The problem is where would you start again? Warcraft one warcraft 3 world of Warcraft war of the ancients or even before that. And if u take warcraft one and 2 there is a problem aswell there are alot of story books but the games itself haven't had a story so captivating like warcraft 3 same with StarCraft where as StarCraft 2 had cinema worthy writing except of course the strange end. It might turn out like the movie or the Witcher where it's super incoherent and not the good kind of way like Metroid or Cowboy Bebop. I learned to expect nothing from blizzard anymore that has any value and since this is possible but very difficult it will never happen in a good way I can assure you of that

The only bitching came from over critical fans. It was a great movie for many. I loved the RTS, hated the MMO, so I missed out on a lot of lore. Would love a sequel.

The movie was based in the events of the Orcs making a transmission of lands. The actors were picked well, CGI done very well, storyline was good, and it flowed smoothly. It did feel abit rushed, yet it is difficult to tell a story in a movie based in different places when all events impact the story so much. The only reason there isn't a second one that we know of so far, is because after the percentages taken out from the box office they ended up losing money from making it. I believe the budget was around 150million(I could be wrong) and they only made around 145million or so. This makes them think about what they're going to do. The ending does very much make me angry since it was on a cliff hanger hinting at a second movie, which may not come out.

The movie was the closest to the source material that any movie has been. Critics not liking the fact that they felt forced to be sympathetic to both sides can take a fucking hike because that's warcraft, there is no good side and bad side. The horde are just as good and the alliance are just as bad.

  • @Duanefortner
    @Duanefortner 6 лет назад

If we all remember...the very first Warcraft game did not explain much either. All the game focused on was how the war between the horde and alliance started. The Warcraft 2 game went more into the history of the horde and the legion. Warcraft 2 also introduced us to one of our favorite characters, Illidan, and that helped the game to take off into a more favorite games to play. If the Warcraft 2 movie does get made, I am sure that it will do much better I the box office. One other thing that we have to take into consideration is how well the Warcraft DvDs sold, and it sold very well. There is a way to get them to start making the Warcraft 2 movie. We will need to start a collection so they will be able to have to budget to make the movie. The Warcraft 2 movie will need to be like the Avatar movie, longer than 4 hours. 4 hours will enable them to explain about the legion and how they manipulated the Orcs into drinking the blood of the demons. 4 hours will also explain how the Orcs overthrew Stormwind city and how they lost it, which will go on into explaining how they became slaves. Warcraft 2 needs to be in line for the introduction of Arthas, another one of our favorite characters. Several Warcraft movies will need to be 4 hours so the crowd will understand the Warcraft storyline, which includes the story about the Old Gods and their masters (Void Lords). To make this idea work...we must talk with Blizzard about obtaining a collection of money from the gamers and other people who would love to see a continue of the Warcraft movie series. I know I would give money so they could make a Warcraft 2 movie.

I wish they made a WoW movie looking good like this but not about some lore or story like they did for this movie. Instead show us more what it is like to be a player in WoW. By that I mean I want to see more things of the game. Show us the cities we know, show us Orgrimmar, Undercity, Stormwind, Ironforge....show us the inside of Org and SW, and make it look exactly like ingame. Hell I wanna see Elwyn forrest and Goldshire....people having duel tournaments as training there, I want to see STV and the arena and people fighting there. Show us the battle grounds. Warsong Gulch( used as the training grounds or something) and when you show fighting I want to see actual spells I know from the game so I wanna see a rogue stun-lock someone and use cheapshot, kidneyshot, blind etc and that goes for all classes. Don't just show a rogue vanish and the rest being all auto attacks lol like in that New Haven trailer. I want to see them going inside dungeons. HELL make multiple movies. I could see a movie just about going inside the Deadmines for example rofl after having to go through Westfall. There are so many things they could do, focus more on things like that. Things all players who played WoW can relate to. The actual GAME! With most focus on Vanilla, TBC.

I've heard that's the way it was throughout the U.S. The distribution and marketing companies dropped the ball on this one. Hard core. Before its release, I kept asking friends from across the U.S. if they'd seen the trailer on TV, and nary a one did. It's almost like the studio execs didn't really want to make a second one in the first place.

