  • I travelled to the Yaohan Centre Food Court in Richmond, Vancouver to try regional Chinese foods for the first time. Watch me react to Green Pepper Pork Chop Rice Cooked in a Clay Pot. This is one the best dishes from Chinese cuisine I have had in Canada. This food court stall serves mostly Sichuan cuisine. Go give it a try!

Vancouverite here! Props to you for checkin out Yaohan. I'm not sure what the green things are but the dark liquid is a sweet soy sauce. The best way to use it is to pour it all over when you first get the claypot so the soy sauce caramelizes from the heat underneath the rice and makes the rice so much more flavorful! I would recommend checking out the Aberdeen centre food court if you haven't next. It's definitely got more options.

Thanks! Great tip on caramelizing the soy sauce! Any favorite spots in Aberdeen?

Once you dive into the regional stuff it’s endless! Chinese cuisine is no different than Italy or France for variety of dishes across regions! I find it so interesting!
