I’ve been a musician for over 40 years now. THIS! This blew me away. Not only did you cover this great trac, but YOU DID THE KILLER ALBUM VERSION! I was so moved by this performance kids, I got teary eyed. You give this guy some hope for your generation. WELL DONE!
I just wanted to say I think you should change your alias to "legaltimmigrant" or maybe even "illegaltimmigrant"...whichever applies, however I don't support illegal immigration.
I hope these kids are watching this these years later and seeing how much joy their music brings to complete strangers. I was lucky enough to play in a high school music program that was world class, and it brings a satisfaction that is impossible to describe to people who have never been a part of making MUSIC!
play music you will find your groove eventually. i rember the first time i played with other people we sucked but but we found it a few times even with just 3 chords lol
Yeah. Covering this song was an ambitious prospect for a group of kids. The vocalist wasn't Freddy, but he poured himself into it, and that's what you gotta do. Props for that.
Timeless classic (#24 on 1/13/1979) The guitar and bass here are outright killers. I was fortunate enough to see Queen in 1980 and they did this song and the crowd got more wilder. Freddie was one heck of a performer. A fun evening. These kids are amazing and covered this nicely.
As a massive Queen fan I really liked the lead singers effort here. Don’t forget too that three of the guys in Queen were fantastic singers - that’s how they sound so amazing.
People are hating on Braceface, but I thought he had engaging vocal style and a lot of potential. And he's like 16; can't blame him for not having a coffee and cigarettes voice yet.
@@Jukkala I respectfully disagree. NO ONE is perfect, and so far the vast majority of comments give him credit for a great job. Like I said in my full comment on here, he started off a bit tentative, and he really needed to add more force and "grit" to the breaks ("Hey", "Come, on" etc. ) to make it what I would call a PERFECT cover. BUT definitely a solid effort especially since he was only 14 when this was recorded. BTW, I worked live sound with some very high profile artists as a stage monitor engineer, and can assure you that despite my lack of vocal or instrumental talents, I do know a fair bit about what is good solid performance and what is not. ;)
I’ve Just Had The Thoughts of a Few Already……These young men and women keep this up……..Rock Will Live Forever! Keep Up The Great Work Ya’ll…..KEEP IT LOUD!
This comment section is hilarious. All these blowhards comparing a kid to Freddie Mercury. Wow....you mean to tell me a high school kid didn't sing the song as well as one of the greatest rock and roll singers of all time?? No shit Sherlock!!! This kid did a great job.
Imo it's not that the kid doesn't have talent as a singer it's just his voice doesn't have the right gritt for rock his vocals are more suited to a more poppy sound again he's still talented just singing a genre he isn't suited for imo
I’m A Massive Queen Fan They’re My All Time Favourite Rock Band & Freddie Mercury Brian May Roger Taylor John Deacon Are My Favourite Musicians Of All Time Well Done Guys That Was Outstanding
LMAO, comparing a HS kid to the GOAT Freddie Mercury? They did great and having been a Queen fan for almost 45 yrs, I am glad they think enough of the music to try it. Kid on drums ain't Roger, either, but all in all I am happy to have listened to this. We all appreciate Queen a little more after we try and play their music. I know this for fact :)
I get a feelin this bro rocks out to this song every fucking day before he goes to school. There were a few "oddballs" I rocked out to that I wouldn't want my parents to hear me whalin away too Don't Stop Believing comes to mind :)
Good god thede kids are talented.a piece like this, that evokes a mood and a place , can be harder than an all out rocker. The lead singer was incredible. Watching kids enjoying playing music like this is a treat.
I thought the lead did a sensational job, he really caused me to listen to the entire video. Afterwards I was glad that I did, I have to give this a thumbs up
A very well done take on this classic song...tight instruments and great backing vocals. As for Hayden, the lead, at age 14 absolutely awesome. The only thing about his lead performance was that it started off a bit tentative, and he really needed to add more force and "grit" to the breaks ("Hey", "Come, on" etc. ) to make it what I would call a PERFECT cover. That said, he really did a great job with a unique style and obvious passion, and also a great "stage presence." I do hope that ALL of these young folks are still singing and playing to this day.
thank you school of rock for passing music with feeling on to our younger rockers.thanks to thee freddie, always and forever in our hearts.R.I.P. sept 1946 to nov. 1991
180 thumbs down??? Some people need to grow up. These are brilliant.. Bravo.. Critics,, probably never picked up an instrument in there lives. And no I don't think a Mandolin can be considered an instrument,, maybe for critics for cutting there Food
It's so hard to do a Queen song because of Freddie Mercury. It's really not fair to compare because he was uncomparable while alive. His voice was iconic and his range was legendary but its the power of his voice that lasts.
I'm a huge Queen fan and this is one of my all time favourite songs of theirs. This is obviously not as good as the original but it's a superb effort nonetheless. These are hand picked teenagers who are all excellent musicians and singers in their own right. Give them credit where it's due and just enjoy the songs. I've been watching a lot of these SoR videos and think they are great. Anything that promotes the future of rock music to the younger generation is welcomed by me.
idk but heres what I see. talented kids absolutely .but what really makes it special is both. a great teacher or musical director who brings out the composition with disciplined accuracy yet without squaring everything off. just enough feeling without getting sloppy. thats the trick.
The Kids are Alright! That was pretty fuggin' good! Say what you want about the youngster singing lead. He put his guts and spine into it. No, he ain't no Freddie Mercury--yet. Lots and lots of potential there, though. The guitars kicked ass (nice rumbly bass) and the chorus was flat-out awesome. Had me grinnin' and groovin', they did. Fun song and they all just went for it. Bravo, boys and girls!
Freddy Mercury, with his huge range and unique style, is a hard act to follow, but this' a darn good shot at it. Snaps to Hayden for pulling it off while wearing full braces. Good on ya!
Well done! So well done! Although there's something a bit weird about youngsters singing very, VERY, adult lyrics. All the same...musicianship NAILED! Grand job. Be proud.
I kinda wonder why some of the solo guitar parts were hard-panned right rather than balanced across the mix. But beyond that, they put on a great performance, and the lead singer has future stardom written all over him.
Fun , great cover - comparing anything to an original is a mute point. The kid was 14 years old, my voice didn’t change till I was 15, he held his own.
todos los chicos son muy buenos vengo viendo todos sus videos, seria genial que hagan algo de Soda Stereo nuestra gran banda Argentina, saludos y exitos.