The problem was there was no big name actor as a draw card. That one knight dude who was a TV actor who I haven't seen since. Thats about it. Sucks cause I loved it and want a sequel.

@@fp3977 I have no idea who those people are. You might. But the average movie watcher won't. There was no Hollywood A list actor to draw general audiences in. Usually when there is no recognisable actor people tend to think it's a pretty shit low budget movie. I just re-watched the official trailer and it did not list one cast member l. Usually a movie trailer lists cast members, like Tom Cruise in big writing. Some of the cgi in the trailer looked terrible, there was nothing in the trailer resembling a love story or a strong female role to draw in the girls. Watching it, it looks like a total boys movie, I mean mostly for teenagers and kids. No A-list actor and no decent marketing. Of course it flopped.

I know its almost 2 years later, but they really should make the story of go'el (thrall) starting from his youth and escape from Durnhold, uniting the clans and what is left from the horde (now in lordaeron interment camps spread across northern parts of the continent) and finally getting revenge on Blackmoore for imprisoning him and raising him as slave. This is all told in the point-and-click Warcraft Adventures, game which unfortunately never saw the release due to animation companies screwing over. This is the story that needs to be in film, for all the fans of warcraft and movies!

The problem with Warcraft as a movie are the critics. They pummeled this movie saying it has a bad plot and even unlikable characters, comparing it to and cross-referencing it to LOTR, when it should not be. The story is from a game that gives the Horde-Alliance war as is, nothing much. This movie established the history and lore of the Warcraft universe, but critics don't see that because when they see a movie that they don't like yet has enough hype to it, they will wreck it thus causing other viewers to deem it unnecessary to watch. Critics should just shut up for a month of showing of any movie then release their comments.

The biggest mistake was trying to cater to both factions. they needed to start slow by following the novels. for example; if they did a movie based on the novel "the last guardian" and worked their way to the 1st war instead of rushing it, it would of been better.

Illidan and the war of ancients. Old gods and titans. This is a huge world contains lots of fantastic stories in it. You can make thousands of movies from it.

The Warcraft movie wasn’t bad by any standards. The problem is that they put it in Warcraft 1. The movie altered lore and was filled with so much filler that it makes no sense to have it in a game that-as we all recall-had an improvised story. The whole film could’ve been explained in a flashback/intro narration (one cinemasin isn’t that bad, right?) and it was a waste for it to be in WC1.
The film should have been set in Warcraft 3. Arthas’ story was far too great for them to ignore. The film could start at the meeting of Arthas and Jaina outside of Andorhal, mention the events at Hyjal but skip straight to the middle of the undead campaign, cut the filler missions (only the latter half of Quel Thalas and Dalaran really mattered).
Basically...just cover everything needed? End the film on the Lich King being born as Arthas and set the sequel up for the war against Arthas.

The flipside of most of the tickets being sold outside the US: the movie was super-popular in China, and the studio that produced it is partly Chinese-owned. I think if it we do get a sequel, it will be China that makes it happen.

They needed to start with Arthas - as paladin, the first movie would end when Arthas destroys Stratholme (you could put so much shock value and huge drama on that), while heading to northrend. Second movie would be defeating Mal'ganis in northrend and returning to kill his father (once again, huge shock value and what a drama), Third movie would be Arthas weakening, and how hard he fights to regain his powers and become the Lich King, this movie would be a good set up for Sylvanas.

Main problem is that the lore of Warcraft is way too big for the cinema. This needs to be a TV series on the same level as Game of thrones or West world. The movie wasn't terrible but the lore wasn't accurate and I think it's because they had to fit everything in a 2 hour length film.

The most important thing to look at about the Movie is that Blizzard rushed into making the movie and should have started the movie from the beginning of the storyline so that they could capture a wider audience base and in doing so it would have taken a series of movies to complete the story rather than just 2 or 3.

One thing the movie totally failed in , was how they presented time. Garona had learned the humans words from captured humans. So it means that the time between the orch arrivel to azeroth and her capture by the humans it was atleast a few mounths time. But in the movie it feels like days.
They could have easaliy fixed that with just looking a the map and Said like ” we have lost 6 garrisions in 5 mounths to an unknown enemy and the problem would have been solved.
But the actor playing khadgar Wasent good. The fight scenes was to slow and the story arc was really shallow.
