He encouraged it and laughed at the poor roadie that was trying to throw kids off the stage. James and Kirk combined didnt ignite the fun that Cliff alone did. I was there, age 17 -it was a total mindblower and a change of paradigma.
James' voice, ugh... this has to be one of their best live performances in my opinion. He sounds so raw and visceral, i miss it so badly, but thats what happens when you age unfortunately :( I still love them though!

Im not sorry for sayng but these dudes frm day one had all the catchy riffs,leads,vox,drums blended smooth..this is a perfect metal band..they kno it..thats why they still do wht they want too..they never gave a fuck..killd it frm day one...fuck i wish i was my age now back then..wheres that fuckn time machine hhahaha..the gyys r old now..conquered the world..there legacy has been set...grown men with familys richer thn all the other metal kings...the show will continue on,but at this point it all has been done... :)

Thinking about it more, not much has changed. James is still a beast, Kirk has grown a few pubes on his face, Cliff has ascended and, err, reborn as a Mexican, and Lars has been replaced with a right-handed Phil Collins. Mostly all good.

Alcohol helps him fuck up the lyrics most likely , i think what makes him play and sing at the same time is practise and muscle memory . Any one of us can do it ,( assuming you play guitar and have a somewhat good singing voice) if you put the hours in ! :)
