YES! I had a 1988 300zx with the digital dash and T-top. Man, do I miss that car. So much fun to drive, especially on a nice warm spring or summer day.
Considering pristine 1988 Trans Am GTA's go for close to 40k I'd sell my rough one for half. Only 20k for a second owner 67k mile, top of the line, for 1988, Trans Am. So many dreamers out there. Hoovie, you've saved me and many more viewers, thousands of dollars and headaches by being the dumbest automotive channel on RUclips.
Out of all of the cars he has had, I'm quite surprised and disappointed that he didn't opt to repair this car.

Same, really woukd have loved to see this get fixed instead of the 100th Mercedes. Could have cut some cost too with things like coilovers and such. Sad this didn't get the love it deserves.

This 300Z would have been one of your coolest “rebirths”. This car would have taken your channel back to its roots. Normal people like me like to see the exotics but a car like this is so exciting to see brought back to life.

I have to admit: it's getting really old with all the exotics on every RUclips channel.
While the exotic cars are really neat to see and daydream about, these everyday type of drivers from back in the day connect on a whole different level. There is a level of nostalgia with something like the 280ZX and the 300ZX. People like me actually knew people that drove a car like this. While hardly any of us ever knew anybody that owned a Lamborghini or a Ferrari or any other high-end exotic.
The one thing that's really crappy is that everybody seems to think that all RUclips viewers want to do is view only the cars they made posters for.

I think they have their place for sure. Hoovie strikes the perfect balance for me, it’s neat seeing some older super cars, but it’s neater still seeing some mint affordable and lower end luxury cars too.
Had an exotic car. Worst thing I ever bought, impractical as all fuck. Was finicky and temperamental and I was always afraid to drive it anywhere far away cause I just couldn’t fully trust it 100 percent. Sold it back in September last year and I was glad I did. Had it for 20 years and drove it less and less cause it was getting old. The final draw came when the catalytic converter started to fail and it kept throwing a code PO-420 that and having moved and loosing my place to keep it didn’t help either. Sure I’ll miss my 911 turbo but I got a good price for it and bought something much more usable

The main reason I stopped watching this channel regularly. This is the first video I’ve watched in months because I saw thumbnail and the car interested me. Now I see he’s not even going to keep it. Oh well, back on the don’t watch list.
Definitely would have liked to see that brought back to life. The Ferrari’s are cool and all but this would have really been cool to see.
I’m actually tired of seeing all the Exotics and their endless issues; I’d rather see the Wizard fix something like this and get it sorted out
This is more a car for the Wizard’s RUclips channel. But the Wizard said last week that he does not want to deal with long term projects anymore. May be they both agreed to take a pass on this one.

I bought the car, itll be restored, dont worry. The 8k estimate is maybe fine to get someone to do everything (and still pretty high imo), but degraded parts and a turbo rebuild (its just an old Garrett t3 and can be upgraded) are under 3k. Someone asked me to do some YT vids on it and I may try some as I restore.
This ZX is probably the best purchase you've made in years. Of course you should fix it. I'd actually recommend a full restoration for this one, it's SO COOL.
Does make sense to fully restore with those miles.

The cut wires in the engine are from the Nissan recall/service campaign for the fuel injectors in the 1990's. The injectors and wires were known to catch on fire, so Nissan fixed it by issuing a patch harness amongst other items to be replaced. Since the injectors batch fire, it was easier to cut the four other injector leads, cap them off, and run the injectors off two injector leads only. The recall patch harness can be identified by the two yellow stripes on the fuel injector harness seen in the video.

