Ah the joy of the weekend maniacs! Did a bit of it but was more like if they really busy or short staffed! I was like part of the furniture for a few years! The 1st time I walked in it seemed kind of scary. Got over that in 2 weeks and bought my own helmet a month later. That was 15 years ago and have also worked at Mosport . Lap 1 at turn 1 of a club race is not boring. Was more relaxed behind the wheel rather than standing at the corner! Getting hit by a out of control kart is interesting! I kind of forgot that rain tires useless on wet grass and was 2 steps slow getting out of the way! Being Canadian apologized to the driver for making them mad enough to hit me! Glad they got the joke and when it comes to racing shit happens!

Tapped his bumper he went sideways then the nose of my kart got under his side pod and over he went! 3 years after that was doing double duty as corner worker and racer! Before outside had 3 solid years of indoor Karting. The inside driving style did not work outside! After I stopped indoors my outside racing really improved!!! Have only done indoor karting once in last ten years!
this reminds me of when i was admittedly quite a bit younger, i was racing carts and distinctly remember a woman getting pulled for driving ultimately too slow and she was also spinning out regularly as well. in hindsight i think she was having an anxiety issue of sorts as she seemed quite flustered and distraught and saw her once again the next week where it was basically a repeat performance and equally as flustered.. i've always wondered what was going on and if she was maybe using karting as some sort of psychological aid of some sort
ahh. perhaps someone in a car accident, as you mentioned. very possible and honestly a good way to cope, especially if she returned. although if you're just spinning out and being messy, not sure how much that helps haha.

I love this place! The worst drivers at on track are the people that don't hit the gas on that straightaway going under the bridge. I remember these two guys got all day passes and the employees recommended them to go on the outside course because they were so slow on the indoor course and wanted to move them away from people going full speed. Also how did she spin out under the bridge? That's the easiest turn on the course!

I have done 2 karting races in my life of as right now, I was 2nd in my 1st race then I was like, 6th in my 2nd because I was in the adult carts and I was afraid of crashing and flipping (yeah I was that dumb to think that lol) and also because 5 months earlier I witnessed dale srs death live. And I didnt want that to happen to me
I used to be a track operator for K1, and there's been some pretty crazy moments we've had, but the absolute worst is when this dude wanted to start a fight with me because he was being an ass on the track. He was ramming into others, and I gave him a warning to stop. He flipped me off and I stopped the race to give verbal warning. He starts giving this "macho man" ordeal, trying to act tough, but just being a toddler because he can't do things his way. He got banned completely, but it haunts me still.
Yeah, this circuit isn't even that hard to race on aswell. you have a lot of vision going into the corners so you can adapt. Circuits where you are going blind into a corner is somewhat understandable, but this is just straight gabrage.

