K1 Speed REVERSE LAYOUT - MA State Championship! (2023 season)

- This was fun. Top 3 finishers got to attend the state championship (where it was only 3 of us) and run the track in reverse. I think we all quite liked the layout, despite the obvious safety hazards. What'd you guys think? How were your reverse layouts across the country?
See you in Cali!

Good coverage Gabe! Good luck at the Nationals.
Thanks! Should be a fun time.
Those two are just so fast. Hyped all three of you get to go out there! -Matt
They sure are. Thanks!
I'm surprised they actually let the race run in the opposite direction with that gap, but with y'all being the top drivers it was lower risk than when we ran employee races that way. Either way glad you got to run the more challenging version of the track
lol yea I’m surprised too, not just here but every location I think. It was still fun and I’d love to do it again.
@@gabeorlowitzracing8273 it's funny because the way the track is laid out in reverse makes it similar to the Anaheim location. The turns are almost exactly the same but Anaheim's track is slightly wider and has asphalt instead of concrete.
What type of equipment do they run for nationals? Are they the same karts or are they gas?
Ah electric but they’re much faster than these indoor ones, so it’ll be interesting to see how quickly I get up to speed on them
I thought I read in the rulebook somewhere that states with only one location, the city champions would automatically become state champions without this whole silly process
That was true at one point, until they changed it. So far no one has been able to explain why.
@@gabeorlowitzracing8273 well, at least it’s a lot less stressful than competing at the California State championship against 30+ other guys
@@CadenThure oh for sure!! Having it all come down to one race.. we definitely had it easier
The Junior track was super slippery for the MA State Championship in addition to also running in reverse. It did make it challenging. I'll post my video of that this weekend. It was kinda weird re-running the top 3 from the league alone in a separate race at 8am on a Sunday. Trophies were cool though.
Yea that track was slippery when I ran it once. Good luck in nationals!