With kids like this, Rock-N-Roll will never die.
Keep up the good work.
El rock no ha muerto!! Larga vida al rock!!!
Tell that to the record companies who are clueless. Kids wanna rock!

Flag the critics kids, you all knocked it out the park. Well done. Rock n roll lives on
Hear hear Gordon!!
Yes that did. The chorus as background vocals wete great.
Really good job on the vocals, respect. To those critics out there, don't compare a kid to Freddy Mercury. That a a tad unfair.
quite true. he has a unique voice all his own... just like Freddy did. he'll grow in his own way.
Freddie **
Jeremy Andrews the heys were underwhelming
@@TheNutshaq so are your complaints
Yeah. Covering this song was an ambitious prospect for a group of kids. The vocalist wasn't Freddy, but he poured himself into it, and that's what you gotta do. Props for that.
this singer kills, the backup vocals are angels!!, Crunchy guitar rocks. Oh my

Actually it says he's 14...anybody here sing that well when they were 14?!! Thought not, so SHUT UP!!!
That kid's got a good future ahead of him if he sings like this at 14... Kudos!
Anyone who would criticize this performance I can guarantee does not know jack shit about music and cannot play anything.

Great performance, especially the vocalist and especially given his age!!!!
The lead singers smile at the end says it all. ✌️🤘👍. Well done!!!!
Life thrives on encouragement, not discouragement. Well done and a great version - be proud.

all you people that have negative comments you get up there and try and do as good as these young people they are fantastic
I, recently, found this channel and enjoy it all the time. My daughter went to SOR NYC many years ago. What a great place. So much talent!
Wooot.... now I am listening to more School Of Rock vids. Add this edit.... At the very end the singer gives a big grin... he knows they ACED IT!!
This comment section is hilarious. All these blowhards comparing a kid to Freddie Mercury. Wow....you mean to tell me a high school kid didn't sing the song as well as one of the greatest rock and roll singers of all time?? No shit Sherlock!!! This kid did a great job.
EXACTLY
Your right, people cover others music everyday and nobody sounds the same.
So why are we not tk criticise the skngjnh style? A cover can be great or a no no. This one is definitely a no. There's no fire in it. Rant over.
Not sure about greatest rock n roll singer ever but there’s no denying the kids good

A truly golden piece of music...to be performed only by qualified musicians that possess the talent. These guys possess that talent.

