Not really the only Foot Crossing on the system, there is one between Palmersville and Northumberland Park, another between Shiremoor and West Monkseaton, one between Hebburn and Pelaw, and one between East Boldon and Seaburn.
Lovely little video - I had no clue there was a foot crossing on the Metro network, it had never occurred to me to check! As an aside, where did you get that scarf? It's amazing. :)
It's not the only foot crossing, but it is the only bridleway crossing, so people on horseback may cross. The crossing between Palmersville and Northumberland Park has been replaced with a subway as there will be more trains on this stretch when passenger services to Ashington start later this year (probably!).
Great video thank you mate! You timed it right with the snowfall to great effect! Looking forward to more. I use this line on an almost daily basis for work in Callerton Parkway! I wonder to myself why does the journey from Bank Foot to Callerton Parkway feel like it takes a lifetime when it's such a short distance? Well it does to me at 6am! :)

I was going to the same. There's definitely more that 1 but they're not common
Its amazing place I remember walking there before the metro line was put in❤

There is, or used to be, another one - also a bridle pathway - on South Drive in Hebburn.
Ha, you're right as well. Glad I hedged my bets on the title - I'll have to check that one out too
@@edificity There's also one between East Boldon and Seaburn on the Durham Coast Line and between Palmersville and the A19 i believe
and maybe between shiremoor and west monkseaton
@@EddieHart True, didn't even think of that one (south of East Boldon) and I live close to it nowadays!
I love your scarf lol
Went here recently, would definitely go again, good location for having the trains trundle along to and from airport
The new Sunderland station has just opened today! Nice video edificity
I'll try and make a video visiting it asap!
It looks so peaceful

There is another between Shiremore and West Monkseaton.
theres a foot crossing pelaw and hebburn...or hebburn and jarrow theres an allotment on the the north side of the tracks.
I went on the Tyne and Wear Metro yesterday
There is also a pedestrian only crossing with no lights or barriers just off from Hebburn football club it rarely gets used and is fairly hidden
South drive crossing, actually the busiest foot crossing in the network
"Only every 12 minutes"
Ouch, that hurt. 😢
The road is the A696 😊
Nothing to see here. I can *totally* read maps...
(thank you for pointing out my mistake, I don't think I would have caught this!)
this crossing causes issues cause they are not able to put a cant in over the crossing so it causes the trains to shake as they approach it
