I'm always tricked into thinking this is a new episode then I notice Robert's hair and realize it is not 😂
And marks hair is still all black lol
I can tell by the hallway 😂
Well just look at Babara... She looks older with more wrinkles in older episodes before her face enhancements.😆True though..
All had hair
You can just tell by the video quality alone
This seemed like a serious pitch but maybe they needed razzle and dazzle. But i could definitely see cheer or dance teams wanting this type of thing.
The moment he heard that his valuation was way too much he should have said - I’m open to offers. Also, he should have completed med school.
Agreed. At least the med school and a year of residency to fall back on or get a partner after to do is concurrently. Against popular belief, med schools are super upset if someone needs a year leave for medical issues or a traumatic life event. I had to drop out for some time to help my fiance who got crippled fighting off her niece's abusive boyfriend that stormed into our house. I wasn't there at the time, but the school didn't care. No other school cared either. They even have a screening too to ask if you ever attended a medical school. Generally, they will just put a "no" without even reading why. It just is the flood of applications.
My thoughts exactly. The money he could have been making after med school is a heck of a lot safer option for an income compared to throwing that potential money away and risking it all with this product. Always good to have something to fall back on. Also, the money he’d be making after med school could have been used to invest more in his company
The issue here is that the sharks aren't allowed to offer less money then what the entrepreneur is asking for, they can an only ask for more equity and since the sales of the company are so low, it's obvious that the sharks aren't gonna pay that much money for a business that is just starting, even if they get more equity out of it.
That's why in a lot of episodes when you here the sharks say "I wish you came in here asking for less money" it's because they would like to invest but not for such a high amount.
you cant do that in shark tank. the amount you ask for cant be lowered by the sharks, they can only go up on money or change the equity percentage, so he boned himself from the start is what they were trying to say
@@keifchief how about - “I’m here to make a deal” which I’ve heard many times. Then a shark can say $500K for 60%, thus opening negotiations.
Shark tank is my jam, yes bring on the content.
* _Shark Tank_
*jam. Yes, bring
I've seen this type of thing quite a bit in gyms honestly. Hopefully what I saw came from this guy and he's doing well
Dropped out of medical school for THIS? Very gimmicky idea that isn't "revolutionary" at all, certainly not worth $2.5m.
Not everyone can put up with the pressure of medical school.
Do you work out? You may just not be the target market. I think it's cool.
His company is worth $6m now.
This would be really great for wet t-shirt contests in Panama City
Never trust a guy who's left eye looks somewhere while the other jumps off the eye socket.
His company now has annual revenue of $6.9M, blowing his ex-med school friends out of the water. Wealth, not income, makes someone rich. See Forbes rich list ranking.
Revenue does not equal profits. Just putting that out there for the slow ones in the back of the room.
@@keyquestions It's more important eg. Amazon.
@@izakmizrahi8569 Yes because the world's largest retailer is completely analagous to a T-shirt company.
Why not just wear a logo? Why do you need on to magically appear when you sweat?
This is what happens when a spoiled rich kids flunks out of med school and thinks he is still smart.
Raymond says I give you money and still have to work for it. No you give him the money and don't help. Is he serious.
Sharks are there to invest, not to build a whole business from basically nothing.
daymond you smallsmalls
I agree!- Daymond is quite arrogant on these newer-ish episodes. 😒
@@MAGAprincessthese are old episodes, not new
Back to uni buddy
The worst part is that he took someone else's spot in medical school and then dropped out.
thats a really dumb way to put chasing a dream. If he earned a "spot" then chose to persue something else thats his prerogative
That isn't how universities work. He didn't "take" anyone's spot.
Straight up scam lol
Guys... can u imagine if he handed out custom shirts to all the sharks with the tech, and Barbara's read "im out"
Funny that he uses polyester which does not easily absorb water to show off a product that requires being wet rather than 100% cotton
This technologie is very old. it is called "secret print". you just print hydrophobic chemicals on the fabric. it stays dry, because it is hydrophobic
Oh yeah, true. The text is always there. The water just makes the surrounding area darker, creating contrast needed to see the text.