I feel bad for Hoovie, If I knew him I would have helped him fix the essentials like the turbo and timing belt for really cheap.
It's basically a turbo Maxima and those 3000 engines are simple.
I replaced 3 of them in my 90 maxima and they are definitely not hard to work on.
It would have been cool to see that car live again.
@@StealthyWolfDaddyWerewolf On these 300ZXs like this I have been reading up on rebuilding the turbo and the replacements needed, is it true you are better off pulling the engine out entirely if it needs lots of rubber/seal replacements and turbo work? I actually bought this car from Kamal, and I have an engine hoist, but people are all over the place on forums whether to go that far or not. Parts have been much cheaper to order than I thought (gpopshop has proper carbon seal T3 rebuild kits for 100 bucks lol) but reading up on how to get to everything has a lot of conflicting info. Plus if I go as as far as pulling the engine I can do some other stuff like replace the clutch easier. Its my first Z and full resto, so im doing everything right the first time, no shortcuts.
@@dentron9885 Not sure if you want to tear it down to a short block and do all the seals.
If I were you I would start with the turbo first and make sure you don't end up breaking exhaust studs.
Your best bet is to change the oil and examine for metal in oil and filter before anything to make sure the turbo did not shoot out all the oil and kill the motor or bearings.
If you have broken exhaust / manifold studs then it's like you kinda have to remove the heads if you can't get em out.
I would change the oil, replace the turbo and get it able to rev / operate "gently" and properly first.
You don't want to rev it hard and be cautious of the timing belt, maybe remove the cover first just to make sure it is not super bad.
Then if it comes back to life do the timing belt the 2 cam seals main seal and water pump. Then drive it for a little bit gently to see if it's leaking oil or acting / sounding strange.
Be sure to mark the cams and crank teeth to the belt on the old one and mark match it to the new belt then put it on. Be sure you have a good paint pen for metal. It's interference so marking teeth precisely is essential.
I suggest Castrol engine oil only, I use magnatec or the sludge clean depending on how it looks each oil change or if it's got buildup from cheap oil.
You can remove the motor and put all the parts on it, but if you can get the turbo changed and do the timing belt. It might be worth it to see if the clutch is working right and just do a few things at a time if it needs it.
I don't know if the oil pan is harder to get off because of a brace or anything.
But it could be a nightmare if you were to redo all the seals then the head gaskets went bad or something happened before you.
Also do the thermostat.
I blew my first 3000 engine running it while overheating bad thermostat and it popped everything.
The second crate engine had a rod knock later
The 3rd engine on the other maxima was from a used automatic and ran fine.
Sold that car and got another.
My last Maxima engine in different car had a head gasket issue with overheating going up hills. Had to keep the thermostat out with no issues.
So all that being said if you can change the turbo with no issues and get it running.
Do the timing belt thermostat water pump and drive it for a while.
Then once you get to know the car you can decide if you need other seals, head gaskets .etc.
I think that car had 100 something k on it. So it shouldn't need alot.
Then if you need to do head gaskets .etc.
You can remove everything and know you are not trying to revive something that's really bad.
Driving on a bad turbo can lead to oil loss, engine air mixture issues .etc.
I have had to learn the hard way that anything metal in the oil means immediately checking the rod bearings along with the engine has to operate properly and sound good before tearing it down to a short block and redoing all the seals.
The Maxima heads can warp too, so compression tests are important.
For the timing belt, just remove the radiator and do it from ontop or below.
It is kinda more fun when you have one issue at a time than all in one.
I do the slow process on my own vehicles nowadays and it makes it more fun and teaches you what kind of impact that bad part was doing to say handling braking shifting .etc.
This is kamal ,I sold the car to hoovie and I bought it back, it is going to a good home a gentleman that have always wanted one and he is going to spend money on it and bring it back to the shape it deserves.

It’s crazy that he doesn’t want to fix this car. It’s sickening actually. The value of these cars is skyrocketing and this one has so much going for it.
This is the first car he’s featured that I can truly relate to and he wants nothing to do with it.

I actually don't think its worth fixing.
Its got 100K miles, not in the greatest shape (though not terrible), its not that low mileage barn find that is going to reward you, its going to hold the same value of any other 300ZX Turbo with 100K that's in above average shape except those haven't been sitting for 1-2 decades and aren't going to require thousands in repairs.
Unless he got it at the right price, its not justifiable, and while these may be rising in price, his won't be the shining example that ends up on some auction site and goes for record money.

I’ve gotta agree with everyone in the comments here, FIX THAT HOOPTIE! It’s definitely cooler than most of the cars you’ve brought to the wizard recently. The Ferraris, Mercedes and BMWs that need repairs constantly are getting pretty stale on this channel. This is something that is actually worth saving and should be reliable for years to come once the restoration is complete.
My first '86 NA 300ZX had 400,000 miles on it when I bought it from the original owner who replaced the timing belt 7 times! I thrashed it for years and sold it for quite the profit...

In ‘95 I got my first car, an ‘86 300ZX. My Dad paid $900 for it, with a broken odometer stuck at 222,158 miles. The digital dashboard still worked great, and so did the lady’s voice. I drove that car for almost 15 years, and up until the end the only things I ever had to get done were the brakes, a couple clutches, oil changes, and a new exhaust. Sadly though it had sat for a few months and a family of mice decided they wanted all the wiring to make a nest. A short while later I got my 2nd car, a ‘92 300ZX. I haven’t looked back since. These cars are awesome and deserve to be preserved!

