Heads up, depending on where you are in Georgetown and Foggy Bottom, it can have a LOT of college students. Both George Washington University and Georgetown University are in the area. If that bothers you, make sure you chose an area away from student housing or even off campus housing. I used to work in Foggy Bottom and every Thursday and Friday on my walk to the metro after work you could sense the buzz of college students, smell the weed, etc. The area is great and you can be away from students IF you do your research.

I received an offer to work at the Albi restaurant, which is located in Navy.(I saw some comments saying to be careful around the region)
Which nearby region would you recommend? (remembering that I'm leaving work very late)
I go alone, so any little room alone is fine for me.
It doesn't have to be a region with lots of things to do.
I won't even have time to enjoy the city.

    • @ThisBahamianGyal

Honestly, I can't remember which site I found my condo on. I remember contacting the owner and he told me that he didn't even advertise on the site I saw it listed on. We both laughed. He noted that some sites share listings without the poster's permission. I searched Zillow, For Rent, Apartments, did Google searches for "apartments near me" I was looking all over. If I'm being real, I think God secured this place for me because I was DONE searching and was just about to settle. Then this place appeared like an angel. No lie. lol.

Make a goal to buy a bedroom bathroom suite on bus stops, with housemates, such as family or friends. The cheapest renovated is 300k by yourself in a lower wealth neighborhood.
150k with housemates per bed bath in a lower wealth neighborhood.
400k renovated bedroom bathroom suite on bus stops with housemates in a higher wealth neighborhood.
The average salary at the largest employer is 130k.
Working a couple jobs for a couple years and only buying 3k yearly of groceries, you should have no mortgage within 4 years of focused and dedicated to financial freedom.
No place else globally offers this type of mobility for black people.
