Im half Korean. My mom makes this with different ingredients but when she uses shrimp, she cuts the shrimp into 3rds and mixes it with the batter so they don't separate after they're done like they did here but it looks amazing. Thank you for the video

I feel like traditional Korean pancakes have a lot more scallions/garlic chives in them than these do. Like there is too much batter in these. I bet they're still tho

The slight char is key! Gives that ever so slight crunch. I visit my parents about once a week and she would make these occasionally which results in me devouring them (literally as she makes them and puts them on the plate) which leads to my mom yelling "Yah!..Don't eat it all!" I love these so much that I wish I could just sit on a stool next to my mom as she makes them and have her just shove them in my mouth as they are done. Thanks for taking the time for your videos, especially the ones with Korean comfort food.

Oh you're so welcome. Thank you for watching and sharing your story! I love to hear about families and their traditions/comfort foods. Just like when my mum would make Thai fishcakes or banana fritters. I always would hover around the kitchen eating them as soon as they were cool enough! LOL

I was so inspired, I MADE THIS! Wish I could add the pics! I added about a half bag of defrosted frozen veggies with the scallions and everyone thought that added texture and flavor. I doubled it and made 5 good sized pancakes. SO DELISH, and don't be afraid to mess with the sauce. I used what I had on hand and it was such a fun meal we all made together. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! 💜

When I grew up in South Africa we also called Spring Onions "Shallots". That has however disappeared since people there have discovered the real shallots. Swiss Chard was also called Spinach. However that too has changed as authentic Spinach has become available there too

Quick bit of feedback: in most of your videos, there seems to be a loud rushing sound in the background when you're speaking - I imagine it's an electric chimney's fans. The tip about seasoning each and every ingredient is one of the most critical cooking tips that can exist. I like to imagine every ingredient "accidently falling out the side of the sandwich" and so each ingredient must taste optimal by itself. When all combined.... maximum optimal.

I tried this dish when i was in Korea last year, at first I didn't know what dish i would get because there was only Korean menu in the restaurant and the owner couldn't speak English, so it was totally blinded order, i just pointed to the menu having no clue what kind of dish it was. Then I got this. How lucky I was!!! It was delicious that I kept smiling the whole time out of satisfying while eating it. Now i will definitely make this for dinner.
