I had a 1987 300zx non turbo. It ran beautiful for me, never 1 problem. I loved the T-Tops and I ran 100 mph quite often. Running 100 mph was easy for the car. The fastest I did in my non turbo was 147 mph. It was a nice cruising car and I wish I never sold it.
I still have my '85 300zx Turbo! It's NOT like that, but one day......ONE DAY! Same color except burgundy interior, digital dash, suspension control. Incredible
Miss my white, one lady owned '84 turbo. Great GT cars. Make sure and plug the pop-off valve with an NPT plug if you raise boost. I remember Adding an MBC and not immediately realizing why boost didn't go up. If I had it now I'd have left it stock.
This would be probably the 12th one I've owned. I love this car model. I've done it all except internal works. Would love to see what you do with yours. 👍
…….I wouldn’t be able to take it…I would have to remove the muffler and let her breathe lol the old school exhausts choked up sooo bad plus nothing is more empowering than the blast of a boosted motor !
Same mine is 88na. Make sure to keep an eye on oil pressure. They got inefficient oil systems as is, with the extra turbo lines and heat it could drop it 15-20 psi in the summer. I got a cooler and an extra electric scavenger pump to keep the oil cool and the pressure up.
The Turbos had a "beefier" sounding exhaust note than the non-turb models from the Factory. Idk why you're is so quiet? I think aftermarket "stock" replacements only made the quiet versions.
Jarrid Phillips okay so dummy question, what exactly is HP? Since power is only described with HP, I’m asking because Nissan claimed 160 HP NA and 200 for the Turbos
@@bryanrodarte5205 when manufacturers say a cars Hp number, they're almost always talking about CRANK hp unless other wise stated..crank hp is how much power the motor itself makes...WHP is power the engine puts down to the wheels after drivetrain loss (it's more or less, depending on if you have a heavy or light weight clutch/flywheel (if its manual) or if its auto) typically autos have more drivetrain loss cause of all the heavy parts the engine has to move. WHP CAN vary though...depending on where you live, the altitude, air density etc. Those all gave effects on how much whp you make cause the computer has to tell the engine to manage itself according to the outside conditions. The crank hp is always the same...but a 200hp car in Colorado and a 200hp car in Texas where the sea level is almost none, the car in texas will be slightly faster UNLESS it's a hot summer day in texas then the tables might turn. On boosted applications your car can get heat soaked faster and your car will make less power. The hotter your motor gets the less power you make..which is the reason why they let the cars cool off after a certain amount of pulls.
84-86 non turbo 300zx makes 160hp to the crank and 87-88 makes 165hp. The 84-86 turbo 300zx makes 200hp to the crank and 87-88 makes 205hp. Torque is 227 to the crank

I dint know they could get that fast. nice to know they could sit comfortably at 100 mph.
Love the stock sound , thank you for the video!
No AC in Arizona lol! Been there done that keep a small spray bottle with you so you can roll the windows down and cool off while driving .

Damn that's about 30% power loss.
Nice dude, i own a 86 and after my time belt broke i took my time to restore the engine and was able to get 180 out of it
Thanks. that's pretty good for a stock motor!
@@jakesscc9184 will the 1985 300zx turbo dust a modern day maxima?
Dude this thing is clean. Love my z31 and my z34. Nice z man.

oh yeah I'm definitely going to do that when its time to raise the boost. I just need to do a few more things to the car before I start adding power!

Theirs a tool in the hatch that is for spark plugs makes it an easy job.

Doesn’t the non turbo models make like 168 from factory

Hello bro, would like to contact you about the car if it’s available
What is stock crank power? I thought these had about 220
These cars came out of the factory with 200hp and 220 ft lbs so you where close.
As difficult as it was for that car to start it has an issue somewhere so its gonna be down on power, can't wait to get my 86 turbo on a dyno
Do they come with an lsd?
