On the Mk1 model, go for the older one with “optical in” on the back. The one without (they kept the same model designation…) is absolutely different in sound, pretty mediocre. The one with optical in though… that one sounds magical. Both are completely different on the back panel and probably the insides.
I own the Kilburn speaker, and it is the best portable speaker i have ever heard... Fact is i was so impressed i bought the woburn as a speaker for my kitchen... Sadly it was simple TOO loud! So had to give it away to my father, so i could have it in his cabin (and it do not have any problems of filling the cabin with sound... And more!)... Fact is... If you live in a 2 room or less apartment (not counting kitchen) i would not recommend going for the woburn! Unless you really hate your neighbours
@@AxemanMessiah I find the Stanmore better for flats of 2 rooms (+ kitchen) better than the Acton. If smaller I would either go with the Acton or the Kilmore.
I own the Stanmore and I agree it produces an amazing sound for its size. The cost is very reasonable. I don't think there is another speaker in this price range that can touch it. Some of newer Marshall speakers I believe allow pairing for two speaker stereo sound.
Hi there I feel the same way i read reviews saying 3 is loud and at three mine barely sounds, is it mine or yours is the same at around 7 it starts getting better and the sound quality is awesome
I have a question regarding presentation set up. Do you think it would be a good choice for presentation to an audience where you want to bring your own sound system?
Great question! It’s hard to say without knowing the size of the room and audience. I would say that, in general, it is both loud and clear enough to handle a presentation but there are probably some better choices out there for BYO sound systems. The cheapest Stanmore I found was $250 USD (or $350 USD brand new) and it’s still only 80W vs a 500W Pyle loudspeaker on Amazon for $75 that also features XLR inputs for standard audio gear. Thanks for watching!
great video, as always! your channel has done amazing improvement! the only thing i would suggest you is to have a green screen behind you and do something like linus tech tips
I heard that when using the Aux channel there is a 1sec delay and that from time to time the speakers disconnect from google chrome cast or other WiFi pairing do you confirm
In terms of reliability, these speakers are junk. My boss has owned two so far, both of them failed in the same way, the second time was just outside of warranty. Seems to be a common problem with them, they just stop powering on. Somebody on the Marshall forums asked if they were prone to bluetooth errors and power problems, and a Marshall staff member said they have never had any major bluetooth trouble, and ended their reply there. It's expensive, retailing at $800 NZD, and it's a Marshall licensed product, so you'd expect decent quality. Marshall in their infinite wisdom cover the PCB in some kind of crap to make it a lot less easy to troubleshoot and repair.
Speaker is a total piece of shit. Mine broke right after warranty ended and a MARSHALL APPROVED ELECTRONICS REPAIR place told me "Hello, Im sorry but we do not repair those marshall speakers. We have found from experience that these tend to be unrepairable and googles easy fix on them doesn't work. Thanks and have a nice day"... Googling around brings a lot of people with the same problem. Marshalls wont help you if not in warranty.
I’ve owned it for a year now. It’s since become one of my favourite speakers ever. Money well spent. 10/10 would recommend.

Is that a fact?
Did your find the Acton II or Stanmore II more suitable?

Are there any differences in audio quality between Stanmore 2 and Stanmore Multiroom? Thanks
Hey, finally before I buy! will the Marshall-Stanmore 3 speaker sound good in a very small room? Thank you
Great video, I'm gonna go buy one now.
They sound great! Only thing it's missing is Google Assistant. Thanks for watching!
Same

Which one better for quality sound, woburn 2 or woburn multiroom?
Does anyone have any thoughts regarding this vs the Stanmore 2 in regards to sound quality?
Cheers
I like the word he used “crispy”
It doesn’t drown out conversation even on 10! For the price i was expecting it to be much louder but the quality is good.

I live in an apartment and don't go past 5 on the volume.

What's the battery life like?
The 3 top-tier speakers in the Marshall lineup (and the Standmore is one of those) are all AC powered - no batteries. Thanks for watching!
New model out with wifi.
