i can see that there are a few people here how wounder if this is cliffs last show well i can tell you guys that this is hes last show...i was there and watching the GREAT LAST SHOW.....a little part of me died the following day when i heard the bad news :-( i even saw the first one whit jason newsted in gothenburg 1987 it was a great show. you can listen to it here on youtube its a FUCKING great sound....metallica gothenburg 1987....happy listening metallica friends
@vio2112 In another song, James notes that they're playing in Stockholm. Cliff's last show was in Stockholm. The bass solo, besides James introducing the player as Cliff, is very similar to a bootleg I have from a few days earlier. Also, Cliff's backing vocals are quite different from Jason's. So is the bass sound throughout.
this lp was the first lp i ever bauth,i was really in to ccr and my uncel had all of there albums ecsept fore one called "bootleg". i wanted to hear all their records,so i killed my savingpigg an went to a recordstore i told the woman in the store i wanted bootleg, she comes back with 5 or 6 bootlegg records. the cover with those big "blowup" bottels of vodka i thoght it was a comedy akt,and since they dint have ccr i baught this one thats how i got in to metal..back in 89 or 90 i belive..
I guess you're right, it probably can't be known whether this is actually Cliff's last show but if you listen to the bass solo, it is clearly a Cliff solo and James also says "I'd like you all just to say hi to Mr Cliff Burton" at the start.
I can't remember, it was a few years ago, it might've been a forum but to be honest I don't have a clue. You get torrents of it (and can probably get it from limewire and other P2P clients), it's not copyrighted, well it shouldn't be, since it's a bootleg. If you search about for it you should be able to find a download.
yeah deff if u watch hes solos, he adds in kinda blues/jazz basslines and generally the use chords and arpeggios etc, and i'd be dammed if something like st anger was written with cliff still around xD
Wow OMFG SIGNED MY CLIFF HIMSELF!!! Well as far as getting Dave to sign it, he might see it differently then any of us. If it was mine I would keep it Safe and Cosider myself Very Very lucky... Take a Picture and Show him and see what he says first, then take it from there. For sure though I would keep it Safe...
Im not calling you out because i think this could be ruled out somehow, but I think this is with Jason. After Cliff died, they played at the speed of crack. When he was around they did normal tempo.
@MrHelem did he blow out his voice between black album and load? cuz thats when things sorta changed from hard metal/rock to sorta just rock, not that the albums following werent good or anything, i liked htem but yea j/w
Shinra Kazuya, mostly that is because they cut THAT part ( hint: sweet home alabama). still, this is my favorite metallica song with or without THAT part.
@@shootgoalin If they had included the "Sweet Home Alabama" part, then this video would have been about 5:50 long, which is still a pretty significant speed difference.
Yeah right i dnt, but thats how cliff and metallica had been playing for the 1st 4 albums, and they where getting more technical in there style ...and justice for all had many bass riffs that where clearly written by cliff just looking at One's tabs u can tell jason didnt write that. So it would have been more tunes similar to that.
He did not "Create" spider riffing. I don't even think that should be counted as a technique, and...it's stupid to claim you have ownership to it. Anthrax does it much better anyways. AMONG THE LIVING! \M/
yeah man cliff woulda made metallica not lose there ways, and most prob not allow copywrite to fuck ppl over, as lars and james do. Plus songs like One would be all over the airwaves, and many more instrumentals like orion and to live is to die.

Mechanix type speed.

The part at 3:24-3:25 was awesome.

i had over 500 metallica gigs on mp3, this is the one from cliff's last gig
Yes
@vio2112
If you can't tell if it's Cliff or Jason you don't know much about Metallica. Or music in general i suppose.
@vio2112 : This is for sure the Solnahallen show, it's a well known bootleg. And you can clearly tell that this is Cliff, not Jason

Mustaine wrote the music to it and decided he wanted to use it and turned it into Mechanix.
@MitsuMetal The cut the interlude.
Im not calling you out because i think this could be ruled out somehow, but I think this is with Jason. After Cliff died, they played at the speed of crack. When he was around they did normal tempo.
@Blackdragon52k no this is Cliff, the bass is to loud for Jason
OMG SO FUCKING GREEAAT!!!
@MrHelem did he blow out his voice between black album and load? cuz thats when things sorta changed from hard metal/rock to sorta just rock, not that the albums following werent good or anything, i liked htem but yea j/w
u reckon they would have experimented with different tuning (not C on sad St. Anger) if Cliff was still alive?
Did was a very good bassist I must admit
7:10 minutes song played into 5:03 !!! holy shit

@vio2112 lol jason ... forget he cannot play like that at this speed
is this recorded from sweden?
You can't figure out how this could be verified? Okay then...
It's the same, or were, horsemen's better though.
When Mustaine left in 1983, Hetfield changed the lyrics and added 3 minutes and changed it's name.
is it me or are they playing the song in a different tuning??

How do you know
why dont you put a cliff foto?
nah man i think its the audio quality =\
yeah man cliff woulda made metallica not lose there ways, and most prob not allow copywrite to fuck ppl over, as lars and james do.
