Hi Ewa, I'm glad that you came back❤️. I saw all your videos and they helped me a lot. I was listening the one about New Age many times. Culture and societies all around the world are literally feeding narcissism and toxic positivity. Many people are hypnotized by social media, not to mention children. I don't want to be pessimistic but things are going in wrong direction. That's why I'm so glad that you talk about it❤️

Very good description of the catch 22!!
I think alot of people get disappointed that slowing down creates losses that are difficult to accept

I do feel social media can be both inspiring and unrealistic. It is all so surface so you really don't know whether it is authentic or not. I agree we need that interconnection but real communication isn't there. You only see what they want you to see. It does have that competitive edge to it that makes it even more unrealistic. Life is not always a game you play.
Anyway...I'm rambling.. Thank you for this video..I enjoy these type of authentic conversations. This is where you truly learn about yourself and others. God bless you always!! 💕

It’s true! Social media can easily feed delusion. It’s good to be aware how it works.

Slight twist in my response, but given that we are now in an internet age of instant connectivity with all cultures around the globe the best thing has been to hear different perspectives and the worst thing is to hear how overwhelmingly the weaknesses of our cultures are the same everywhere. It's like that saying of the geographical cure, that you can't outrun yourself because your problems will follow you. Well, when you listen to YT videos of people describing narcissism in their local place, you see that you can't outrun narcissism anywhere in the world. Human nature is human nature. Our default wirings happen to be more similar than dissimilar.

We're drowning in noise. I think that figuring our how to spot disinformation and likewise disingenuous people is empowering. Yes, narcissism and lies proliferate but it is possible to protect yourself. In a way, it's a prerequisite to living a relatively peaceful existence nowadays.

I think society or maybe it is only social media says that only a certain kind or level of relationship counts for anything. That can have people seeking relationship status before they think about forming a meaningful connection. It is added pressure that way and maybe means that people are not being so present with each other.

I guess I have always felt like I don't seem to fit in with a lot of people. I've had friends, friends that I would want to be closer to intellectually and generating ideas to manifest into reality, but have never seemed to quite find the friends that aligned with my values (though my values were amorphous, short-sighted and romanticized more than a decade ago, I never liked the chauvinism and racism that seemed to come up from others and never diminished as I hoped it would).
That was a time before I was on the internet so much and I thought about finding the kind of friends I wanted. Driving around in the middle of nowhere, I would fantasize that there would be some unique soul living in a dilapidated mobile home back in a woods or overgrown field that I would finally cross paths with, and we would synergize.
I guess I'm still looking for that, but on the internet. The internet seems like it would give me the ability to look around "in the middle of nowhere" kind of places around the world, but there is a lot of sick minds out there. Algorithms are kind of detrimental for this as well, since they seem to create a bubble with the interest to those trying to sell something more than helping explore. I guess I still have romantic notions of relationships, but after taking a lot of psychology courses in college, I've decided that those that I want to befriend definitely have to be Feminists and want to contribute to the world as such. Also, after fighting and resisting the tactics of narcissism since attending college, I've started taking on a mystical approach for self-efficacy and want those kind of friends that I have that in common with, as a way to contribute to a better world. I know that it is an irrational path, and that is repulsive to some, but it has been very good for me.
I remember listening to a new radio station on the way to work a long time ago. The dj introduced a new song and suggested that it is the kind of song that you listen to with your 'quiet kind of friends.' So that resonated with me, and still does. But I want friends/lover that have a fighting spirit as well, and can speak up against the unethical. So, I don't know. I'm being unrealistic, I guess. What I've said is simplistic, but it's the best I can explain it. I expect there to be more facets to a person, and I maybe put too much hope in the internet to "cross paths" with such people, but I think I have. They just don't seem to be that interested in me. lol They are probably the kind of people that are happier getting along by themselves. I used to be like that.
Sorry if this is too ramble-y.
