@Chris What bothers me is that the street 1.0 EcoBoost can easily withstand 180 hp without any head work, block strengthening (albeit forged internals are a must). The car in the video sounds similar to some modified road 1.0 EcoBoosts, although the one in the video does sound like it revs to over 7000 rpm. I don't see why they would need to overhaul and modify the block further. I never meant any disrespect. I don't doubt the fact you know your cars.
@Chris I think the weakest point of any modern production engine is the connecting rods. Replacing the stock pistons with custom pistons may allow the engine builder to change the location of the piston pins. Moving the pin higher in the piston allows a longer connecting rod to be used, and that has the important benefit of reducing the angle of the connecting rod relative to the cylinder and reducing side loading on the cylinder wall. That can reduce stress on the block and allow higer rpm.
@Chris my fiesta came with the 5 speed. I wish I could have gotten the 6 speed. I think I read somewhere that the fiesta Red edition and Black edition with the 1.0 ecoboost came in the UK with the 6 speed?
only a 1000c 3 cylinder with that much power and torque ? Damn even most motorcycles 3 cylinder can't make that much power let alone torque. Must be hella fun to drive
Triumph Daytona 675R is a 3 cylinder 675cc motorcycle with 126 HP, so if you do (126/675)*1000 you get 186.6 HP per litre, which is more than these cars have (180 HP per litre), and the Daytona 675R doesn't have a turbo.
Plumbley Exactly how much torque does it produce though? Thats what makes an engine truly flexible. Youve also got to remember that the Triumph probably revs to double that of an ecoboost. Rev any engine with enough airflow potential and youll make horsepower

Okay, I'm convinced that all of Ford's current engines use exceptionally similar head designs. This and the V6 have an uncanny resemblance to each other.