I have an old pair of board shorts that had this tech in it and it worked way better than what's seen here. Too bad the pattern wore off after 10 years of use.😆
This seems like the dumbest idea to me, but his company is still going.
Was coming to say the same thing.
This is why I like it. You don't have to have nothing on the shirt when it's dry, you could have Mavericks on the shirt, then "Go" or a logo that comes through when you sweat, so there's no drawback, it's just an add-on to an existing shirt. That type of thing is very easy to sell. Of course, I'm not sure that the price point is.
@@EGarrett01 you make some good points and I’m sure a lot of people will like it. It’s just not for me that’s all.
@@EGarrett01 I don’t know. A shirt costs some amount and how much more would someone pay for this gimmick? I don’t see it, though obviously someone thinks it’s cool seeing how, while it isn’t exactly a raging success, he has kept it going pretty well, so what do I know? The valuation here does seem preposterous for what it is.
@@knutthompson7879 I don't know how much more it will cost. If it's only a few bucks more I think it would sell a lot. But if it's like 40 bucks per shirt instead of 15, it probably won't.
I don't need a t shirt to tell me I'm sweating.
Net Worth 2023: $5.3 million with a whopping $6.9 million in annual revenue.
So Barbara actually wanted to try the shirt technology herself, so she made one and sprayed water on it and it worked! It said "I'm out"
hahahahahahaha
I dont' understand why everyone is hating on Barbara - Damon is "out" even more than her 🤷🏻♀
@@YokoFuongAnh Its more the reasons she goes out than the frequency. She went out on a girl because her dad helps pay her rent. She also told two entrepreneurs that they were terrible salesman when they had made millions in sales in one year.
Lmfao, I'll say it again, these Barbara jokes will never get old 🤣
This is a really niche idea and he came in asking 500K.
Yep and now it's worth $5.3 million with $6.9 million in revenue. Not so niche
Sometimes sharks get insulted if they have to "work" for their investment but sometimes they throw it in the offer
I remember when these shirts were really popular for a while.. back like 30 years ago lol. He didn't invent this at all.
Yeah and I had one in the way backs
Yeah, but he could patent it and license it and get rich.
Sweat activated prints is very trendy now. Jumping on early and locking down the concept would have resulted in a pretty huge ROI these days
Although it would have been a huge high risk/high return of a gamble that would have been a big hail mary
I'm wondering how they pulled it off .. I have personally owned dozens of board shorts for surfing and wakeboarding that showed logos when they got wet .. really intrigued.
@@Cameron-jh5bk same. I have gym shirts that do the same, but less if you pour water on it versus sweat-induced. I have decided it’s magic 🤣
Barbara: I can't read, and I don't sweat during my workout and for that reason, I'm out.
Seems like you'd have to sweat buckets on the outside alone trying to get it wet from the inside. Guess it's better for water parks that allow shirts if most even do.
What water park forces you to take off your shirt ? Lol
@@timhaut😂 right? I’m guessing it’s the other way around
I don't often agree with Barbara's reason for going out... But this time I believe she hit the nail on the head. I think the technology is great but it needs more fine tuning and what kevin said regarding arrogance is a very valid point too.
I think it's pretty cool the first time you see it, and that's it....
I actually liked the product but don’t know if I would have shelved a promised medical career for it😂
Well his company is worth 5.3 million. So, i guess it was worth all the hassle?
terrible product lol
It really isn't tho
@@Asimm.07would you buy it?
@@ryanrabizadeh5140 tbh I would because it motivates u to workout more so u can sweat and see the writing
I'm already 1 minute in the video and I hate the product. Its "meh." Its basic. Wouldn't waste my money.
he could have finished school and do it on the side but dude quit school to make a shirt that makes a logo when the shirt gets wet😂🤣
i think this idea could actually be a hit.. but rather saying im strong or other stuff that could be weird when another person reads it maybe say.
"Never Give Up" or anything similar that another person would enjoy reading then it could be shirt that people feel teaming up in a gym ... so it becomes a group thing.
This is actually a great idea.
Fun fact for everyone, this business is worth over 5 million net worth right now.
