    Great information man keep the videos coming! What do you focus on when you sprint at max velocity? Driving the arms? Striking the ground with your feet? I've gotten a lot of mixed and conflicting opinions when researching the topic.

      +Cody Bidlow It depends! Hate that answer but it really does depend..! Thanks for the videos Cody. Is there a way to actually facilitate horizontal force? I feel as if shin angles, foot placement are the only determinants.. Can you explain more on how you intend to create larger h. forces??

    you have a beautiful style of running. my favourite style is the one from Carl Lewis. im at 12 seconds flat on the 100 meters. im almost 39, and had back surgery 6 years ago. im going to apply your advise.

    • @ChrischrosBelgium
      @ChrischrosBelgium 8 лет назад

      +Cody Bidlow No, I 'don't know the guy. I'll look him up.
      About the twelve seconds, I've always been very fast, even without training. I ran 11,26 when I was 14 but had to stop training due to back and knee problems (accident whn I was 5, and never treated by a doctor untill I was 31. I started training again and after a year I was back at 13,35 seconds; 6months later, due to specific training of technique and explosive training, I got it down to 12,6. Then I started loosing fat, and lost 12 pounds of fat. Then I was at 12 seconds flat; That was a year ago. I'm going to pick up where I left with my training and will keep on trying untill I beat my perssonal best of 11,26. My role model is Kim Collins that ran faster at 38 then when he won the gold when he was 22 or so. Crazy. I don' t know what the best time in the world is for someone as old as me. KIM Collins is a freak of nature. What's weird is that I've always noticed that when I was running, and got to top speed, I barely touched the ground and ran without a lot of efffort, like my legs were just wheels; when I said that to my gym teacher, who new nothing about sprinting except for the fact that "that was the way that it was learned by the experts; So I ran with good technique without learning it. I guess I wathced Carl Lewis so much that I just copied his style without realizing it. Last weekend I beat the fastest jung runners of the local soccer club. It's a bitter sweet feeling because I always wonder how I would have matched up if i WOuld't have had thoe back and knee problems due to the accident. I think that 10 seconds would have been possible.

    Newbie sprinter here. Can anyone explain why after an intense sprint session, my dreams are riddled with me running away from something, except i want to move fast but can't, it's though I'm stuck in jelly, or my muscles are not firing properly. It feels really weird. Does anyone else have that?

  • @TheosThoughts
    @TheosThoughts 7 лет назад

    Would you recommend plyometrics and lifting work the day prior or the day following a speed session if you cant rest both the day before and after ?

    • @ATHLETE.X
      @ATHLETE.X  7 лет назад +3

      Sorry for the delay. Its probably safer to sprint first before anything else, but I've know people who have success with lifting one day, jumping another, and sprinting the third day. Gotta pay attention to how the body distributes tone throughout the body and see if the jumps and lifts make you too tight to sprint at full blast.

    No BS I'm looking for help. In 9th grade I ran 11.81 in the 100m, over the summer I did some plyometrics and increased my vertical by 8 inches. Then I did cross country (which trains the wrong type of muscles) and my vertical went down 4 inches and I wasn't running as fast. Then sophomore year I ran 11.52 and 11.3 something. Probably because my muscles matured or sometimg, I didn't train. This off season I didn't do cross country and I started to sprint train, work on blocks etc. Which I've never done before! I got all my times from only easy plyos and talent. I'm going into 11th grade and want to know what time I should expect now that I've incorporated sprint training (hills, parachute, blocks) and cut out cross country.