This reminds me of a time when I went karting. The bad driver was this girl and her boyfriend who thought it would be fine if they ignored the owners telling her to put her phone away and be safe, needless to say she crashed pretty hard and the last I saw of her was her and her boyfriend walking out of the circuit (her crying).
I honestly don’t feel sorry. This also reminds me of a time when I was karting and two people kept on cutting me off and almost caused a crash and after the checkered flag when the race ended and we were gonna park our karts, they bumped into me twice!
Nice track. I like indoor karting, but all too often the tracks are set up to be nothing but tight stuff with a short "token straight" thrown in. This has some long flowing straight/gentle bend (I.E. high speed turns) stuff that looks like adrenaline 101. Good stuff, mate.
This is why I always let everyone pass me, then I give the last one the time to create a gap. That way I can just kart without worrying about this until I either catch up or someone laps me (which is highly unlikely 😜). I like longer tracks because those make it easier to use this strategy.
@@areviewer8514 I don't do races, I just drive two or three heats at the local track. Those are not races. The only thing they keep track of are your lap times, not your position.
You're thinking of Grand Prix (first to finish) format races. Indoor karts generally don't run grand prix since the tracks are very narrow and short, which leave very little (safe) overtaking opportunities, especially since indoor karting is more popular for people who don't know much about racing and have a tendency to illegally block/divebomb. Instead, indoor karting usually does Time Attack (fastest lap) format, where each lap time is recorded and the person who scored the quickest lap overall wins as it puts less emphasis on passing and thereby reduces collisions. In fact, Time Attack is actually the format in play in this exact video, hence the end screen showing each person's fastest lap time rather than their finishing placement. @@areviewer8514
I'm going to say that is a bad strategy. If you are actually a quick driver racing with a bunch of inexperienced karters, you're likely fast enough to lap all of them at least once. Spending your first couple laps falling back and letting a gap grow is just delaying bringing your tires up to temperature. Later in the race if there is a chance of falling back to get a clean lap, sure, go for it. You just really can't expect to get more than one lap out of it.
I had a similar case when I first tried K1...with a twist Guy: *cruising around the track* Me: *passes him* Minutes later... Guy: *blocks me* Me: *getting really frustrated* Also me: BLUE FLAG! BLUE FREAKING FLAG! Marshal in the distance: Stop shouting! You’re not Sebastian Vettel! Me: *dk if I should be mad or to laugh* Also me: *not paying attention, crash into the barrier, ending my race*
First time I was at K1 I ended up in an insanely slow group, so slow that there times where I passed the same person twice within one of their laps. The last few minutes the whole track was just permanently blue flagged.
For a situation like this, when they’re trying to ram you best thing you can do is let go of your gas a little or full on break cus then they in the wall.
I had a situation like that once going into a hairpin when I noticed that they guy behind ‘forgot’ to brake. Delayed my turn in a bit and he went full speed into the wall 🤣
Dude i should have totally done that, there was this one 12 maybe 13 year old kid smashing into everyone and showing them the middle finger after speeding off, dunno how he didnt get black flagged but he did crash into me 2 times. This would have been so satisfying omllll
I've had the pleasure of sharing the track with a Karen. One of the highest speed sections of the track she moved out of our way but them slammed the door and the brakes causing a massive collision. Once the session ended she got the manager and must have started threatening because as they were leaving their group were yelling and laughing "enjoy your lifetime ban!" Employee came up to us and said don't worry about it they just wanted them gone.

around march i went karting for the first time. I pushed too hard. brushing walls here and there but i got third on the timing sheet for my first time.
jon S just that a kart is easy af to drive. Even my little brother at only 10 years old got quick after a couple of laps. If she can't even match the speed to her abilities, she shouldn't get into a car.
Dribble2x it depends on what kind of kart and what track, is it a 4stroke , 2stroke or electric. Is it a shifter or does it have 1 gear. Are u racing indoors or outside, how long is the track. Is the kart a crg tonykart or birel. In the end u can't say how hard something is unless u are in the same seat as them
I think she got paid to be that bad because its hard to end up spinning with those karts (used to make small drifts with them to turn easier but got warned to don't do it)
Its easy since the surface its not tarmac, its slippy material you get in storage rooms. I am much bettet driving on a kart race track, indoors im not good cause i never learned to drive on that kind of surface.
Nutelko8 I use a Scandinavian flick mostly to get the rear kickin' out, but yeah its true that in polished concrete is easier than doing it on gravel tarmac

I saw something similar like this happen at our local karting track, there was a couple that wanted to join in our race ( we were only with 6 on the track so we didn’t mind ) the girl started first but was quickly getting lapped and started pushing people in the corners so they wouldn’t get past her. Afterwards the dude in first place came past her and she tried to ram him again, she missed and ran straight into a wall going about 55-60 km/h, her helmet flew off because she loosened it and she cried and got angry at the guy before she left the track.

