Awesome recipe! I definitely need to cook these next weekend...also no need to pop them in the oven, I would just eat them as soon as I start cooking the next! Love spring onions and love crispy pancakes, thank you Marion!
Reminds me of my childhood. My grandmother would make this with me. I would roll the pancakes and she would stuff them and fry them up. Ahhh the memories...
I had never tried green onion pancakes, and anticipated trying your recipe. I had a lot of difficulty making these. Today I watched a few green onion pancake videos from other chefs. Your recipe specifies 8 pieces of dough, unless I'm mistaken. Other chefs make a similar quantity of dough for 2 pancakes. That would be much easier. All your other recipes I've tried have been wonderful.
Your Coconut Sriracha is the BEST dipping sauce I never knew I needed. I will never buy regular Sriracha again. I use it on eggs, McDonald's French fries, pizza, pretty much anything ❤️
I like how you keep the music in the background very low. So many RUclipsrs keep their music SO LOUD! Very professional and pleasant your videos are! Thanks!
This is a great recipe. I could have my little nieces with me in the kitchen and they'd love rolling out the dough and making the shapes.... then, of course, finishing them off. Thank you Marion.
There was a guy whose family owned a Chinese restaurant and he made a video on these a few years back where he did the rolling steps several times and they looked super flaky. I love these scallion pancakes!
You've made my day! I've been hoping you would make these and some springs rolls! Would love to see your take on vegetarian spring rolls and plain pork 😊 Your videos bring so much joy and inspiration to me and my cooking
I'm obsessed with scallion pancakes, I always have a couple in the freezer ready to go. I've been making them for quite some time but not with the double fold - I go straight with the oil and scallions step and clearly I've been missing out on the extra flakiness. Won't happen again ;
@@RoyShay not the original commenter but for me I brush it super lightly with oil and freeze. Works super well, just make sure you use parchment to separate the frozen pancakes or else they will stick.
I had this one in Singapore and i wanted to make it at home but i dont know how (i dont even know the name! Lol). Thanks, Marion! I cant wait to make this for my housemates :D
Was watching an old Masterchef AU episode yesterday (seasons 1-8 are on Prime TV here in the UK) and someone made these. Great to see a recipe so I can try 'em myself now!
Hi Marion! Can I make these and freeze them? How shld I go abt doing it? Do I cook it halfway then let it cool down and freeze or shld I just freeze them uncooked after adding all the spring onions? Thank you!
I asked my server at a Chinese restaurant yesterday why I was so obsessed with scallion pancakes. He laughed and described why HE was crazy about them, too. It’s true - there’s some kind of magic in them.
I wish I had a firm answer for you Jacqui! I'm trying to get them to you in NZ. Just need one of your supermarket chains to choose to stock them. Fingers crossed! And thank you for your interest!!!
Glad I discovered this beautiful channel. My 11 year old daughter just started her cooking channel called Emma’s Little Kitchen Official. She aims at teaching Chinese whilst cooking. Hope she can learn something from you. Thank you so much.
Love your recipe ideas.... but none of the stores listed on your website have your products for sale in my area. (Whole Foods, Raleys, Safeway, Sprouts).
Thanks for your interest Brett! :-) You can find a selection of my sauces, marinades and meal kits nationally in the USA in stores like Walmart, Sprouts, Harris Teeter, Hy-Vee and Amazon. My store locator will help you find what's available in your area 😊www.marionskitchen.com/where-to-buy
Marion, instead of green onion I’m going to try pizza toppings ingredients (bacon, pepperoni, olives, cheese, sans tomato sauce - she dislikes TS) that my child might like. I hope it’ll hold together well while frying. Wish me luck!
Ma'am that looks absolutely AMAZING thanks for making me hungry at the right time ^_^ time to try and recreate what you have made have a good day ma'am!
In my experience in the US, only the best Chinese restaurants pan fry them. They are often deep fried and greasy. Best bet is homemade. Second is frozen which are often good. I'd hate the idea of someone's first experience not being delicious.
I like your other recipes but this one seems off, I’ve been taught to roll that first layer really thinly so the diameter is more like 12-14 inches at least, then brush the oil and sprinkle the scallions. Also, one tip is to scrunch the pancake with tongs as it cooks so it sort of fluffs the pancake up with air pockets to make it even crispier. The homemade ones we make are thicker/flakier and not as flat. Amazingly a good recipe I use is from the Mazzy Show on RUclips.
The ones I have seen are scrunched with your hands like a clap together right after its cooked, no doubt you would need tough hands though given it will still have hot oil on it.
I find dough doesn't freeze very well for me, usually turning black so I tend to avoid it. The way that dough comes together and becomes stretchy is that the gluten in the dough binds together creating stretchy links, the way freezing effects food is that it forces the moisture in the food to expand and solidify and then when warmed will suck back in some of the moisture and shrink but I think in that process probably damages and breaks the gluten strands. (Theory as a person with very little scientific knowledge on the subject so please someone correct me if I am wrong)
Love how simple her recipes are, so easy to follow. Thanks Marion

Second time I have tried these. They are great and est to make thanks to your step by step instructions Marion.
I've been patiently waiting for your sauces to be available at my local coles and was so excited when I found them today!

