and he would get these big expandable rubber stoppers from where his wife worked. The fact is I still have 2-3 of em in the garage. Them rubber stoppers are still just fine too. I think if internet had been around back then like is now one of us woulda ended on the rich mans list selling them rubber stoppers and broken gas cans
Look into temporary pipe Rubber expansion plugs at lowes or home depot .
Dude-don’t put your old sergeant’s name in a comment. Totally unnecessary and disrespectful.
Awesome. Thanks
When I was a young fella we had 1 gallon soup cans full of soap chips, with instruction printed on the side on how to mix it with Av gas to make napalm. Fun stuff when touched off by a claymore.
soap not soup

@@kf4293scrapyards shouldn't buy them. They should at least document who sells them.
Sounds like we grew up on different sides of town
If you have a hole in your fueltank, you can plug that hole with soap as the petrol/gas won't wash away or dry out out and crack.
Small holes obviously, not gaping wounds in the tank.
Need a little bit of snake to really have some fun
@@olddog103
what sort would you like ?
Taipans, Browns or Mulgas ?
I used to carry a bar of ivory soap when offroading just for emergency gas tank repair. That's what I thought the video was going to be about. Never thought of making a fire with it. Good to know, I suggest extreme caution.
Thx for this.
Super merci pour le truc pour les prochaines grillades 👍
That'd be one clean burning fuel. You could give it a little Irish Spring vibe or whatever's your fancy.
This would be great for brush piles
Wouldn't do any good for piles though 😁
I learned to mix laundry detergent with gasoline in the army to make napalm, they didn’t say anything about grinding up a bar of soap to make it.
That would eliminate the need to borrow the wife's cheese grater!
You're one crazy genius! 2 thumbs up 😁
For reinventing the wheel lmao
Ok no talking and all action ,I learned something new here.....
Like a really big match. Handy. Wonder how it would work in some rain.
You used to be able to buy them, they were called Fire Lighters(unbelievably).
Yes son you can still get them
I’m camping right now after learning this!
probably smells good too
That was the cleanest fire ever!
Relieved to see it was for starting a fire. I thought you were going to put it in a bike. Thanks for the tip. Works great! I'll pass on the pizza.
can you make this with old gas? past its usual use by date etc?
You can also use powdered laundry detergent or white foam
Yep napalm
I love the fresh smell in the mortning
As i read the title i imagined this to be environmentally great.
Diesel and sawdust work great too.
I keep a handfull of charcoal briquettes soaking in diesel fuel. Only takes one briquette to get the fire going.
really?....like a few in a jar or what?
@@User39. Correct, an old pickle or canning jar will hold a handfull of charcoal briquettes. Then just fill to cover the briquettes with diesel fuel or kerosene and screw the lid on. Maybe takes 30 min for the briquettes to become saturated fire starters, I grab them from the jar using an old pair of bbq tongs and place them in my fire pile. Usually only takes a single briquette to get a fire going in practically no time.
@@thisisyourcaptainspeaking2259 thanks
I pour melted wax wax from old candles onto wads of dryer lint that I place in egg carton depressions. They're fairly long lasting and work well starting the fire in my cabin's woodburner. Bit of dry kindling and a fire's up in short order. Works well outside too though wind can effect such a small flame.
You can also use ivory dish soap. Quick and eiser and sticks the burn better. We add it to weed kill does the job much better. Add the ivory last though.
I thought you were going to put it in your car and have bubbles come out the exhaust as you drove along.😅😅😅
Lmao 🤣🤣meee tooo😂
That worked like a champ gotta get a cheese grater
U can also use stirophon and gas, works wonders
Do you recommend regular or ethyl?😅
Bar soap is available in some ethnic markets. Most stores only carry liquid or powdered soap they don't work as well.
Damn these potatoes taste great !
Tyler Durden Approved!
Well worth it!!!
Thought this was gonna be an April fools video but instead it’s a nice tip for making some cheap fire starter
You can do something similar with gasoline and Styrofoam, just keep dissolving the foam until you get the desired thickness.
Backyard camp fire season will be with us shortly, hello neighbors.
Very cool!
I don't think I'd want to cook over coals from a fire started like that.
I love that smell in the morning.
👍👍👍👍👍🤜🤛 how did you find out about mixing soap with gasoline or is that something that you found out about yourself you created? I don’t know I would never think about mixing soap with gasoline for any reason.
Done in the military back in the Vietnam days by soldiers all the time. We had instructions all the time. Not truly napalm but works like it.
Great video
if more than needed is not used about how long will the mixture last ( days or weeks ) , also is this mixture ok for cooking shortly after the fire has burned ? I do not have a firm answer for the grandchildren .. they showed this and asked me to make haha
That's os old 50s era 60s for real
Soap powder and alcohol is what makes molotov cocktails and they also use small styrofoam packing to dissolve in gasoline to make napalm
Soap is ionic polar molecula. Would work way better with acetone rather than gasoline.
old cooking oil works just as good.
If you have a leaky gas tank you can rub soap on it to seal the tank for a bit depending on how big the leak is.
works seen it done
We always used styrofoam dissolved in gas.
Thanks JB
Thank you
I just read the title and thought I'd try it. I need a new engine for a
You are correct. Before viewing....I thought, there's no way I'd put that in my car! Lol
Hey, here comes the Rooster...Oh YEA!
Petroleum jelly works similar when he said the mixture I was honestly thinking maybe it'll be runny and slimmy the mix is a lot thicker than I though more of a paste I suppose it's the dilution ratio tho that's the kicker
Now add magnesium powder to it and it burns so hot it will burn through steel, you can use fine aluminum powder but it doesn't burn as hot but for the ultimate burn add white phosphorous. You ain't putting that out anytime soon.
Is it like white phosphorus?
Add styrofoam and soap even better results
Is this fireplace friendly? 🤔🤔
I used to dipped wood into molten wax candle.
Will
Irish Spring work ??
Is every gas can on earth engineered for maximum slop and spillage?
What was the amazing results? Excuse my ignorance. As , already had the flame from the lighter and the gas. Sorry if i missed something. No hate, just asking.
Great for cleaning your fuel injectors!!!!
Kapitalne dziekuje

I love the smell of gasoline & soap in the morning
Just dont wash your balls with it 🤣
Wuuuuuuuaaaaasoooooo muy interesante yo lo que hago es el corcho blanco o tergopol colócalo en gasolina hasta que se hace una pasta la cual me sirve para prender fuego
The cheese will never taste the same
Does it matter what the ratio of gas to soap is? Is there a way to know how long it burns? Does it give off a flavor to what you cook? Thanks.
I definitely wouldn’t be cooking anything above that flame 🤮
Get gasoline and put it in a very large pan then heat it up very slowly on a low heat and then grate 2 bars of soap in to the gasoline and dissolve it then add Styrofoam to the mixture and stair it all together and do not touch the mixture and basically that's napalm and it works great and I've made some before in the past and it was very good stuff I red how to make it years ago.
Used to use this in Nam but my cheese tasted real bad. Haven’t liked cheese since.
Try diesel or kerosene and household detergent. Will clean oily hands like nothing else.
Used Ivory soap flakes in Nam to make foo-gas.
Is it like DIESEL FUEL and FERTILIZER?
I take scrap wax from candles and melt it, i add wood shavings in egg cartons and use them in the wood stove.
Chuť benzínu, mýdla a grilovaného masa musi být úžasná. 😮
Liquid soap would be easier, less work but would it work ?

We use to put ivory snow powder.
You can use soap to repair a leaking gas tank. Same chemical reaction that stops the leaking.