Great performance! I love the "choir"! Getting enough singers who can do harmonies well can be one of the hardest parts in covering Queen songs!
Sort of like trying to herd cats.

Good lord these kids were on fire with this song! Awesome job everybody.
Loved it. Fun song for young musicians to cut their chops on. The guitaring leading into the clap was a highlight!
Queen would be proud.

EXCELLENT!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORKS N' ARTS!
Hey easy on the kid... he throw his heart and soul into this.
Kid nailed it.
Thanks for keeping it alive and knocking it out of the park .
The drummer killed it. Great job.

Really enjoy watching talented young people for some reason. It gives me some kind of hope
Watching for 5th time and it still gives me chills. You guys nailed it!
Long-time Queen fan. Very impressed!

Great job! Another of my favorite songs.
Brilliant vocals and performance by all best wishes from Liverpool uk
Its nice to see kids rockin' the classics!
Just plain awesome, once again! This program seems to be producing a consistent group of great young musicians one-after-the-other! 👍🏻 👍🏻
Rockin'! What more can you say? I wonder if Brian's seen this one?
Even the Engineer is in awe.
Kid singer is great, he is very clear in his enunciation. I hate singers that slur or dont singing clear, good job by kid singer.
Omfg, lead singer is *amazing*! To sing even remotely like Freddie Mercury would be an amazing feat. And his singing was fucking brilliant
I'm a huge Queen fan and this is one of my all time favourite songs of theirs. This is obviously not as good as the original but it's a superb effort nonetheless.

0:45 that “hey” was so weak
The boy's vocals are kinda weak but the band and choir did well
I thought it was a cough.
must be the grills
Yeah? Well fuckin step up to the plate and let’s see what you got.

currently on a school of rock youtube loophole. these videos are so much fun to watch

props - try to sing with braces
Are you kidding me these kids nailed it awesome cover give then few more years hit big time
All of these studio recordings are absolutely fantastic. What can I follow to make sure that I’m listening to all of what’s been done?
Wow…great interpretation of one of my favorites. Thanks!
Have you seen The Commitments? More great music.
Well done! So well done! Although there's something a bit weird about youngsters singing very, VERY, adult lyrics. All the same...musicianship NAILED! Grand job. Be proud.
Why would youngsters not appreciate big butts?
hard to replicat brian mays guitar tone . very good job got so close. sounds great
Music is more than hitting the note. It is emotions too. Lead singer and a couple of background singers were fine. One guitar and bass too.
Kids rocked it! Awesome!
This is proof that rock isn't dead. Rock on guys.
I kinda wonder why some of the solo guitar parts were hard-panned right rather than balanced across the mix. But beyond that, they put on a great performance, and the lead singer has future stardom written all over him.
great job taking on an iconic song and vocals!!!
I've watched three of their videos, this makes me hopeful for the future.
Love queen!
I love school of Rock, they are awesome.
Nice job. I can't believe how good these kids are!!!
Great job guys, keep it up
It's impossible to sound like Freddie! On that note, the three covers I've hear are REALLY good!
Friends, plz stop calling these peeps kids! These peeps are musicians in their own right!
Fun , great cover - comparing anything to an original is a mute point. The kid was 14 years old, my voice didn’t change till I was 15, he held his own.
As a guy who had the release of this song in 1978, seeing a kid in braces sing it brings a smile to my face. Great job!!
Excellent, loved it.
Nice tight harmonies, you guys! Great job.
ayyy finally found one with a dude singing thats neat
wonder what he had to do to get that gig
Nailed it!! Thank you.
Fantástico. Parabéns a todos. Eu pagaria para assistir a uma apresentação dessas com certeza. O cantor foi um show à parte.
Cool
Очень хорошая работа!!! Шикарная школа!!!
give them a hand -they did a great job--!!!!

Love the braces, awesome performance
The kid can sing.
He protecc He atacc and most importantly he got the girls in the bacc
When I was 12 I bicycled behind a very large assed elder lady. I have been a bad boy since then. It was some 35 years ago.
We need this talent on the radio today! The stuff out there now is crap!
