This was an excellent video, I just did the job today. THANK YOU! I wish it had included some tips about putting the belt back on, it was a challenge! But I finally got it done. I did the smooth right side (water pump pully) last while holding down the tension with the 19mm. It was on but a little off the mark on the bottom pulleys. So I then had my neighbor hold that tension release while I went underneath and made a final seating adjustment. Do not forget to do the 'Toyota Idle Reset' steps after the job to smooth out the idle. Good luck! You can do it!
Thank you for showing the tensioner! Also if your tensioner is seized it helped to get a cheater bar and bounce it up and down to help un seize the tensioner.
Thank you!! I used this video to put a new altenator on my car!! I am so glad I found you. They way you say vehicle is really different never heard it said like that. Sounds like your saying Vericool. Not making fun of you at all please dont think that. Makes me wonder if I am saying it wrong. But anyway Thank you. You saved me alot of money. I am a woman so I hate going to repair shops. I try to do everything myself.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I now have a new alternator my brother and I put in thanks to your video. It saved me a lot of $$ on labor at a mechanic.
Need help, after i put my new alternator in my carolla and putting hooking everything back together and turning the car on to idle the battery light is on but very dim
Awesome video, used it as a guide to swap out my alternator but I'm having the issues I was having before (dimming headlights/dashlights and rough idle). My plug looks just like the one you mentioned that needed to be serviced. Could that be the cause of my issues?
how to push that area at the bottom. U said "make sure push that area as far as u can go". When I installed my alternator that area is so tight, but I don't know how to push it
I can't loosen the belt. I tried using that 19 millimeter socket but it keeps slipping and rounded off the tension thingy. I can't figure out how to loosen the belt.
not the best video. you should test before and after. You should also clean the connector. And most importantly you should show how to retighten the tensioner so that people dont over or undertighten it

Fantastic video. The way you made sure all of the parts you were working on were in focus is the big difference between your video and many others.

@@keyonchildress8815 Try using 19 mill. 6 point socket
Use a 6 point socket not a 12 point one
Awesome.
Pro🎉
Thanks
my mechanic over charged me for this...smh.
How much he charged
They always do. You can get an alternator for $120-200 and do the laabor yourself