The Japanese car scene has a huge following and putting 8 to 10k into this to get it where it needs to be isn't that bad. Every youtuber has a Ferraris and Lamborghini cars. This Nissan is an absolute gem.

Well depending how much he got it for he may not be upside down. The turbo Zs go for a lot of money these days, whether people are actually buying them at the high price may be a different story but they're definitely listed high.

Things like this are my favorite part of this channel. The exotics are great and everything but I think the older more obscure cars are much more interesting. That being said it's very disappointing that this one isn't getting fixed. Hope to see more cars like this in the future.

Hoovie 4 years ago would have loved to restore this car. Maybe he would have wrenched on it himself. This is a dream barn find. No rust, runs and drives. Suspension, tune up and turbo are the definition of LUCKY to only need work. This was a lame shot for views. probably scripted and planned from the beginning. He has no intention to restore this beauty.

I was really hoping to see a Japanese car make its way to the channel again since it's been so long. I'm with the others here in saying I love the exotics but find a car like this to be a little more interesting.

@@VintageandVoltage Its me, but I'm not advertising too much about it, I really haven't done any YT recording and stuff, but I could give it a go. I am gonna be restoring the car back to original condition (only thing that may have to go is the fancy electronic shocks since those seem to be unobtainium these days, and normal adjustable replacements are dirt cheap, but ill keep an eye out if some show) It'll be shipped to me in about a month from Kamal, and im already planning parts list for full rubber and degraded component replacement, rev issue is due to MAF, new thermostat, new hoses, etc. Being rust free and not messed with I couldnt pass it up for the price. Itll be my first car resto and I plan on doing it right. Also the 'cut' wiring is from the injector recall and isnt actually missing anything engine wise.
Love this car so damn much. My father had a 1984 Datsun 300zx Turbo with a 5 speed. It was beige. When I first heard about this car I fell completely in love with it. I don't find many good YT videos on them as they are very underrated, so I'm very glad that you guys are giving this car the attention it deserves!

I own the same ‘80s era Z31 300ZX Turbo since new. Those cut wires were from a recall where they replaced the fuel injectors and had to replace the wiring. They all look as if they are “cut”. Feel free to ask any ECU questions as these cars are complicated to getting running right. There are lots of little tricks and the ECU error codes are misleading.
It would have been awesome to see the whole loom get redone, the distributor deleted and a haltech to run the car better than it ever was.

With a body that rust-free underneath I'd definitely consider fixing her. I don't know how common these are in the US, but this side of the pond most have rusted away by now, and that alone makes them pretty rare. Wouldn't have been your worst decision to have this one fixed.
i can say i've seen two and neither were twin turbsky models, very very rare over here
I've never seen a turbo in the wild here in CA, only on online listing for sale in some random town way out there in farm country. Prolly a sign of the turbo models reliability. I'd be down to own a non turbo model just for the looks.
Here in the states if you live in the Northern states you getting rust ,but Southern cars rust free
I live in SW Florida and these Z31's are getting rarer and more expensive almost monthly it seems... Wish I still had the 5 I previously owned. Hoovie is extra dumb for letting this go. I would like to pursue buying it myself for nearly that price.

After he got the Mercedes SLS I remember him talking about returning to the early days of the channel and trying to do more unique cheaper hoopties, and he seemed to be on that track for a bit, but it does seem like he has gone back to pricier cars. What cheaper hoopties he does buy, he only has one or two videos on before never talking about them again or getting rid of them. I do understand that the market has changed and cars from the 80s and 90s, at least unique ones, have gone up in price. It would still be nice to see, though, instead of the basic cheap luxury, expensive classics, and exotic cars.

Yes, yes, yes. I guess we'll see if he reads comments on this. Truth is a whole lot of us have zero interest in Mercedes, BMW, Ferrari and less interest in owning one. Even those who can afford them. I'm 40 now and could easily afford a 355 or 360 but they have no appeal at all to me. They were old guy lame cars when I was younger and my opinion hasn't changed. I'm a domestic guy through and through but when this car was new even I looked over at it at the redlight from my Camaro or Mustang and admired it. Looking over at a 355 or 360 at the same time only brought about thoughts of Bosley and wheel of fortune. Hopefully he'll realize the car's here can't only appeal to him because if a bunch of us bounce he'll be left driving hoopties again.
Missed opportunity to restore an 80’s icon. I owned an 85 turbo with the digital dash, regret selling back in 95. It was getting looks from drivers back then. Hoovie, please reconsider a restoration of this amazing car. You will get your money back, lots of views and the car will keep you company as she chats about doors being open.