I sooo wish I could be sitting in your kitchen whilst you were making these!!!
I was introduced to store bought scallion pancakes a few years ago. Thanks to your video I can now make them at home. 🙂

Question: Do you freeze before frying? Or after?
@@RoyShay not the original commenter but for me I brush it super lightly with oil and freeze. Works super well, just make sure you use parchment to separate the frozen pancakes or else they will stick.
Looks super yummy, Marion. Great job! My question is, can we premake the dough and freeze it and then fry it whenever we want to?
Great question as I wonder the same shame no reply
Love, love your videos, you make it so easy to make delicious and creative dishes. Thank you ❤️❤️
I'm sorry, Marion. I got distracted by that gorgeous lip shade you're wearing! What is it? 😅
I love how your dishes are so simple.
Oh Marion! This is one of my absolute Favourite!

Your recipes look easy and taste. God Bless!
New pancake recipe 🤤🤤 i love it! The way you making the pancake is so satisfying to watch 💗💗
Looks soooo delicious. Reminds me of Indian naan! 😋🥰
Looks delicious. Can I freeze them after final rolling? Without cooking then of course 😊
Literally just made this and so enjoyed it. My new go to recipe. I tried following your and foodwishes recipe for best results.
I just came from FoodWishes recipe :D I like his rolling method better.
The Indian Lachcha Paratha is similar to this.
Amazing recipre Marion!
That looks a lot like the Sri Lankan Roti! Sometimes we add coconut, onions and Chilli to the flour mixture!
Springonion paratha....luks yummmmm🤤🤤
Great video Marion! Love all your receipts!
We called them Green Onions, at least in Texas :)
green onions in Hawaii and Arizona
Hii Marion love your channel. I want to know what kind of oil do you use?
I love you ! Thank you for being a blessing to us 🥰
So beautiful color and it's look yummy!
yum indeed. Thanks Marion!
Those scallion pancakes look so yummy! I wish I was eating those right now lol
Oh Yum!!
What i like so much about ur recipe is about all the spices. I really love spicy
Love your videos and this looks fun to make and delicious 😍
Hi Marion! Can I make these and freeze them? How shld I go abt doing it? Do I cook it halfway then let it cool down and freeze or shld I just freeze them uncooked after adding all the spring onions? Thank you!
It looks so good. I'm going to have to experiment a bit with gluten free flours and see what works best.
I asked my server at a Chinese restaurant yesterday why I was so obsessed with scallion pancakes. He laughed and described why HE was crazy about them, too. It’s true - there’s some kind of magic in them.
These would make an awesome appetizer!!
We call it onion prantha in india
I love scallion pancakes. Can they be made with almond flour?
Diamond41565 Mullen , probably they could be if you mix in with some wheat flour, but it’ll taste different.
Love this recipe 😜💖
Marion, do you have an ETA on the sauces for New Zealand please? They all look so good, I can hardly wait to try them haha
I wish I had a firm answer for you Jacqui! I'm trying to get them to you in NZ. Just need one of your supermarket chains to choose to stock them. Fingers crossed! And thank you for your interest!!!
Same!!! Let’s hope one of them chooses to stock them 😭😊🤞🏾
Can’t wait to try them
Hey Marion, how long (in minutes) should I knead the dough? Mine doesn’t seem to pop back up like yours haha

I'm making these lovelies , would a 3rd role up before curling cylinig into a round be of any benefit.
Hi Marion, Can you make some gluten free recipes? I love all your recipes.
These look delicious! Where can I purchase that Coconut Sriracha here in the USA?
I saw them at my local Sprouts here in California.

You rock Marion
Greetings from India 🖤.
Your coconut siracha is life. I honestly don’t think it’s that hot. It’s the perfect amount of hot.
amazing!
Do you turn on the oven when storing to keep warm?
Marion, Will your sauces and other products be available in the Philippines? I wish i have known about you when ai visited Thailand last December. 😔
I'm making it tonight with garlic chives.
Can I batch cook these and freeze them?
I'd be putting that coconut sriracha in that soy mixture with a bit of sugar.
Coconut Sriracha in anything is good! LOL 😂😆
Can i use rice flour in stead of wheat flour for this recipe?
Marion should run a raffle. You can win accommodation & meals cooked by Marion for a week :)
Where can I get ur sauce in Singapore Marion ?
So sorry :-( This one is currently only in Australia and the USA. I hope I can bring it to Singapore one day soon!
@@Marionskitchen 😭. Hopefully . Would love to get my hands on your sauce . ☺
Do a video on easy vegan recipes!
Your the best
They would be great with curry.
I hope you're still reading comments years later:
My question is- Can I add grated fresh ginger to the dipping sauce?
I love hot sauce 😋
Mmm
These look so so yummy but I can’t seem to find the amount of each ingredient that I need to use 🤔xx
In the description there is a link to the recipe - has all of the amounts there
hello I would like to have your book where I buy it
Thanks
What oil did you use?
Im in NZ can i buy your siracha sauce somewhere? ?

I read the title Stallion pancakes - i was intrigued...
How much of these ingredients do I use
I did't know it was this much work lol
Similar approach to Indian paratha! All so interesting and overlapped
Yes, I was thinking that though in that case its a FAR thinner stretchier dough and would likely have Many, many more layers.
How do you make the scallion cakes extra crispy after freezing? Mine are sticking to the pan. Some fluff up, some get real black and soggy.

Would be nice to have exact quantities
If you cook it on slow and low heat they’ll poof up and be even better like naan