Shark tank with a typo in the title??? (Hire me for editing :) )
Lol technolgy 😅. That actually is not that noticeable because most people don't read the title that thoroughly. it's really bad though 😂.
I’m surprised more high school sports teams don’t look into this
This was done long before this guy...
Barb's right, the product is terrible.
Perspiration activated ink has been around for years. Disney has used them on run disney shirts since 2015. This guy is not creating anything novel that hasn't been done before.
Just dont see the need for it. Maybe a 1 time buy for a pool party bbq.
I would have never invested in this at all
I think sweat is disgusting. The last thing I want to see is someones sweat print announcing their bodily juices are seeping through their clothes.
I have owned board shorts surf trunks from surf and wakeboard companies ..dozens of pairs that showed a logo when they got wet .. that was 20 years ago... this is a sham
Go back to Med School!
Maybe it inspires you a few times but after a while it’s just a shirt. Honestly I think it would annoy me if I wasn’t in the mood for it while working out.
You can tell how old this is due to the fact how strong opinionated it is, now a days this would cause offence lol.
Perfect example of a typical modern day doctor (or med student)…. No logic
That's pathetic man, you don't know anything about the guy or why he had to drop out
This guy keeps saying revolutionary tech like its going to change peoples lives 😂
This guy has no social skills. It makes sense that he was going to medical school.
Reminds me of the hypercolor trend 30 years ago. Hypercolor was heat-activated, and the colors popped - unless you washed them in hot water, ironed, or tumble-dried them, making the color change permanent. This one is just a lame imitation of an old, unfashionable product.
Y’all can talk about Barbara all y’all want. But she a real one on this pitch.
Really out maybe
"So I'm working for my money once I get it to you"...Daymond. Since when has a shark NEVER been expected to provide their pool of resources and contacts to help promote a business?
This dude just wanted the commercial he didn't want a deal.
Barbara was great "your product sucks, I'm out"
You should have stayed in med school. You probably lied about that anyway while you walked in the acting all privileged.
what a useless technolgy.
Sometimes these sharks are too old and stuck in their ways to know products. But then hey they have the money and can afford to write off on some pitches. I just do see the potential with school teams, cheer teams, even fans for big teams. Water parks. Water sports.
4:43
LOL
The product seems useless too me
Have a great lunch guys
ive seen way worse products and valuations than this for the reaction he got.
Remember the toy cars, that when you wet them, they changed colors, the technology has been there forever😅
Just use a 99cents bottle of superglue and write with it keeping two sides apart and wola .. you can achieve the same result.
Patterns cut in to paper and use gorilla glue spray can .. Even better ,
Technology, Chemicals.. blah.. blah ..😂😂
The issue is that he's not solving a problem for people or helps anyone with anything with the product .
You guys are crazy this was huge for the sharks .. license to Nike alone is enough
sharks don't sweat
I remember i think px90 had a shirt like this or one if those video set workout people
Barbara rocking the "Barb boy" 8yo hairstyle ! Nice
Barbara: Robert interrupted me, so...I'm out.
How did he invent this? Ive seen shirts like this for years and years?
This is great actually. The ask is just too much though
Barbara “I don’t breathe , so I don’t see a need for oxygen .”
A college dropout no matter how you spin it.
Doesn’t Louis Vuitton have a swim suit that does this?
This guy cried in the rental car. Guaranteed.
They shoulda asked for rights to the patent if granted.
If he had colors they would jump on it
The Sharks are waaaay considerate these days
Technolgy? no. Technology. yes!
The product is not terrible
Pretty lame idea actually
Dude need to start looking for a new chemist job 😂😂
He had a 6.9 million contract to do shirts for the army, also his yearly revenue is 4 million lol he is doing good and better than you
shoulda asked 100 k
It is a bad idea
Wow pity guy
Nice

This tech isnt new
Horrible idea.
My first impression it was a gimmick. 😑
Entrepreneur quits med school to market T-Shirts !! Did he find out early that ... a dislike dealing with sick patients ?!?
They were out before he walked in. They look exhausted and frustrated