I agree, man. Anybody can go out and buy a newer exotic, but some of these older cars get wayyyy more attention and are super fun drivers.

I have personally owned a 1984 300ZX and an 85. Awesome cars! And a great engine! Not to mention the secondary market on these cars in this kind of condition you would’ve easily gotten your money back out of it.
They're great...when they've been driven. I didn't hear "replace every rubber gasket" on that itemized list, so I'm sure that $10,000 is closer to the actual cost of that restoration.

I love those cars but he already paid retail value for it. To put another $8000 in a car worth $4-6k is just ridiculous. Hoovie really needs to start doing some of his own repairs. He has good knowledge of how to do basic things. He would save a ton.
$5k to buy and $10k or so to fix. 80s Japanese sports cars are going way up in price. Our 89 Supra turbo has gone from maybe $8k pre pandemic to around $20k now.

That ZX is so cool, in amazing condition for it's age. Most of those repairs are age related, just expensive because they all need doing at once instead of over the lifetime of the vehicle!

I bought a 1988 2+2 out of 16 years of storage, had 91,000+ miles on it. Analog dash, controls in steering wheel. The used car people foolishly started it up without clearing out the old fluids, but it ran. I bought it cheap to get it off his lot, spent some money replacing things here and there, and it's my daily driver. Fantastic car, drives like a dream local or highway, sounds awesome in it's natural state as designed. Had to find an older mechanic who doesn't depend on modern car computer. Always get's admiring looks and comments, lots of people have fond memories of it. Incredible Nissan abandoned this model, people would buy it today.

Be aware due to the storage there is an outstanding recall on it. It was replacing the fuel injectors and injector wiring harnesses on it. Used to work for Nissan and did LOTs of them.

Correct. There is a mandatory recall on the fuel injection system. Every car should have it done. If there is no record of it having been done, the dealer must replace several parts the fuel injection system AT NO COST. The car will spray fuel across the top of the motor and catch fire otherwise. Good for views, not for the longevity of a car that most definitely should be saved. I owned one (non turbo), a family member had a turbo version. They are amazing cars. If it isn't rusty that car is worth saving. Swap out the adjustable suspension (there are kits for this). It is expensive and prone to failure.

@@paristrout8469 I had a metallic blue with blue interior 85 Turbo manual and had the recall work done in like 2001 or 2002. The service manager literally gave me the “you’re kidding right?” face. However it had never been done so they did it.
@@popejohnny5 Ha. When I took mine in, I had already redone most of the car. I had pulled the motor, replaced the exhaust, cold air intake, electric cooling fans, etc. I had also gotten 3rd party distributor, cap and rotor, that had a lifetime guarantee.
Took the car in for the recall. Ran like a top, sounded better, smoked the tires. 2 days later went to pick it up. Pulled it out of the service department, drove around the building, and brought it right back into the service department. Ran like shit.
Argued with the dealer for DAYS. their response was "it runs fine for a car of its age". Multiple times. Long story short, I told them it felt/sounded like a misfire (after driving it for .1miles). Asked them to check the distributor, it was common for idiots to wack it with a ratchet handle and crack it when working on the motor. Told them not to replace it if its bad, because I had a lifetime warranty. He calls me back 2 hours later. "Hey your distributor was cracked, we replaced it, and it runs great." Of course they threw away the cap I had.
I f'ing hate dealers.
I would have liked to see this get fixed. Its more interesting to me than the exotic stuff.

This would’ve been a great content to watch. I’m with everyone, should’ve fixed it and the car wizard can make a profit on top of fixing the car as well by just documenting the restoration on his RUclips channel which I’m sure a lot of us is also subscribed to
Agree entirely - so many automotive You Tubers thoughtlessly discard what made them appealing in the first place - their success seems to be their undoing....or is it that they become slaves to their sponsors? I wish they'd listen to their subscribers and keep the good stuff coming; if it ain't broke, why disappoint your audience with boring self-indulgence on exotics?

