But max velocity obviously means a persons max speed right, so why would you not want to be running at your maximum speed as early in the race as you can?.?
Good question, but you also need to know about deceleration. If I'm running maxV at 10m, my body, naturally will begin to decelerate around 40-50m. You still have have 50m left to run. That's when you see the athletes that get caught at the end if the race. They were patient In Their acceleration. Make sense?
KX5Kat you just have to make sure that you are holding it as long as your body can. The distance usually is based on strength and above all patience. Keep working on it and it will get better.
No. If you are lean over to far to where you feel like you will fall over, you will. The key is to have an angle that allows you to accelerate....about 45 degrees. Also if you do feel like your falling over its because your feet are not getting under you hips, and you possibly not popping those knees forward.
@@coachwelly You know what running with low hip means, correct? I see you (assuming that is you demonstrating) and I see some of the speedy professionals in sprinting and in American football, you run relatively low meaning a lower center of mass, meaning lower hip than the rest I mentioned. Meaning when you contact the ground you could do it with a bit more open Knee flex angle. Look at Jeter, bolt,Deon Sanders and many more.
When you project out of the blocks your foot should should ascend through the opposite shin. If it goes higher you take away from you best possible acceleration force. Make sense?
I have a question. I have an athelete who is currenty kicking her feet forward when she is coming out of the blocks. Her feet go way passed the knee. What is the best way to get her to get the ideal starting position?
Maybe put tape or an orange cone where her feet are currently hitting and measure back to a point that would put her feet inside the knee and have her step to the shorter mark.
There's a lot, but first, God given talent and a desire to do absolutely everything that they are being coached to do. There are a few of the young athletes that will come close (9.6 high, 9.7), but I don't think it will ever be broken.
Sir if I am 18 years old and wanted to become best sprinter. Was i am late ,should I had to do practice from earlier or now if I start it can be possible.
I'm a 13 year old girl who's looking to become a proffessional athlete, the thing is with my start against others is that I carry my feet low, but I'm not pushing hard enough it's like I don't have enough strength although the technique is correct. So, in competitions, the other girl's run out instead of push out, they still get out ahead but I catch them up in the end. I don't want to be the one doing the catching, so do you have any suggestions sir? This would be appreciated if you could help...thanks!
You have to get used to pushing out of those blocks. I have a new video I just uploaded called 4 tips to better acceleration. Take s look at it. Maybe that will help you.
Semantics bub. The term is used in track and field to describe what an athlete does at the start of their race. We teach sprinters how to accelerate correctly. Words have different meanings depending on the context. It is the nature of language. If I told you I had to run somewhere, but I got in my car and drove there, would you say I was using the word run incorrectly? Anyway, that's all for now. I gotta run :)
Thanks. The chin tip turned my 6.60 40 dash into a 5.35!
VynToniX great job sir.
Great, thank you from a mom training her 15 year old.
Glad it helped out mom.

0:59 acceleration yes
Its very important
How long should you be in acceleration in a 60m run? My son plays baseball, they test speed in a 60 yard dash.
Depends on the kid.
Fr sounds like the pacer music
I am a pacer, figuratively.
In the acceleration phase, Shouldn’t you try to be as leaned forward as possible until you feel you may fall over?

Micheal Wellington Ok it just that when I do 10 yard split times, I run my fastest when I feel like I’m almost about to fall but alright
@@Nelybandz what happens after 10 yards?
Wicket distances, Micheal is it one space 2.5 or two spaces at 2.5 ie 2.5, 3,3.5, 4 or 2.5, 2.5, 3, 3, 3.5, 3.5 and so on? Thank you.
If I understand you, it is 1 space and the distance increase as you place the wickets down.
Helpful

the coach runs with a relative low hip after the acceleration phase.

Tape, Banana hurdles, Do a lot of the wall command drill to get her to feel where her feet should be when accelerating.
I love this vídeo, the steps

I need help with running as in term of my form and building speed. I am a 400m,4x4,200m and 2x2 runner. Any suggestions for workouts or drills.
If you watch the series on videos on Dev Speed, it should help you a bit.
How???
By listening to what is being said. You would have to be trained by me or someone else otherwise to get what it is you really need.
How do i get to dev speed?
Please tell me that being a 100m and 200m sprinter, should I run long distance (5k-10k) daily for endurance.
ultiMAte HAckER not at all. You should not be running distance. They are two different energy systems.

Please can you give me a workout plan on track and in gym
What does dorsi flexed mean
Its keeping your toe pointed toward your body, so that you on the balls for your feet.
Sir during Sprint first we should start from toe and then by whole foot is it correct?
In blocks or from a standing 2 point start?
Sir in block
In your opinion what should be special in athlete to break that unbreakable record?
There's a lot, but first, God given talent and a desire to do absolutely everything that they are being coached to do. There are a few of the young athletes that will come close (9.6 high, 9.7), but I don't think it will ever be broken.

Your speed endurance could be lacking.
