Everytime I open a package I have to save it.. lol. I usually end up using it. I have been looking for corrugated paper but cannot find it and I know I can use cardboard but it's difficult to scrape,cut away top layer to get to it. I guess I'll have to get some aluminum sheets from hobby lobby and make some grooves and make my own
great look. So dystopian, a hint of Steampunk. Please do another one with added lights here and there. People do manage to rig up electricity in some shanty towns. Maybe add gas cans (generators implied), broken glass, a water tower, maybe scooters and one with an open wall to show interior contents.
In the Grimdark future, only underhive shanty Towns are colorful and cheerful.

You should make a similar shantytown build, but make it a market. Stuff like pawn shops, rouge docs, gun shops street food and bars all stacked on top of each other

I'd love to see a table full of terrain like this. Then again, with all the twists and turns, it sounds like a recipe for losing a mini.

This is so much more in line with what I expect the under hive to look like, not these wide open spaces like the zone mortalis tiles

Chunky terrain gives a completely diff'rent playstyle to all the paper thin walkways amongst open spaces you see a lot of nowadays. Glad to see someone keepin' the ol' bog roll wonders alive!

This right here is Necromunda to me. Thank you for this spectacular piece. I love the caotic nature of buildings and walkways that give this "grown over time" astetic.
I spent the last month building something very similar but got stuck in some weird kind of decision paralysis.
This just really inspired me to finally finsh my build.

that waterfall sticking to itself is the definition of a happy little accident!
Don't worry about the bright colours. Some of the slums around where I live have brightly coloured houses, so it's not out of place. Great build, Eric!

A great looking project. Another source for corrugated metal is the insulating rings you use to hold your hot Starbucks coffee cups.
That culvert is screaming out for a single Genestealer, gone un-noticed by the hive inhabitant as they fight amongst them selves over scraps.

I miss only one thing: some gang tags or poster could make that big concrete surface a bit more interesting.
Love the use of varying colors on the buildings. Really sells the idea that this is a town built out of scrap metal over time by a variety of residents rather than this super uniform rust city.
I had to comment after watching this the other day as it's been rolling around in my head. But this build is absolutely sick. I love it so much. The detail the colours the drabness in areas. The weathering and stairs and alleys. This looks amazing..well done! I can't wait to watch the rest of it come together.
You definitely have captured the essence of Necromunda with this creation, Vertical (!!!), slap-together-scrappy, gritty and grimey.

I imagine a few of these with bridges and gangways connecting them. Maybe one of those small smoke machines Tabletop Witchcraft uses to have vents and chimneys billowing out from the small homes and shanties as well!

I built my own underhive kill team board last month and I can confirm about the gorilla glue caulk. Its so dope. Also thank you for the inspiration. I wouldnt had even thought about building any game terrain but your Fortress Monastery video and Tau station video really opened up my imagination on what to look for at dollar stores and the result is a rusty disgusting and awesome game board. I got some corrugated paper not too long ago, so I've been meaning to build some shanty town style terrain. This video was quite helpful in that regard. I especially like the bold use of colors. Even in the grim darkness of the far future, people love color.
Shantytowns are beautiful in a unique way, but hopefully the future will have proper housing for everyone

this is so dope. i think some small graffiti tags with a marker scattered along a few buildings would also fit the gang aesthetic.

Yo this is SO GOOD. I don't think I've ever seen terrain that depicts the underhive so well. All the little spaces really look like someone has settled in there.

The little touches of supports and girders really makes the structure look lived in. Pipes too.
Wow, this is one wicked awesome piece of terrain! At first it didn't look all that tall, only a foot you said, but by the time you were done it would dominates any table. I don't play any tabletop games and yet this makes me want to build one of my own! 😲 Now that is some serious skills! It only needs some graffiti/gang tags and it would be utter perfection.

I think this might be my favorite build of yours. I particularly like the "verticality" of the build. It really sells the "hive" aspect of the piece.
I may need to replicate this, but orkified for my planned "mek town" table, inspired by the descriptions in the old GorkaMorka game.

I've seen many people make effort to cover up the spiral, but if it's a big metal pipe.. that's how they make them. A long piece of metal at a diagonal in a big helix, welded together along its edge, that makes the spiral pattern.