I had a 79 Datsun/Nissan 280zx loved that car it was navy blue. Had the 5 point rims on it. Inline 6 5sp manual, fuel injected. Custom stereo in it. Lots of innovation for a car made when I was 6 years old. Glad to hear someone is going to fix this old girl back up to her original glory even if it will not be documented on video.
I had a silver 1984 300ZX turbo…with the factory hood scoop….was quite a head-turner in the day. Very reliable car.
Doesn't appear to be any rust at all. That alone makes this an excellent buy, IMO.

My 1st car was a 84 300zx non turbo 2+2 with digital gauges. My mom bought the car for 500$ in 95 with 0 rust and 74k miles. What a steal. Only thing I had to replace was the mass airflow sensor, otherwise the car ran great. It always felt way ahead of it's time. Was looking forward to Hoovie fixing this one up!
I would definitely pay $15,000 for a mechanically sound and interiors refreshed car like this. You cannot find things like this today - take your pick - this or a $30k+ BRZ, etc.

man i was really hoping to see this one get fixed. I had an 88 zx turbo when i was a teenager and it was an awesome car.
My first car was an 89 240sx that had a 92 300zx drivetrain, suspension and brakes... It was a rocket ship...! 3.0L(non-turbo), 5-speed and 4-wheel disc...a 16 year old probably shouldn't have had it, but I did...! Thanks, keep up your awesomeness and go enjoy some nature today...

The Fairlady is actually very much worth saving. You'll be shocked at the values once she's all squared up. We're losing more and more each day, this one deserves a resto. I hope someone with the means will treat her right.
Hoovie, I’m sure you’ve already looked at the values of these cars but in case you didn’t, I just checked Hagarty. The average value for an ‘85 300 ZX turbo in good condition is $18,500. Considering you paid $5000 for it and your friends and family discount with the Wizard let’s you get what it needs done for $8500, you’re still ahead by $5000.
I would not have hesitated to get this car fixed up right with everything she needs. She’s a beauty. These are ever more rare as time goes in because, especially those from rust belt areas of the country, they completely rotted away by now. Or younger kids got a hold of them when they were cheap but still in working order and completely thrashed them to death or wrapped them around telephone poles.
Also, 1985 is the first year Nissan discarded the Datsun nameplate in America, so this can be considered a first year nameplate. Which dies add to its value a little.
If I could get the discount Wizard gives you for everything it needs, I would offer to buy it from you right now for what you paid and have Wizard do the project. You should seriously reconsider this project.

My heart's with you on this but my head tells me $13.K only gets you a mechanically sound car based on known issues. Hoovie needs to consider the inevitable unseen ones plus some money to get the interior up to snuff. Supply chains aren't going to get any better in the short run and this car could be a resident in the Wizard's garage for 6-12 months. Tyler maybe thought I can make a lot more in far less time on another vehicle. Still it would be a cool build.
Sounds reasonable except those Hagarty cars are in much better shape. That 8 grand is only mechanical. After that there's all the cosmetic which could be another 8 grand easy. Totally upside down on a cool runner but that's it. If this was your dream car then it might be worth it, otherwise stay far away!
It’s possible you might be a bit optimistic in your pricing. Hagarty has those valued at $9500 in good condition. Last value update January 2022.

I like when Hoovie shows us his quirky self. Like the cute skits and movie references. Not acting to try and be awkward or screwy necessarily on purpose, but just the general cool and different quirky type of guy that he is. For instance his 80s public access style music intro. A lot of his weird and cool taste has been diluted as he has dubbed himself the "Dumbest". He's not dumb, he's nostalgic, different, and has interesting taste for things and details many others overlook.

Sounds like this car needed a straight up rebuild from the ground up. Definitely a project for an 80s/90s car enthusiast.

It is the perfect spec, and the kind of car that built the channel. I am hugely disappointed in both Hoovie and Wizard for passing on this beauty. I was SO EXCITE for this car seeing it in the background of older videos for weeks... Big mistake on their end.
I had a 1986 Nissan Bluebird (Stanza I think in the US) that had sat for around 15 years, just started right up on stale fuel, on the second turn of the key. Didn't drive out as the clutch had seized, but once it had freed off, what a wonderful, light, smooth action, all controls were perfectly weighted. Puts many more modern cars to shame!
For the first time I was truly looking forward to see something getting fix on your channel. This is what most people would want to watch. We all know exotics are expensive and also boring to watch. This was something truly good for your channel and you passed. It's not about how much it costs to get it fix it's about how much you can get out of it fixing it. Wake up!!

