I feel like the professor has struggled with this game as a child, and therefore underestimates the difficulty. Legendary Wings is a bullet hell nightmare that requires a lot of memorizing, and the rest of us mortals are constantly taking hits
I'll say there's a WORLD of difference in this game between having the firebird and not. If you try surviving with most of the lower level "weapons", it's extremely challenging and definitely puts the hell in the bullet hell. With the firebird, much more manageable. It's just about keeping it, heh.
Your grandma was a lot like mine but mine usually found video games at yard and garage sales. I never owned this one but I know that Fluff, Blaze and Gary are always around to help out.

It's one of those scrolling shoots which doesn't reinvent anything, but is thoroughly satisfying.
That last unlucky stage definitely had some "Mystery Flesh Pit National Park" vibes. Great video as always!

Legendary Wings is pretty good. The visuals are solid and the gameplay looks fun. A good shooting game. Thanks for sharing.
