If I remember correctly, Vader killed her father the late king because he thought nobility gives him sway with the Empire, Emperor, and Vader to do what he wanted. Vader came with the piece of Alderaan as a present and did Vader things so they will obey the Empire/Emperor.
This is a different queen.

Do not listen to this man sand is not a deterrent, it only angers him. He killed not just the men, but the women and children while surrounded by sand. He slaughtered an entire rebel army single handedly in the middle if a desert.
@@JackDuripper He caused the thermal detonators/grenades on the rebels to detonate rapidly to cause chaos and confusion that ended up fatal. Plus they lacked the high ground

Ordinarily you would just tell them to leave... That way you get to keep your guards and people will be more likely to not shoot you at sight or defect to the rebellion.
But what am I saying, ordinarily you wouldn't have a puppet-queen infiltrate for you, you'll use specially trained agents in a loyal secret service (not killing people randomly does wonders) to do that. Just tell the queen to mine and stuff, use your agents to do the double-agent stuff. It's more believable if it isn't the queen of all people. Also: A puppet-ruler like her can have ambitions of her own, why trust her with information like this?
I believe Vader wanted to make a scene though. Why would the rebels trust her? Cause Vader killed her personal guard and aid. To the galaxy, it would look like the empire was showing force to make her obedient. To the rebels, she had a very strong motive to aid them. To Vader, it was all a setup by his hands.

@Instrumentality1000 yeah but unlike most officers that get I Vader's way, she understood what happens if you betray or fail Vader. And she's smart enough to not go rogue. As she also knows, the empire rewards loyalty (when it meets their own interests of course *cough* operation cinder *cough* )
I guess the Empire's definiton of reward is "barely staying alive while allowing one's dignity to be trampled". No wonder that the rebels would rather die than suffering under the Empire. A government that never give a damn to its people and reward loyal subordinates won't last long.
Vader could have literally just told the queen to have everyone leave the room but nooooooooo just murder a bunch of folk for the sake of it.

Which also seems a bit risky having a public figure such as a queen act as a double agent.
That is the thing I hate the most about Darth Vader. He always commit unnecessary murder just to show how evil he was. Even Palpatine, the literal embodiment of evil, is not as bloodthirsty as Vader.

Ima be real, that scene where Vader killed everyone was pretty...dark for someone who only knows the Disney Star Wars from the movies. I believe there was too much blood since a lightsaber would normally just cauterize any wound it makes.
It would actually cause the water in your flesh to instantly flash to steam, causing the wound to explode like a zit, spraying blood everywhere.
A lightsaber, or even a blaster wound would in reality be gory af. When that much heat energy (enough to cut/penetrate through your armor, garments, flesh and bones) is transferred into your body, it will cause the water inside your body to steam instantly. Imagine a pressure cooker, but with no sturdy metal to hold back the pressure, just flesh.
So when you see somebody getting an arm cut off with a lightsaber, and they just get a prosthetic put on, they'd need to run the control wires a lot further up the arm just to get good nerve endings to work with. At minimum, a good portion of that stump would need to be surgically amputated, and a gut wound would be fatal no matter where you get hit.
I personally really enjoy Star Wars being this dark and it really highlights why everyone was so terrified of Vader
One must ask themselves: "When you've partnered (surrendered) with the Empire and Darth Vader is the watch dog. What would YOU sacrifice for YOUR planet?"
