Am a total amateur gold Panner I have
    Minelab pro pan kit
Works great come to own conclusion for the price it’s a nobrainer.
    Metal detector i use it’s just a
    Minelab x-terra 705
Possibly the cheapest branded detector around and the quality of the product for the price is simply unbeatable came with 2 coils to boot.
And 3rd thing is a sluice
So not knowing which one to buy cause there’s so many out there, I watched some videos for Australian conditions and the GoldRat mini river sluice seemed to be everyone’s choice . For a budget I get along ok nothing like this guy but it’s all just fun 👍👍

All of the gear you're using I either still use or have used. More often than not it's about the ground you're on, not the equipment.
Great selection and solid choices. Now you just need practice.

Man i had so many pms and emails today about this video, I had to take some time to watch, you should know mate since you had that water gate so has every unit we manufactured (early april last year) and you were 100% right when you run the hopper really steep trying to get the unit to self clear it really needed the water gate to redirect the material whihc was now pointing further down the sluice and onto the dream mat . I didn't design the hopper option for the cleanup sluice in the same way i design full blown highbankers as it was a retrofit there were some limitations but i think as a whole its probably our most popular product next to the 888 sluice. As far as the holes we added in two rows of holes with three options and three mounting points for both hopper and C clamp. So anyone who purchased one from us since april last year already has those options. The legs we have modified our standard highbanker legs and made them smaller to also fit this unit, in production right now probably a 40/60 split with 40% of people wanting the higher removable legs 60 loving the rigid legs that drop straight into a tub. We'll keep the universal legs in stock but will supply with the removable legs, we do listen to customers feedback and accommodate any user input where practical. as always Chris great video good honest content with open dialogue the aussie way

I inherited dads steel 18" pan he bought in the 60's. I burn it off when needed. It has enough use to keep fines where they should be and it can hold a lot of material. For speedy panning, I use cheap plastic blue pans 10" or so. I can burn through one in about a year and a half. I don't have a claim, but bought an old Keene high banker using moss and standard screens held in place with obtuse angle rods as riffles from my mums uncle back in '08. But since mining laws changed drastically the following 5 years I haven't been able to work it much. It was well used on his claims for a few decades and when I had used it, found it to be perfectly sufficient.
Thanks again for uploading behind the scenes and your thoughts and experiences from the field work you do for us!

I'm only 1 of 2 in the world with a lifetime warranty. Live both of those pans you use too...If the gold in my near vicinity weren't just specimens, few nuggets, but Paper Thin gold eroded from fractured fissures, that dream mat might just work, but I'll save it for the area I visit where I used to live. Chris. Thank you for the great video. I totally agree with you. I have used the gold claw and it does loses gold. I have to deal with the same type of gold. The problem with gold is it's everywhere. As you said. All these new mats help but they collect the same amount of gold. If you have more matting it will help with catching that super fine gold we deal with. It doesn't matter nif you have good hog or dream mat. There both great mats. It's more about how much matting you have . My great friend Jesse has been bin Blackhawk Colorado for 48 years and he was running 30 plus feet of regular sluice box and he still lost gold. For that super fine gold you need a dead zone as you know. If you don't behave a dead zone then you wash that super fine gold at. Thank you for the great video Chris.

What I use and I've tried them all ....
I've gotten away from using gas only because of the rules about motors and being able to use them in only certain places.
For a sluice I use a bazooka gold trap fluid sluice because I hate classifying and plan on getting a green mountain gold trap because of the removable box for cleaning.
Next when I can't sluice I use a Rotapan I got from Reeds Prospecting in Australia now called a mini gold concentrator, it works great with standing water it's portable and you can run a LOT of material through it and it's considered a pan for places you can only pan next I use a Garrett Super Sluice as well .....I'm in the process of trying the XP with snakeskin pan for final cleanups to replace my gold claw, for a detector I use a Fisher Gold Bug 2 and that's it........Cheers from Colorado Chris and heavy pans.

Another great video! I have a Garret Super Sluice, Garret Gold Trap, and a Garret Gravity Trap. I have a Garret 1/2 inch classifier that I don’t really use. I use a 1/4 inch homemade classifier I made out of a 5 gallon bucket and 1/4 inch hardware wire that I learned how to make from one of Dan Hurd’s videos. And it works great. I’m currently using a homemade 8” by 36” stream sluice with a homemade flair and it works descent enough for the small flood/flour gold that we find here in Ohio. I just placed an order for a Keene A52s stream sluice and should have that in a few weeks or so. Can’t wait to get it!!! I plan on later upgrading the Keene to a high banker or dredge. All that is the arsenal I currently have at my disposal. And I’m pretty green at mining and prospecting but I’ve been fairly successful so far. Learned a lot from RUclips and other resources as well. I’ve been exercising some of the things you speak of about trying and testing everything not just the normal stuff, inside bends, behind large objects, etc, etc. And stopping and observing your hole environment. Those techniques have helped me to find some really good spots that I just recently found. Thanks Chris. And heavy pans and Gold luck!

