I’ve owned this car for a year and In that time have learned a lot about it. However your videos are becoming mandatory for me. You explain everything in a way that even I can understand. Thank you for taking time to make videos like this one and the one on the symposer delete. There are a lot of videos about it but none explain it quite like you. Great work!

Super dope video. Defanitely a 1 of a kind. Never seen someone go into as much detail as you have. BUT I'm just going with the ford performance route. I'll end up getting around 90ft lbs of torque added once it's all said and done and I won't have to worry about a damn thing and its covered under my warrenty (2018 with 20k miles) Should be enough to take any stock wrx and that's pretty much my goal lol.

@@simpleman8883 while I still had the car I ran asmoil signature series and changed spark plugs every 5k miles. It’s expensive but never once had any issues with the car. And the additives in the asmoil signiture series help prevent lipsi which is one of the two main fails for the motors (again lipsi is from drivier error/lack of knowledge)

I liked JST tune as it was very aggressive which made it fun to drive but it created a lot of wear on my clutch as I drove the car hard. I switched at Edge auto sport with Alan as I felt he had more knowledge of this platform

hey man im planning on getting an etune from edge autosport soon as i have an accessport on the way. when you first said you had map slots on the car how does that work because i could not manage to get mine to switch. did you mean the access port allowed that to work or the car naturally has them?

Got rousch exhaust, mountune intercooler, Cobb accessport v3, cold start spark plugs, cobb intake and rear motor mount got it all installed today. The only thing that was a real problem was the intercooler. Mountune brackets don't line up with the radiator cradle . Total pain in the ass almost had to throw out the horn. Once I have stage 1 done can I go ahead and install stage two?
Question for you. I'm in the process of doing this for the first time, do you have to pay for each tune he sends you. So for example when u send him your data log then he sends u back your tune but some adjustments need to be made, does he charge your again for that?

My question is if I decide to do an e-tune . . . . . would you recommend I run e85 SOME of the time??? as Is this car is My DAILY Driver? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Merry Christmas!!
It's really more about what's practical for you. If you don't have a good tuner or someone who really knows your platform in your area, an etune is a good idea. If you do, a dyno is quick, accurate, repeatable, and safe. But even if you have a competent local tuner, they might not be experienced in a certain platform. We are among the top Focus ST tuners in the country, so even if you prefer dyno tuning, renting a dyno and scheduling a remote dyno tune is still a great idea. It will cost the most though since you're renting a dyno and paying for etune.
Sean Zhang I have Ford performance, I love it... it’s 2.5 in” with resonator and a muffler. It has almost 0drone but is loud when you step on it. The Cobb has a little bit more drone. Also the vodka exhaust sounds very similar to the ford performance bc they are the same it’s just ford tuned their from borla(borla exhaust is a bit louder than ford performance it just sounds a tiny bit ricey)
I have flowmaster 3" only a res turbo can be heard pretty good and its pretty dam loud idle is kinda quiet though and big uphill it has drone but it doesnt bother me going catless next week 👍
Sense you had an sti what would you do if you were me. I have a 2017 wrx that has 410hp and was about put an iag stage 3 block in. But the dealer I bought the car from gave me the option to trade in for a 2019/2020 sti would you suggest to keep building the fa20 or switch to a stock brand new sti and start over... I have 2 weeks to go stock and trade it in and idk what to do haha

There are definitely drawbacks to etuning, especially for a street car. But both dyno tuning and etuning have their place and value. Pretty much all race cars and heavily modified cars are tuned both ways at some point for that reason.

It would be cool to trade in for the 2020 sti, but with the new generation coming next year, I would probably hold out, and wait for that.
