Thumbs down. Actually reznor was very satisfied with this song. He is on record saying he put more time and effort into this song than any other song on the album. He was extremely disappointed it was not received well. Do any of you dipshits that comment on these videos know anything about NIN? It’s very easy to research
Totally agree with you. Also here's some trivia while he worked on this album he was in his only film role. It was a movie with Michael j Fox & Joan Jett called Light of Day, his role was member of the synth band in a music competition. The movie wasn't good but when you look for a clip you'll see him at the keyboard.

This was the first CD I got when I was 11 or so, along with my first CD player. I went on to love NIN. Listening to this after a break, years ahead and this album was WAY ahead of it's time. This album is bumping my walls off in my house and sounds so much better, as far as the synth then songs today.
Down in it is Skinny Puppy's "Dig It" totally ripped off but I love both groups and my first show was the outside tour in Toronto. Amazing. Prick opened and the bass nearly made my heartbeat erratic it was sooud. Amazing 👏
You've got great taste in music and an interesting name. Where are you from? Do most women in your area dig old school Nine Inch Nails? If they do sign me up!
He hates this song lol. He thinks it’s the worst song he’s ever done and he said he’ll never play it live for as long as he lives, which is such a shame bc I love it so much.
Artists are often the worst judge of their own work. You should hear John Lennon crapping on nearly every Beatle's song, saying he would re-record every one of his vocals.
Alright, I can see why Trent hates this song. By all means, it should be one of the worst songs to ever exist. The mix is awkward, the bridge is literally Down In It, the lyrics sound like he's making shit up for the hell of it. And yet, it's so freaking good. It's just so raw and psychotic. Probably the point where the Broken/TDS Nine Inch Nails begin to *really* shine through. My favourite song on PHM next to Something I Can Never Have and Sanctified.
@@balladofcoseypolar4711 agreed, I don't like trump or think he's a competent leader at all but the way some people talk about him iss honestly annoying
Trent Reznor's roommate: Hey, Trent, you want to get some lunch at McDonald's with us?
Trent:
💀
honestly i'm surprised reznor wasn't satisfied with this one, easily one of the best on the entire album imo
I totally agree with you. This is such a great song.

Word to the wordy word word!

Tenor was actually upset with YET records about the sound editing and production of this album. I'm glad it wasn't altered. Classic
@@KingLich451 The answer is he got Adrian Sherwood and John Fryer in the studio with him! That's how.
More modern than modern songs.
Yeah, lots of 70's and 80's industrial aged really well.

Heard NIN on MTV's 120 minutes in 1988 or 1989 and said, "This is gonna be huge."
cool story
Saw Head Like a Hole and Wish and knew it would be huge, amazing records the first few...
it wasnt 1988
I was 23 in 89 when it was released
And it was.
Don't forget to vote nine inch nails for the hall of Fame
i love when the synth riff goes crazy, it's unexpectedly complex
2:14-2:50 Down In It 😄. Recently "Kinda I Want You" is one of my favourite songs from PHM album ❤️ and unfortunately very underrated ☹️.
Ha! never noticed that before and it was sitting right in front of me!
One of the most creative bands ever.

No one does psycho-drama like NIN ;)
Your amazing
@Desirable Musical Sounds Totally agree! The album changed my life the first time I heard it back in 1990. I had never heard anything like it before
A lot of songs out there are older than you and much better than you. Dont be so self centered. The world doesn't revolve around you.
