Sony’s Next Showcase: 9 Things We Think We’ll See (And 9 We Don’t) - Beyond 849

- It’s the time of year when Sony usually holds its big Summer Showcase presentation, giving us a look ahead at what’s coming to PlayStation in the coming months. As of this recording, there’s no official word on if or when such a showcase will be happening, but we figured it’s worth running down what we definitely expect to see and what we don’t think will make an appearance. Assuming they’re still slated for 2024 releases, we’re due for a closer look at the Snake Eater remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta, and a release date for Bloober Team’s Silent HIll 2 remake. On the first-party front, an actual reveal of the PVP multiplayer first-person shooter Concord would be nice, and maybe a release window for Death Stranding 2. Will PSVR 2 get any kind of love at all? We’re skeptical. As much as we’d love to see more of Grand Theft Auto 6 or Insomniac’s Wolverine game, or get word of a Bloodborne remaster, those seem extremely unlikely, but hey… we’ve been wrong before. This week’s Beyond cast is Max Scoville, Jada Griffin and Brian Altano.

Hey all! Sorry we accidentally called it a “State of Play” once in the headline/thumbnail and a “Showcase” forty times in the actual episode. The former has been fixed but the latter will live on forever. Neither have been formerly announced by Sony as of this writing. Thanks for watching (you did watch the episode, right? RIGHT?) and here's hoping Sony announces SOMETHING soon!

State of play is where we got 1st look at RE4 remake and Sf6...actually since the last showcase was GAAS fest meh show ..A State of play is a very fitting name right now also since we don't have 1st party games til march 2025
Sony have delisted MGSDelta from the PS Store anticipated games for 2024 .. looks like it may be delayed

Sony will anounce the PSVR2 PCVR update or parthenship with steam VR ... and bonus Gran turismo 6 PC port with release date... Those are my wishes ;)

Why are they saying its a State of Play, when nothing has been announced yet, and sources say its a proper showcase? Unless they have some insider info and are letting the cat out of the bag, this is just another example of IGN being cynical and negative, which is tiresome by this point.
IGN is basically Sony media. So they are setting the expectation in behalf of their bosses.
The same reason Nintendo fans were upset at the rumor delay even tho nothing was proven and Nintendo said nothing.

Man the ps5 era has been disappointing. All we got to look forward to is remakes? This is crazy. It’s a shame when you talk about the ps5 you talk about ps4 games mainly
The problem right now is that Sony is making hype stories about 77k first day games sold on PC where day one console sales of the same game were like 1M copies.
The problem of eroding console sales is bigger than actual PC sales. Sony should let go of the PC port business and refocus those resources on PSVR2 which generate the same sales or more and there’s no danger of eroding console sales.

I didn’t ask for a 27 film interconnected multimedia universe spanning an over a decade, dude. I just want a horror movie with monsters in it. They made a Gran Turismo movie and they’re making TV shows based on Horizon and God of War. Give me a tight 90 minute Bloodborne horror movie.