I went go karting once and it was the final turn onto the straight and this kid had no clue what he was doing. So im about to turn left and i see him so i let off the throtle and he floors from the inside around a ninety degree turn and spins out. That same day this kid was going so slow and staying in the middle of the track and there was no room to get pat him. And cos he was going so slow everyone else smashed in to one another
Nice circuit. In the UK a lot of our indoor tracks are lame hairpin left, hairpin right, ramps up and down cos they're always confined to small footprints. No flowing corners like you have here
I know kart racing shouldn't be taken as seriously unless it's meant to be competitive but my brain just cries when I see someone not take a racing line

Nice track. I like indoor karting, but all too often the tracks are set up to be nothing but tight stuff with a short "token straight" thrown in. This has some long flowing straight/gentle bend (I.E. high speed turns) stuff that looks like adrenaline 101. Good stuff, mate.

This is why I always let everyone pass me, then I give the last one the time to create a gap. That way I can just kart without worrying about this until I either catch up or someone laps me (which is highly unlikely 😜). I like longer tracks because those make it easier to use this strategy.

@@areviewer8514 I don't do races, I just drive two or three heats at the local track. Those are not races. The only thing they keep track of are your lap times, not your position.
You're thinking of Grand Prix (first to finish) format races. Indoor karts generally don't run grand prix since the tracks are very narrow and short, which leave very little (safe) overtaking opportunities, especially since indoor karting is more popular for people who don't know much about racing and have a tendency to illegally block/divebomb. Instead, indoor karting usually does Time Attack (fastest lap) format, where each lap time is recorded and the person who scored the quickest lap overall wins as it puts less emphasis on passing and thereby reduces collisions. In fact, Time Attack is actually the format in play in this exact video, hence the end screen showing each person's fastest lap time rather than their finishing placement. @@areviewer8514
I'm going to say that is a bad strategy. If you are actually a quick driver racing with a bunch of inexperienced karters, you're likely fast enough to lap all of them at least once. Spending your first couple laps falling back and letting a gap grow is just delaying bringing your tires up to temperature. Later in the race if there is a chance of falling back to get a clean lap, sure, go for it. You just really can't expect to get more than one lap out of it.

First time I was at K1 I ended up in an insanely slow group, so slow that there times where I passed the same person twice within one of their laps. The last few minutes the whole track was just permanently blue flagged.
Blue flag means hold your line not move over. Your over taking it's your job to figure it out.
I have no idea what a black flag means, but it sounds really severe.

I had a situation like that once going into a hairpin when I noticed that they guy behind ‘forgot’ to brake. Delayed my turn in a bit and he went full speed into the wall 🤣

I've had the pleasure of sharing the track with a Karen. One of the highest speed sections of the track she moved out of our way but them slammed the door and the brakes causing a massive collision. Once the session ended she got the manager and must have started threatening because as they were leaving their group were yelling and laughing "enjoy your lifetime ban!" Employee came up to us and said don't worry about it they just wanted them gone.

Dribble2x it depends on what kind of kart and what track, is it a 4stroke , 2stroke or electric. Is it a shifter or does it have 1 gear. Are u racing indoors or outside, how long is the track. Is the kart a crg tonykart or birel. In the end u can't say how hard something is unless u are in the same seat as them

I saw something similar like this happen at our local karting track, there was a couple that wanted to join in our race ( we were only with 6 on the track so we didn’t mind ) the girl started first but was quickly getting lapped and started pushing people in the corners so they wouldn’t get past her. Afterwards the dude in first place came past her and she tried to ram him again, she missed and ran straight into a wall going about 55-60 km/h, her helmet flew off because she loosened it and she cried and got angry at the guy before she left the track.

I went go karting once and it was the final turn onto the straight and this kid had no clue what he was doing. So im about to turn left and i see him so i let off the throtle and he floors from the inside around a ninety degree turn and spins out. That same day this kid was going so slow and staying in the middle of the track and there was no room to get pat him. And cos he was going so slow everyone else smashed in to one another
