My Favourite Lens Combo for Nikon Z 5O 📷 (POV)

- In today's POV video I trade in the streets for the beach! Headed down to White Rock with my buddy @Chris_Palmer (and the Nikon Z 50) to get some awesome sunset shots. Let's just say not everything went according to plan 😅. I used my Nikkor Z 35mm 1.8 S and the Nikkor Z DX 50-250 to capture some pretty cool shots of the beach and the pier. Nice POV as alway! I highly consider getting the 35mm lens. Can you recommend it for getting a cool Bookeh Effect?
Thank you Andre! The 35mm give very cool bokeh at f/1.8. I think the 3 shots of my friends camera with the lights behind him at the end of this video are a decent example.

Lmao 8:03 “take a picturrrrr” it’s funny when ur in manual / semi-manual mode just enjoying the day and then in a split second u get asked to take a live action shot it’s hard to get everything dialled in so you don’t miss the moment, great shots overall tho, as always and I think from now on Canada Day should be called Canada & India Day - might as well get a head start considering the disparity in birth rates

hi! finally have my z30 whit kit lens 16-50. I think buy other lens, I'm between the 35 1.8s lens or the dx 55-205 or I don't know how the 40 f2 will work. What do you think of those lenses after the 16-50 kit.
I was looking for something brighter.
I also liked the DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G with the adapter.
I ask you, the opening is also multiplied in the DX?

Hey Fernando, that’s awesome! The Z 35 1.8 will give you much brighter shots than the kit lens (and the 50-250). You can go the DX route with the adapter to save a little bit of money.
Both the FX and DX lenses will be cropped on the Z30 so they will be a 52mm field of view.

Do you think the lack of evf matters in z30 ? i am confused between z30 and z50 ? z50 has an evf but you were not ussing that much? and do z30 has same level of weather sealing of z50?
Depends on what you’re used to. I use the EVF a lot more when I’m not making these videos. It’s more interesting to keep the camera in sight that’s why I use the LCD for the POVs. EVF is very useful on bright days when it can be harder to see the screen. Z50 and Z30 are very similar as far as what’s inside (processor etc.). I believe they both have the same weather sealing. Z50 has EVF but Z30 has a swivel screen which is nice too. All comes down to personal preference. Let me know if you have any other questions!
@@RolandKaufmann thanks for the reply.....here in India z30 costs around 650$ and Z50 costs around 800$...so you are telling that 150$ is worth the viewfinder . And how is the af performance of z50? I mean after recent updates vs initial days. My puspose is street photography and potrait shooting for now.
@@abhijitbairagya8105 oh good to know, I didn’t realize there was a price difference. Z50 also has a built in flash right by the EVF. Forgot to mention that.
AF is good enough for me 90% of the time. Eye tracking is very good for portrait photography. Check out my instagram (@roland_kaufmann_) to see what I shoot with my Z50.

I had thought about this z35mm lens for my beloved nikon z50 but was deterred by the fact that it was not stabilized. I don't know if it's just that you have a very good pulse or it's not really a problem.
It’s not a huge issue as long as you have decently steady hands haha. Shooting shutter speeds around 1/100th and up also helps! I just picked up the 85 1.8 and it’s a little tricky to keep steady, but still very doable. Got a video about that one coming soon.

Hello! I’m new to the channel, great find I must say. I have the z50 with the two kit lenses and later added the 40mm f2 which I use most often. Are these good lenses? Thanks so much! I subscribed here and on IG also.
Thanks so much! I think the DX 16-50mm (kit lens) and the DX 50-250mm are great lenses for the Z50. I still use them quite often! I also have the 35mm and 85mm 1.8 S lenses. Use them when the light is low or I need faster shutter speeds. Haven’t used the 40 f2 but have heard it’s a solid lens. I have a video coming in a couple days shot with the 85 1.8 :).
