Thanks for watching!!
If not for the drugs and injuries, this dude could have went down as one of the greatest ever… seriously
As a lifelong rangers fan. He was my favorite player and still is.
For about 2.5 years he was the best player in baseball and his dominance reminded me of Mattingly at his peak in the 80s.
I met Josh in my home town, a small town in central Texas. He has a ranch outside of town. I met him in the grocery store, i chatted with him about 45 minutes. I've kept up with him since he was on cover of sports illustrated as a 18 yr old, #1 pick. He was the absolutely nicest most humble super star you could ever meet. I told him i couldn't believe he was in our little home town. He said he was no different from me, he just happened to play professional baseball. I have nothing but good things to say about Josh. I do have a photo with him. I asked him if he minded if I took his photo. He said why don't we both take a photo and we got a lady to take our photo
When i first saw Josh in the grocery store i asked him if anyone has ever told him that he looked exactly like Josh Hamilton. He laughed and told me sometimes they tell me i do. When I saw his tatoos i knew it was him.
I loved Hamilton. He had a beautiful swing
Yes!!!
Hamilton goes into detail in his book that the feeling of belonging and connection he had with the tattoo crowd was something that was dramatically missing from the rest of his life at that time.
That connection led to him being more receptive of trying drugs with them when asked. It became a part of belonging and maintaining that connection.
He had a great career considering everything he went through. He still won a mvp
First, on this depressing story. It's like watching a plane crash knowing exactly how it's going to go out. I just wish he could have kept clean with all that money he could of gotten the best rehab staff/guy to follow him around to stop him.
How is his life not in a documentary or movie
I’m glad Hamilton has the 2008 Derby to look back on. It was such an incredible performance, in the house that Ruth built ❤️
I remember watching his 4 homer game live!
Same. That was awesome.
💔🥹
Keep going brother! Despite his addictions, Hamilton was a great player. 08 Derby was epic.
Always loved Hamilton I hope he’s doing well these days
He was arrested and plead guilty to child abuse charges within the last couple years so I'd say he's not doing well unfortunately. Sad.
@@faretheewell3711not true. saw him at his daughters softball tournament
@@mcaunn absolutely true. Glad you are trying to defend a scumbag though!
You know there is another player that had a rise and fall, Jason Bay.
Your videos are getting better! Loved the variety in the background music not just one song looped, your info was great and I really enjoyed it!
Thank you so much, really means a lot.. more on the way!!
As a rangers fan, Hamilton was always something of an enigma. I still think about the 2 WS seasons and how close they were. And of course the 4HR game. For a few seasons, it was magical in the DFW area. Now, it’s back to suck as usual.

@@ROFLBOB24 I'll remove mine.
We were all rooting for him to overcome his demons. 😔 Still are. 🙏🏼
This vid will prolly be too hard for me to get through but thumbs up regardless
I was 8-12 when Hamilton was on the Rangers and watching that team is the thing I remember most about my dad
Love the video, you’re improving while still being you!
Greatly appreciated.. more to come!
I was in rehab for booze in socal orange county and they to us to an angels game. Against the Rangerz while Josh was a inspiration to me. Playeda greatgame threw a ricket from washing track to beat the steal at home... That was all i need to see.... Also surprising that nobody knew his story fromrehab..
I'm surprised you didn't mention the incident with the fan dying. Fantastic video nonetheless. Gonna go on a binge here w your channel🤣
He always had some bad luck when interacting with fans. Besides the guy that died, I remember he used to have this terrible habit of letting the bat fly out of his hands and into the stands during his swings. He’s very lucky no one was seriously hurt.

His swing was total destruction.
It was a classic, a beauty to watch!
Great video. But how did you skip over the throw to a Dad in the stands, who died. I feel like that was a major trigger point of a downfall. (It would be for me). Josh if you see this you always seemed like a good dude. And I wasn't trying to open any wounds, that wasn't your fault.. We all love ya!!
THAT WASN'T YOUR FAULT JOSH!!
Much luv
My name is Josh Hamilton and there a million things I haven’t done but just you wait
At that point in Hamilton’s life, he could be in any situation anywhere and if someone mentioned they like to party, he probably would’ve been best friends with them
I remember reading a book about him in high school. It was the only time a book actually had me gripped. It made me realize how much reading was ruined for me from school
00:38….Not gonna lie, I was like “what does Eminem have with Josh Hamilton”
Haha
Great video, love these videos without a British accent
Hamilton estaba a la altura d cabrera y pujols sin dudas pero no se pudo autocontrolar...
Im absolutely fascinated by this guy
I've seen the videos, read the articles and his book and im still dumbfounded by how it went so bad
Yeah he has a car accident and a painful back injury but he hated opiates supposedly. I could see getting hooked on OC but the speed habit coming from it off nowhere baffled me.
There IS a story there that he's either concealing or has just blocked out.
You don't go from Superman to Dude hanging in a tattoo parlor and smoking meth daily
As @randalripley8381said:

That is where the drugs came from.
Hamilton hitting bombs all coked out at that derby was crazy. Josh definitely inspired me and showed me its ok to have a absolutely wild life style and still play sports. He was my hero I was in high school playing ball when he hit the 29 Homer's and everytime Mt coaches would get on me or make me run for drugs and drinking I always said look at josh.
Get a life troll
I'll tell you the problem for Hamilton right now and this is easy, getting 120 million dollars and then moving to Los Angeles, at 32 years old. That's not a really good mix right there specially if you had drug issues in the past. Getting over a hundred million dollars and then living in the most Lively City on the West Coast, it's not a good mix if you're a young man that was battling drug addiction in the past years
You think tattoos were the beginning of his downfall? Wtf are you talking about lol
Could have been a hof player. But not to be.
At 47 seconds in, my home video was swiped of Josh hitting a minor league homerun. Permission was not requested...
bastards, you should be paid at least 7 bucks...
The ugliest tattoos in MLB history