In 1990 I bought a 1986 Nissan 300ZX with 60,000 miles on it that was in mint condition. It wasn’t the same sports car my 1977 Datsun 280Z was (light, agile, fast) but it was fast and had every power feature you could ask for. It handled well and was a very comfortable car to go for long drives in. By the time I sold it in 1996 it had 324,000 miles on it and was still very reliable. It wasn’t as gorgeous as the Datsun 240, 260 & 280 had been, and the half closed headlights made it look like it was stoned, but it was a good looking car that always got compliments. Too bad the Italians couldn’t ever build cars with same degree of quality and reliability.
I owned 2 different 85' 300zx turbos. 1st one was $1'400 in 2002, 2nd was only $500 in 2010. They were rough in a lot of ways but were a blast to drive
The 300 is one of my favorite from my teenage years. As much as I love the Ferrari’s and such early Japanese sports cars will always have a special place in my heart.
Disappointed, Hoovie. This is the type of stupid investment that made this channel what it is. That car sorted out, and detailed to perfection would be so awesome. Much cooler than the exotics you've become obsessed with because your average viewer may actually come across an old Z car and purchase it, as opposed to buying a Ferrari that needs work which 95% of us won't ever do.
Seeing the wizards progression in front of the camera is without a doubt my favorite thing to watch on YT. This man looked like a serial killer at first and now I look forward to his videos.
I had an mid-80s ZX non-turbo. Loved that car, though I wish I had the turbo. Driving through Ohio and stopped at small country store and some Amish kids rode up on a horse and buggy and were looking at it. I made the doors talk and they were floored. It was great.
You bought a Z31 Turbo! My favorite car, I own 5 currently and have owned way more than that. Well worth saving , one of the coolest cars out there for the money. The tech in the 84 GLL was amazing for the time, especially the digital gauges. No surprised it started with fuel system clean, I have gotten dozens to work the same way after years of sitting. They are so well built that it won't take much to get back to life, rust will be the determining factor. But it looks clean, too bad you are selling it back. Disappointed. All those items listed are expected for the car of this age, but not at once. It's actually worse to get a car that's been sitting for years because no one has replaced or maintained anything on it. Most z31's you'd buy right now would have had alot of those parts replaced by now.
Agreed Gary! I owned 5 previously that I wish I had kept... just recently acquired an '86 Turbo GLL 5-Speed Digi-Dash that I'm currently restoring. Every power option/dash still works! Some of the best built cars EVER!
Even with that big bill, having her returned to her former glory, she would've been worth much more than you invested. The price of these classic Z's has been going through the roof lately. Sad that you aren't keeping her, but I guess it's better for the channel to keep "premium" brand cars that repeatedly break down on you.
When I was a kid in the late 90s and early 2000s, I always said that I wanted an '89 300ZX Turbo! A dream car that seemed attainable. Of course, my Dad said no and I got a Toyota Corolla. I was excited to see this pop up, but I was disappointed to see that you're not going to fix it.
New cars are boring, hoopties are fun. Reliable hoopties are on a whole other level. It’s that simple, but most people don’t seem to get it.

Nostalgia hitting me hard on this one, especially the voice. This was my first car when I was 16 right down to the color combo, but I had the digital dash and the 16" corvette style wheels. suffice to say that I totaled it 5 months after getting it (canadian winters suck!). loved it so much that I got it again as my 2nd car, but 2+2 and auto. sad to hear that I won't get to see more of it on your channel.

Not bringing this fun old 300ZX back to life marks the death of the old Hoovie channel. There is no way old Hoovie wouldn’t have found a way to get it back on the road. Now we get more and more boring videos on ridiculously costly, designed to fail exotics. Seeing the rebirth of this oddball classic 300ZX would have been huge fun. Hoovie’ s new videos are becoming easier to skip with every passing week.
i had an 84 turbo 5 speed, most reliable car i've ever owned. i loved that car! i paid $800 for it from the original owner. pretty much the same deal, dropped the tank and reconnected the fuel pump, fired right up. sat from 1996 to 2015. body was immaculate, same with paint and interior. my turbo wasn't locked up though, 209k miles as well

That is the best possible color combo for that generation of Z. My uncle used to sell Porsche and I would take a 944 turbo over a 300 Z all day long. But I would still love to own that color combo Z. Only way it could possibly be better is if it had black or grey interior.. Wish I could afford to buy it from you..
I would really like to see this car get fixed. It is absolutely worth saving. I hope that even if you dont end up fixing it that it gets sold to someone who will put the time and effort into it to doing quality repairs like the Wizard does.
