    Pad advance procedure! It is the key to have firm and stiff lever. Without that i had problems with spongy levers

    Is this the same process for the Rival and Force?

    Thank you for this Grant 👌🏾👌🏾 Question tho, why does my back brake always feel more spongy then the front and it only "bites" closer to the handlebar than the front?

      longer hose maybe a bubble is stuck somewhere, when pushing fluid through try to roatate the bike towards the air like front wheel towards the sky and rear wheel and see if you can get the bubbles to move

    The front calipers always bleed fine. It's the rear that I've had issues with in all my shimano AND sram hydraulic brakes. Mega spongey and loose lever no matter what direction I flip the bike, how I fill/pull/pressurize from the lever. But the trick is to do exactly what they tell you not to do: push gently from the caliper end after you've pressurized the system. I still don't understand why this is the case for me but shit works.

      Remember when the procedure used to be keep pushing back and forth at both ends until no more bubbles come out either syringe? I 'member.

      lmao I know thats how it was

      yea longer hoses, more chances for bubbles to get hung up in places especially with internal cables

    Is there Anny upside to the dot fluid ???
    Or only downsides ?

      It is soluble with water so you wont get a water bubble if somehow water gets into your system compared to mineral oil but apart from that there's only down sides.

      Works in a much greater temperature range. Can't run mineral oil when it's too cold. Easy to buy without needing a bike shop and much cheaper.

      here in florida with the heat in summer some brakes lock up from the fluid expanding, I like shimano better for longevity

  • @DanTuber

    Is the bleeding process easier or harder with shimano?

    • @Jspro-z6s
      @Jspro-z6s 5 часов назад

      Bucket makes it easier really. Less steps.

      I mean at the end of the day the crapm thing about both is prepping and the equipment once you have everything both are the same just pushing fluid through

    Why are they still using horrible brake fluid, it's nasty on your hands and ruinous to paint ?? Please move to oil Sram..

      They did it with their last gen of mtb brakes and still released these still using dot fluid after that, total nonsense.

      It’s the same regulated brake fluid used in cars. What’s the issue?

      So they could sell hood upgrade to all old generation red and force users. It worked. The upgrade kit has been hard to get and includes an expensive computer that you may not want?

      they are starting to make brakes with mineral oil, like there new mtb brakes maybe in the future, but ti is kind of like them saying eveyrhting they said in th epast about why it was superior is wrong lol

    Why do the change the bleedport every time to some new ones …..
    After using sram on my last bike …I’m now a happy user of shimano on all my bikes …

    Just buy a rim brake bike and enjoy your time riding. A rim brake bike is Cheaper and basically has no maintenance

      Mechanical disc brake

    • @bingbing3464
      @bingbing3464 10 часов назад +1

      Having both rim and disc, rim requires way more maintenance lol. My disc is never maintained apart from pads while in the same duration i have changed the cable and housing 3 times and im using jagwire... and even changed a whole new wheelset because it has worn off.