    Informative as always .
For a miller table try playing around with the bare 6” sluice with no mat in it , paint the stainless inside of it with chalkboard paint and run the reverse ruffle at the top to level out waterflow with a low volume water pump , you can use the mat clamp holes as a brush point to brush the gold to . ( drill a hole in and old vial lid and glue it underneath so you can screw on a vial to catch the brushed in gold. ) Just have to find chalkboard paint that isn’t black 🤪

In Arizona, we have to do a lot of dry washing and detecting. I agree with your choices for your area. I like the gold claw (regular size) for the ease of dry panning here in our desert. A big factor is getting comfortable with the equipment you are using. A rocker box if used properly will catch as much gold as you put through it. Keep up the great videos and info. Stay strong.

Interesting changes to the highbanker, I've made a few of my own. As much as I like the Super sluice pan, I hate the green. I see the gold much better in a blue pan. Increasing the size of the highbanker and running a petrol pump would spoil the quite and the sound of the wildlife for me. I did think of a larger highbanker, after using both I realised the small banker suited me.

Unless you get a miller table for free, I really wouldn't worry about getting one. I have a Royal Manufacturing table, and don't really care for it. It's really slow, and a huge pain to get set up and running correctly. However; it may be due to most of the gold I find being way smaller than the black sands. Next project is to make a small shaker table.

Recently got a Robinson river sluice (really light and seems to catch super fine gold) I have Garrett and minelab pans (minelab is my favorite, holds a ton of material and I like the base size and riffle configuration) it’s all really a learning curve to what works for you. Did you ever consider getting an electric demolition hammer for using in you dolley pot. You could grind off the pointy end of the chisel with an angle grinder and use the blunt end in the the pot to make quick work of those lumpy samples.

hey Chris why don't you try using the entire pan for Speed panning and then the small ripples to the side that everybody ignores 4 fine gold finishing pan two in one if you understand the pain like I have throughout the years I take home less concentrate and more gold

This video came up after I've seen some of you're newer videos and I saw that you were using a metal more cone bottom shaped pan. Which I think I've seen others saying they are enjoying using also. Have you changed your mind on best pans and other equipment since this video?

Hey bud. Big fan. Love your stuff. Wanted to just throw a suggestion in since I totally am the same way as you and 100% agree when it comes to panning from a good pan like the super sluice or the mine lab little bundle kit with the big and small pan and handled classifier. (Looks like we use the same pans) so yea back to the regular pans like you and I use compared to production pans. Like I said I totally agree but I would love to see you di a video with a production pan called the "pyrimad pro pan". I bought one about 6 years ago and it's amazing and think youd love it. It's made by snake river products here in California. That gold Hogg production pan is weak compared to the pyramid pro pan. I love gold hogg highbankers but that pan is all bad for real gold seekers. Anyways bro really look into the pyrimad pro pan. Only pan I've ever came across that goes faster than me using the usual pans you and I use. 2 to 3 unclassified buckets in 3 to 4 minutes or faster. Check it out and hit me back and I'll send you one to make a video on. Guaranteed you'll fall in love with it.

    Heavy pans bro.

Many people have suggested that pan. I remain sceptical of all of them until tested.

@@VoGusProspecting oh okay I figured you had but just wanted to shoot the idea your way since I was in total agreement with you and still am even owning this pan. It's a perfect pan for doing bulk testing very fast. Think youd like it alot fir yiur kind if gold your getting especially. Anyways tho nuce talking to ya and look forward to more of your videos. Take it easy.

Hey Chris how are things? How do you rate the Garrett Gold trap pan in comparison to the super sluice or minelab pans? I ask because you mention that the two large rifles on the S. Sluice helps with speed panning so would the three on the gold trap not be an improvement? I would be very interested to hear your thought. Thanks and greeting from Ireland 👋

    • @VoGusProspecting
      @VoGusProspecting  4 года назад +1

The riffles are not the deciding factor, stratifacation is. Two big riffles are more than enough

Because stupid greenies said highbankers were causing bank degradation, but how do we get the dirt into a pan or a river sluice you may ask, enough politics. My main weapons are a dream mat river sluice, minelab dish set, and my main weapon I saved up for a year and a good tax cheque, a Minelab GPX 4500, which is a super machine for the detecting I take on. And Chris, a super video for those beginning in the gold prospecting game, well done and very easy to understand.
